I love the compilation as is. I’m critical often of a lot of stuff but most of the edit issues I didn’t notice until I joined this forum, years after listening to Celebration on my own. But I appreciate people caring enough to address those errors. But if I need to slap together a quick playlist with mostly the same volume, then Celebration is where I’m gonna grab the songs.

I loved the following getting some highlights:

Who’s That Girl (I didn’t really know this song until this compilation and I now consider a guilty pleasure from her 80s discography)

Burning Up (Love this song so much so it was nice seeing it represent her early 80s punk persona.)

Everybody (I didn’t really pay much attention to this one until the compilation, I was like “This was a single?”)

But I do find some track listing omissions odd:

Give It 2 Me (I’d swap Miles Away for it but I love it getting exposure on a major compilation despite not really doing anything as a single.)

American Life (I hate they kept sweeping this away despite it being a lead single)

Deeper & Deeper (Ignoring the above omissions, this one being overlooked it’s crazy to me.)

miles away was huge in Japan, with the help a Japanese TV drama tie-up. It even carried the sales of hard candy effectively. I guess that was the reason.

SO I have now listened to this in full. It's so good you picked mixes that were new to my ears and made it like that very first listen to The Immaculate Collection. I remember buying it on cassette on the day it came out, then catching the bus back home and listening to it on my walkman. I was so shocked to hear new mixes as I had no idea it was remixed. I was on the bus so had no one to talk to about these mixes. Ha ha Good times.

:Madonna042:Thank you! I so happy that you enjoy this!!! that's the magic of music I guess, always brings back the memories

I will never undersand why some fans claim Like a Virgin is one of her weakest albuns.

    Really?

An album with classic and unforgettable songs like Material Girl, Like a Virgin, Dress you Up, Into the Groove and Angel.

And also some very good pop songs like Love don't live here anymore, Over and Over and Stay.

Also we still have Crazy for you and Gambler from the same era.

IMO, it's on my top 3: Like a Prayer, Ray of Light and Like a Virgin.

The singles are great, and it's for sure her golden era. It's considered as a weak album because listening to the singles/ complications is quite enough. Non-single tracks here are not as strong as the debut album IMO

I keep hearing people say that MDNA has great songs except the singles and yet nobody ever seems to mention these supposed hidden gems. Give me one song that is truly exceptional from that album besides Masterpiece. Actually there are none and MDNA is rightly criticized as one of the most half assed and mediocre Madonna projects of all time.

I'm a sinner and love spent are definitely great songs :Madonna041: I don't think the songs in MDNA are that bad actually, blame it on the stupid image of the lead single

  5. Commercially speaking, album/single promotion stops as the margin diminished, she utilized single promotion to boost album sales pretty well already. Gang Bang would be cool to have a sensational music video, but do you think it could help the song to chart top 50, and how many album sales it could move. Let's just be grateful for every music video and promo performance we have.

I think if they reissue singles they should do what they did this time around and compile everything on one record.

Also it seems to me like they don’t have the 7” edits that we don’t have.

Theg snubbed the Commotion movie house edit and the Open Your Heart Remix Edit. I’m afraid we’re never gonna the edits we’re missing already

but the 7 ''edit has been published on vinyl isn't it? they should have kept the master tape, just like the extended mix and dub of Who's That Girl, which we don't have in digital
