Well said. The way some Kylie fans trash Madonna on her forum is just vile. I also remember the sicko on Madonna nation that made a disgusting “joke” about Kylie’s illness that I will never repeat.
Most people just love both. I grew up with them both and have always loved them both. Yes they are different but they also have a lot in common. The main one being that they have both been written off over and over and yet have both had incredible longevity.

The most wonderful thing about it is how genuinely happy they look to be with each other. Boy George must be fuming, he's so against Kylie. now (in Interview magazine there's another dig at her)
I'm thinking about Christophe from Lucky Records who was a fan of both and whom passed away 20 years ago exactly.

I believe the success of Prince's very basic 1 disc greatest hits (The Vert Best of Prince) in 2001 informed why they did a 1-disc version for Celebration. His was a great little one-stop-shop for the general public who just liked the big radio hits. In the streaming era, a 1-disc version has no real place, but this was originally released in 2009 when physical sales were all that mattered and GH releases were huge sellers in the 4th quarter. If you could squeeze an extra sale out of Sharon in HR who used to wear lace gloves in 1985 but never bought another album due to having 5 kids in the 90s or from or Bob in Accounts who thought she was hot in the Express Yourself video but would never get through 36 tracks, then a 1-disc was what was needed to be done. I'd probably swap out Dress You Up for Who's That Girl which was a summer #1 in several big markets, but I get why the rest are there and it's a fairly uptempo 1 disc.
Personally, I hate it though and wish they'd remove the multiple versions from online services and just leave us with the original 36 track version.

It's a GH's compilation.  She was just coming off a huge and successful tour.  The buzz was all there.  The record company seemed to be really pushing the hell out of this. There was a lot of promo behind with Warner for sure.  I just never felt she was very interested in GH's sets.  Still, she offered a couple new songs. That's typical from most artists.  Sure there is a push from the record company to add something new.  So she did it!  She even previewed a bit of Celebration on the second year of the tour.
If anything, I would have thought Warners would have used the opportunity of the Celebration Tour, to really whore this GH set out again. Maybe re-released the whole deal on all formats and tie it more into the tour.  Made sure it was available at the venues. It's a really good comprehensive album of her career. 

I've changed my mind about the ending after watching this.  We all judged it on the basis of a distanced insta live with people singing over it. Makes total sense to me seeing all the madonnas dance together and interact.  The attitude fits - yeah I did all these amazing things in my career but I'm still that girl.  Bitch.  I'm Madonna! ❤️

I’ve never been a fan of Candy Shop but then she performed it like this. She’s made me eat my words a lot over the years. I learned the hard way to never discount anything. And I do love that she’s not bending to her fans on it. Whether we like it or not, she’s going to do what she wants.  I love that about her. It’s a good lesson for everyone to do what you want in your careers etc. even if many don’t agree! 
 

No. One of her more recent background singers (sorry can't remember who) mentioned that they recorded background vocals for this tour but weren't traveling or physically on stage with her this time.

I've noticed a lot of nobodies who try to sell their books, memoirs or whatever like to talk about Madonna to sell their crap. People read the Madonna bit and skip the rest.
