Friends, I really want to know if this piece of an audio is really worth downloading. My hearing sense isn't perfect. I don't have a studio with a great equipment, so I can't hear this and that.
I wanted to try the AI on another level (live recording). It may sound ok-ish on this recording from Detroit. There weren't much effects applied to the vocals (besides the delay/echo/reverb) compared to the recent "live" recordings.
I also tried to isolate Madonna's vocals from the "Girlie Show" tour (especially "EY"/DAD"), but there is so much reverb and other things.... It doesn't sound good. I remember there was a version of the concert from Australia with just vocals, bass and drums. But it turned out to be the DVD version with some channels muted, right?
I love you all. Take care!

The recent discussions about the official 7" mix(es) of Lucky Star made me think about how different a single version of "Lucky Star" could have been.

Somehow I always wondered why they didn't cut one of the middle 8's from the single version.

I tried to do an alternative single mix and want to share it with you. What do you think about it?

The 1995 Release would have been a great opportunity to dig out the full-length version of the song in my opinion. Sadly, we didn't even get a properly unmixed version on the compilation itself.
I decided to make this single for my personal collection and wanted to share it with you:

    Key:
    Fanmade Versions
    Real official or leaked versions
Oh Father [Unmixed] 5:01 In This Life - Live from The Girlie Show 6:57 (Rare b-side accidentally falsely released on the German misprint of the I'll Remember single) Oh Father - Extended Version 5:31 Oh Father - Extended Instrumental 5:31 Bonus:

Let's not rewrite facts here. She really sang out of key for the whole song and what we heard on the broadcast was her singing with no auto-tuning. What she later uploaded to her YT channel was that performance auto-tuned to death.
What I think might have happened is, we were supposed to hear her voice WITH auto-tune on the broadcast, but for some reason it was turned off; might have been sabotage, or just a mistake by the sound people. What boggles me is, she already sounded totally off-key on the rehearsal, how come nobody from her team intervened and said, excuse me, this performance is not ready for broadcast, let's get the auto-tune to work, or she's better off lip-synching the whole thing. I was watching it live on TV and felt really sorry for her when she started singing, it was her worst vocal performance ever.

Also, the whole performance stood out from the tone of Eurovision, which is always high energy, camp and fun. She should have researched the history of the ESC and come up with a better concept for her performance. Or maybe she shouldn't have done that show at all, it is a singing and performing competition, where each contestant is trying to be louder, brighter, camper than the last one. Then out comes Madonna with a dark themed, low energy performance, very unimaginative rendition of a classic song (that arrangement was just bad), and butchers the vocals. In my opinion, it was a mistake to even be there in the first place.

And I think that moment did hurt her reputation as a performer in Europe, where the show is watched by millions of people of all ages. If you were not familiar with Madonna's work in the last 20 year and just watched that performance, you were left with the impression she is just a has-been who cannot sing or dance or put on an interesting show anymore. It was embarrassing for anyone watching. I remember hearing lots of comments the next day about the train wreck that was Madonna on Eurovision. Even one of the presenters made fun of her during the live broadcast, minutes after M left the stage. She said something like: "Thank God for Madonna's auto-tune".

Are you suggesting that the version of the performance Madonna uploaded to her YT channel the next day was just her pure vocals with no auto-tune? I mean, come on... she sounds like a robot in that version, albeit hitting the right notes.

I agree with what Tristan is saying on his react video, it was a combination of bad vocals with wrong auto-tune bending her notes and making it worse.

Here in Italy the news are telling the story pointing on the fact she is postponing her tour, the health issue seems to be taken as serious but not worrying.
I'm afraid that at least the summer dates are gonne be rescheduled, she needs to recover, be back in form and at that point they could start to understand the situation and think about the tour plans. From there, back to rehearsals and maybe some rearrangements too.
Said that, I mean, M is 64, not that old, and she always took care of her health, she's not Prince, Michael or Whitney. She's gonna make it, we're gonna applaude her again and scream our love to her stage.
We just have to wait and make har feel our support

I think she should make her own documentary about her life, it's ridiculous, no one can play her ! It's for the same reason she can't play a role. Madonna is the biggest role out there. She should comb archives around the world and her personal ones and comment them. I'm pretty sure most of us are way more interested in that than a movie. It's just her recountin big moments of her life (and ours) through her eyes and since she's Madonna and not scared of it, add some witnesses to contradict her and her memories, it should be a lot of fun and since she would be behind the camera, interviewing people from her past, giving them total freedom to express themself, expecially her brother and sisters or people whom she had beefs with. Intersped with iconic performances from her career in HD. It would be tonue in cheek to have her interview Alek about TOD, or Sandra Bernhard, even Sean Penn, Guy Ritchie and Christopher even that woman who wrote the I Hate Madonna Handbook (now a healthy living blogger). Whatever she wanted to say with a movie she can do it in a three or four (four decades) 2 hours documentary series shot by her.

I don’t feel like Sam Smith is the worst thing to happen to the gay community… but his image has sparked a question in my head that I haven’t quite answered yet…
How much does beauty play a part in the pop stars that we love. I would be lying if I said that Madonna’s beauty had nothing to do with why I became so obsessed with her. I remember staring at her face so close for hours on the poster on my wall.  Esthetics are a thing… and hers were always perfection. There’s a reason they take a million photos. Shoot a hundred different takes in videos. The video of him doing Human Nature with pasties comes across as cringe to me. It doesn’t really excite me visually, and I’m not against it per sé,  But I’m not really sure why it’s cringe. Because I get a kick out of seeing drag race girls half in and out of drag with their boy chest showing and their wigs still on. I’m attracted to femme guys who wear femme clothes.  I don’t know… there’s something about it that doesn’t sit right with me. The Devil performance at the Grammys was also very… just… “why?”. If anything… in our political climate when people are claiming the gays are evil and grooming children, and you choose to intentionally feed that fire… it doesn’t feel boundary pushing or next level or moving the conversation forward like say the Sex Book did. Or at least I perceived it to.

The only thing I can compare this to is watching someone you are sexually attracted to making a thirst trap tik tok, and then watching someone you are not attracted to doing the same thing. It can be cringe or comical. But it also shines a light on how absurd the “thirst trap” TikTok genre is. And in that same vein, I feel like Sam Smith calls into question what a pop star is. But then I also think… we’ve always had bigger people making music, mid level handsome guys singing… what’s the difference?!?  I love Beth Ditto. Mama Cass.

I don’t mean to offend anyone, I just honestly feel like Sam Smith’s recent persona has just turned me into the interviewer who told Madonna he didn’t like the sex book photo of her straddling the mirror with her finger in her vagina, and I’m racking my brain trying to figure out what it means, what my issue is.

I mean also, are we supposed to just love everything everyone does?! I feel like so many performances now a days its like clapping for people just for trying, not because it’s actually good. Like, “yay, you are bigger, and you took off your clothes, you get an automatic round of applause because you are brave”. Idk
    What time is it?

Oh shit: replace all my he’s and hims with theys. I forgot. 🥴
