The clip was compared to singer Boy George's music video for his 1987 single, "To Be Reborn", released less than five years before "This Used to Be My Playground". In George's video, he also appears on pages of a photo album, performing the song. George himself stated in his autobiography that he was "furious" after watching Madonna's clip and renamed it "This Used to Be My Video".

I know, and grasped your reference in the other post. Huge rip-off but also a compliment, hey?

    Hes broke himself.

    Oh, okay, George's personal accountant...

Did you ever consider that he does things like I'm A Celebrity for PR repair, as well as for the experience and cash?

When M started putting her name to sunglasses and coconut water, did you assume she was struggling financially?

And he also stated on X that the house is still his, despite that recent press.

It sounds like you're from the UK and were raised on a trashy tabloid diet.

Boy George is a fucking Icon. An unashamed gay man and all the complexities that comes with from a time when it was difficult to be queer. Both he and Madonna are disciples of Bowie and I think thats's where a lot of the beef comes from. Who did it better, particularly as they are from the same era. Gaga is the same. If you know anything about boy most of his quips are usually followed by a laugh and are just a cackle and a kiki. It's usually said with tongue planted firmly in cheek. Maybe this doesn't come across well if you aren't British but he's a perfect British eccentric whilst being amazingly self aware. He's fascinating and his two autobiogs Take It Like A Man and Straight are two of the best (if not the in the case of TILAM) I have ever read. He's a pioneer and let's be honest....Madonna did come to the UK an adopt some of his style tips. Culture Club as a concept was pretty forward thinking too.

I love him for all his flaws and the world of music would be a much duller place without him.

It's all in good fun x

It's refreshing to read a well-rounded, educated and appreciative opinion about him here.

And yeh, that charming yet messy Gemini sure knows how to communicate an entertaining story.

TILAM is an incredible autobiography. I encourage those who like the genre to check it out, Boy George fan or not.

His second, Straight, is a lot bitchier, probably because he was addicted to drugs during the writing/collation of it.

    Says it all

    What does it say?

George has been entrenched in dance music culture as Jesus Loves You since 1989 and as a DJ on and off for 25 years.

He was also featured in Stuart's '(Hey You) What's That Sound?' music video, which was released in 1998.

    They're long-time acquaintances.

So his beef is because she didn't say "hi" to him?

Please, let's not be so basic?

He moaned that she didn't say hi to him backstage this year but he said it all with a laugh. There's no real beef in 2023.

Man, I'd hate to be famous, with the general public taking an inch and running a mile with quotes and rumours.

    Are you serious? ....

And about the article, i Google Madonna news now and then, and that article popped up, its recent, he said nasty things in a recent radio interview.

It's definitley nothing personal from me to him, I don't give a **** about him. I just tought people would like to know this.

And about him attending The Celebration Tour, he started bitching about Madonna after that. He said he was backstage somewhere and Madonna didn't even take the time to came and see him. He is just desperate..

Yes, I'm serious. The following two parts are very old quotes.

“She is a horrible, horrible human being with no redeeming qualities.”

"And comparing Madonna with Marilyn Monroe is like comparing Raquel Welch (an actress, ed.) with the back of a bus.”

Please do your research or find better entertainment news sources that report more accurately.

Does he ever gonna stop? What an attention *****

    Some things he said:

“She is a horrible, horrible human being with no redeeming qualities.”

“It's too late to reconcile,” he said in an interview with 'Heart Breakfast'. “I think we are all very selective about what we remember. People remember things the way they want, as long as you do it with a sense of humor. I just say honestly what I think of her... And comparing Madonna with Marilyn Monroe is like comparing Raquel Welch (an actress, ed.) with the back of a bus.”

“Madonna and I will never be friends. That is already far too late.” When asked if he was worried about what Madonna would say if she found out, he fired back: "No, I hope she writes something about me, but she won't." Indeed, the pop star has never publicly commented on Boy George's statements.

    thoughts?...

You're being selective about your news source here, probably because you have a personal agenda?

Firstly, the above is a collection of mostly very old quotes by George (some around 20 years old, in fact).

George is a fascinating artist and personality and, while flawed, has made a lot of positive changes in his life.

Today, he is much more philosophical and good-natured about his association with M.

He has always been a huge fan of hers and even attended her Celebration Tour.

M has admitted that she has found George to be intimidating, and for good reason.

It's probably the reason she ostracised him at her party circa the early '90s, which is where the friction started.

The moral of the story is to do your research and not resort to basic bitchery.

The whole Britney kiss thing was a load of crap not shocking at all by 2003 or even interesting  - got to hand it to Madonna though she knew all the tabloids would write endlessly about it and be a great PR stunt from that point of view it got her loads of publicity after American Life took a dip in terms of success

C'mon. In 2003, it was shocking and interesting to all us pop culture fiends, plus those basics within the general population.
