madgefan got a reaction from Immaculate in One Sentence Loves- Celebration Tour
I love that she's genuinely happy on stage and that she finally realized her catalogue, including her least successful singles, is so huge and important that it's worth revisiting.

I love how at 65 she can convincingly recapture herself at 25 or 40 without looking absurd or caricatural.

madgefan reacted to Prayer in Single Reissues Campaign - Angel - OUT NOW
"American Pie" had been a massive UK #1 and one of the monster hits of that year in Europe, so putting it in was an extremely smart commercial decision that helped the album selling more than 11 million copies worldwide.
I'm very surprised she was so against that, she's always been smart with business - except for the reason she didn't want to share a cut of the album sales royalties with Don McLean for a song she didn't wrote.
Also, it's not like sonically "American Pie" it's miles away from the rest of the album, especially the Orbit tracks. It's literally the same vein.
When "Music", the album, was released, it already included two monster smashes: "American Pie" and "Music". Add "Don't Tell Me" weeks later and you have one of the biggest album sellers that Fall.
Hit singles sold albums back then.
Honestly, "American Pie" should have been even on "GHV2" too, but let's not go there.

madgefan reacted to Frank in Medellin 5 Year Anniversary
I remember watching the MTV premiere special when it was broadcasted and being with my mouth open about how gorgeous she looked in the video. About the song, when i 1st listened to it, i was a bit surprised, but when the "si te enamoro" part kicked in, wow, that was it!!! There was the chorus!!!!. For me, Madame X is one of her best albums, a beautiful inspired work of art, and those amazing videos... She put her heart and soul on the whole project.

madgefan reacted to DiegoLCL in Just realized something very interesting about the future Celebration Tour official release....
We will probably get the Rio footage mixed with 1000 cuts from other venues plus rehearsals and deal.
We are lucky to have a show being broacast live, the last time was Drowned World Tour, right? (Besides the MDNA Olympia pocket show and promo tours).

madgefan got a reaction from momosfantasy in American Life Single Cliffhanger Problem
I can't picture another pop star from back in the day or current releasing something so unpopular like American Life, flopping hard and having an epic comeback like Confessions On A Dance Floor 2 years later. Madonna can only be compared to herself

madgefan got a reaction from James19709 in Bullying on tour
I was actually asked to stand still and stop dancing during the Fado section at one of my London shows in 2020. This English woman behind thought I was gonna follow her instruction, I turned around, looked at her straight in the eye for 5 seconds and said nothing. I continued dancing all along. Didn't give 2 craps about it.
When I got to see Depeche Mode front row this fat lady asked me to move somewhere else because her friend was waiting for her... I just told her it wasn't my fault she didn't get to the venue earlier or couldn't run any faster and ignored her during the whole concert Later that evening, a young guy asked me to stop using my phone to take pictures or record videos, I turned around and asked him "Will you stop fucking with me?". He didn't say a thing.
I don't know. People at concerts behave in different ways, and I have learnt that when they detect you're attending on your own they believe they can get away with anything. I'm a teacher you know and will never tolerate other's crap behaviour.

It's always nice to arrive in a city and be greeted by Madonna's new tour advertising, and Las Vegas was surely full of it, at least in the surroundings of The T Mobile Arena, which I suppose belongs to the MGM group, as they had her advertising everywhere.
I had will call tickets for whatever strange reason, and after picking them up, I was led to a VIP entrance (by mistake), which led me to one of Madonna's security team members, who was a sweetheart and led me to the right way to the VIP table and to the Cocktail Area. There's absolutely nothing VIP there, so I rather went and spent my time on the floor, looking at people and making friends with whoever was entering the pit. I was on the left side, facing the pit.
The first act up to Like a Prayer: everything is impeccable, she's gorgeous, charming, full of energy, and the production and staging are spectacular.
LTT a special mention, it's very emotional to be surrounded by the power of the massive photos; our girl surely conveys emotion in this number.
Madonna has grown older, but so have her fans. She looks amazing. I'm always impressed by how small she is.
I've been in the front many times in the past, including Madame X, but this time she spends more time in a location not moving around the stage, so that gives you the possibility to actually be in her presence for a longer period of time, which seems so odd and magical. She has been my champion and my inspiration for 40 years, and she's there right in front of me.
Second Act Erotica to Bad Girl: OMG!!! Loved everything. It's impossible to see everything as everything is happening all around you all the time.
DAD, which Madonna is so good. I didn't like this act in the videos, but live is great. Obviously, "Don't Tell Me" and "Express Yourself" are great too. "Mother and Father" is a very strong number.
La Isla is when I think everyone in the arena erupts into a real singalong.
Now is when things get a little messy. BS, which I love, is a WTF moment, compensated by the incredible ROL, which you need to see the front of the stage to see the dancers and the whole laser display as it's spectacular because if you follow her flying around the air its impossible to capture the whole performance, and then TAB, which was understood as a closure to the show, but this whole section is one great number in the middle of two wtf moments, which arent bad but you know what i mean.
MJ interlude gets people going, and BIM too, I would love for her to have a little more interaction than Thnak you Las Vegas but she has already had two big crowd interactions previously in the night.
The second night I was on the other pit, which I thought was going to be less interesting, but how mistaken I was. It was a much better perspective of the show and a much better show in general. The crowd was very much into the show the second time around.
In the arena, she sounded great. I'm glad I'm so tone-deaf that I truly enjoyed everything she sang and got emotional just by hearing the oldies and being in her presence.
Its an amazing show, I still have to rate in my show ranking but it surely will rate high enough.
MADONNA THANK YOU FOR SAVING OUR LIVES ONE SONG AT A TIME FOR THE LAST 40 YEARS
I LOVE U
