What Mr. Brainwash did for Celebration album graphics was fierce and iconic. This is a literal rip-off and a cheep one too. Don't understand why they had to go with the same concept twice.

This. The main version and the point of this project is celebrating her 50 US #1 Dance hits, so the 50-track version is the one. But a 50-track album is LONG. The 16-track version is a shortened one, and probably more convenient for general public or casual streams.

It says abridged. By definition this means it’s a shortened version of something longer.
An abridged version of a book may have a different cover and sells on its own but it’s still an edited version of that same book. Not an entirely different book

You have not understood me. I've said that it was dark to be a fan because even my friends insulted Madonna ("whore", "she is doing porn", "she disgusts me", "she does anything for fame", etc, etc, etc). For me Erotica is one of her best eras (Girlie Show, Album, Singles, Videos) but the hate was too much.

In my opinion, it was the combination of "Erotica" and "Sex". It was too much for ordinary people. For me "Erotica" is a masterpiece. I even remember classic fans (from "Like A Virgin" era) hating her for "Erotica" and "Sex". It was a really dark era to be a fan.

Except "Erotica" (the song) the singles were a flop in sales. Radio stations didn't play the singles. TV didn't play the videos. We all love "Erotica" but like it or not it is considered the first Madonna's flop in music.
"Erotica" almost kill her career.
