Why would Warner put top quality stuff on streaming channels when they know audiophiles will put their hand in their pockets and buy high res stuff from high res sites? Everything is a business decision and there's little value or difference for the average joe logging on to You Tube or Spotify. Her stuff is essentially there. This project rectifies that and is obviously a fan directed endevour that will also appeal to the wider publics nostalgia and lay the foundation for the bio pic and raise her public profile and win over hearts and minds with the familiar to bolsyter and reignite her commercial power when releasing new music and projects. 
It's business,,,and its smart business. 
 

Probably, I also remember someone here updating her streaming numbers and putting almost the same exact songs in her top50 (otherwise songs like Faz Gostoso and Get Together wouldn't be there) 

Whoever is influencing her... Thank you. She has never looked so beautiful, stylish, fresh and colorful in years! I'm living for all the photoshoots she's serving on her insta, (the last one in Puglia might be my absolute fave)! 

I'm so excited to see how the expanded editions are going to be. I hope they include as much unreleased/demos/remixes as possible. I wonder how many surprises we are gonna get 

Why is everyone saying she won’t include unreleased/demos… we’ve seen her jamming to demos from prefame on her instagram for months now as she dives into her history for her biopic. This is obviously a Madonna who is embracing her past artistry and unreleased content. Also they used the word “expansive” no way would that word be used on old remixes we’ve had forever 

I feel like depending on the album, there is a lot of potential... for example, with True Blue there could be...

I personally think the LAP, and TB anniversary editions (which do leave a lot to be desired) are just the record company doing market research. The singles are already being rolled out to streaming services, as well as the promotion of HD upgrades of the videos on her YouTube site. 
I agree that there’s a huge amount of mythology surrounding Madonna’s unused songs, but we have also had many songs confirmed that were talked about for years and years when all the leaks started happening. 
For me, there’s an excitement for having actual “Madonna approved” releases, even if it had been leaked before. The press announcement, especially from Guy Oseary about listening to the fans, makes me hope that Madonna and her team will also take the care and consideration to make these truly worth the deluxe edition prices, and make it worthwhile to the fans. Slinging remixes onto the the end of an album isn’t really a worthy use of a huge press release, and there are many other lesser artists (sorry Prince and Depeche Mode!!) that have had amazing deluxe reissues, frankly without the importance. IMO. 
I wouldn’t doubt the amount of red tape involved in a deal of this kind. Pat Leonard already sold the rights to his portion of the recordings. And he suddenly halted the release of his own new interpretations of his songs with Madonna. We know Nile Rodgers will get royalties from both “Madonna” and “Like A Virgin”, per his contract to produce LAV, so I’m sure this wasn’t an easy deal to seal. Which is why LDLHA was cut from the RHT release. As well as LS from the medley. It’s the art and commerce  dilemma. 
I'm most likely wrong, but artists like Madonna, Prince, MJ, David Bowie, etc. etc are why publishing right are so valuable. It’s collateral for the holder of the copyrights, and especially in MJ’s case, why he was able to float his finances for years without actually recording new material, because he owned everyone else song rights! Or Beyoncé requiring songwriting and publishing credit for songs she didn’t write. 
The business is complicated, and I’m grateful that Madonna continued to be an artist and create music and live productions rather than retreat for years like MJ or Kate Bush, or Prince for that matter. Madonna has remained relevant because she is. 


Additionally, we have no idea what terms her contract with LN or Interscope were beyond the public record. It’s quite possible she wasn’t “allowed” to damage their brands because it would also damage her own. 
She’s wishing death to the patriarchy for a reason. 

Wait, she was seen downtown in a Lecce, Puglia this morning! She was literally in my hometown today and I didn't even know it until now, I'M GOING TO CRY

I can't believe we got this massive news and STILL some people are moaning about it. God.

I think this is a wise and long overdue move. They’re smart to re-establish her legacy for generations to come before thinking about releasing new music. Madonna deserves an audience, and it seems all of us, including her, understand that she has been underrepresented over the last decade. What seemed unfathomable ten years ago has actually happened; her legacy and profile have been diminished for a variety of reasons, but mostly due to poor representation. Without an actual label, what hope does a legacy artist have of maintaining relevance? It seems clear that you have to be part of the system to be heard.  
 
I’m excited that they emphasize her curatorial involvement. She has spent the last almost two years being quite retrospective with her focus on her biopic. She actively showed herself listening to old demos on IG. I have every hope that they will roll these out chronologically with the mention of Madonna’s fortieth major label recording anniversary. I expect she has access to quite a vast library of things we can’t even imagine. There’s plenty of reasons to believe Madonna will take this journey seriously. She was never willing to look back before, but she seems fully committed to that now for whatever reason. Maybe she is content and feels she has accomplished enough to be able to recall her rise to prominence. Whatever the reason, I love that this is happening! Justice for Madonna’s iconic discography!

I don't think they would have made this big of a deal out of this announcement if they weren't intending to do a proper job of remastering and re-releasing these albums. To me, this sounds like a large campaign that's meant to celebrate her career. I have a feeling we're finally in for the treats that MJ and Prince fans have received throughout the last decade or so.

My perfect idea for her 80's work would be something like the Michael Jackson's "Visionary" box but with the videos apart (not a double side CD one with audio and the other with video). They could make a nice box to buy with the first single and releasing a single each month or something like that. The collectors could buy the singles and put them in the box and the casual fans could buy just the singles they want. 
It could be something like this for Madonna:
"Everybody" (with the box) - CD with all the remixes
"Burning up" - CD with all the remixes
"Holiday" - CD with all the remixes
"Lucky star" - CD with all the remixes
"Borderline" - CD with all the remixes
DVD/ Blu ray with all the official videos and some performances. (I'd love all but that could be really complicated)
And finally a remastered version of the album with 2 CDs. The first one the original album. The second one with demos, songs like "Ain`t no big deal) or unreleased remixes. The album with a booklet with info about the songs, the singles, and would be great info of each song given by Madonna or the people that worked on it, outtakes and things like that.
The single box could be used for more albums, not make it a new one for each album... With that I would be completly happy and I think is a good way to let unreleased material with the album and, at the same time, the ones who want the remixes can buy the singles and have the official versions.
Of course a re-release of the 12'' maxis would be just perfect but I think it would be too much to ask for.

I wonder how long they have been working on this reissue program.
I remember Nile Rodgers saying a year, maybe two, ago that he was supervising a new remaster of Like A Virgin.
I also remember that Warner Canada said back in 2007 that they were in the process of remastering and  remixing her back catalog in 5.1 surround, so hopefully we'll get that in these boxes...

If fans are involved, as I read, we could really have something amazing. As a fan I would ask them the album, every edit, extended, alternative mix etc... All the Instrumental, some unreleased tracks, some we know and some we don't. We need on cd all tracks that are vinyl only so far. 
Maybe that's why rusty Eagan was contacted and why she took out all her old tapes she sows on Instagram lol
To make it great, each album would have to be released in a box with 4 cd + 1 DVD (I wish blu Ray but my guess is that they will stick to DVD) with all the videos taken from the album. I wish they would do it in 4k, but real 1080p remastered would already be amazing. Maybe some making of, some TV appearance too
Each album in a box set like that... I'd buy in a heartbeat but that's a lot of work only à fan would be ready to do

Now we know why we are getting the videos in upscaled HD rather than 4K.
They are obviously saving the 4K stuff for physical release. 

Am I gonna get to relive her career all over again as an adult??!! Should I buy some lace gloves and cross earrings to prepare for such an occasion??
