The flag version. 

It's my least favorite album of hers, replacing Like a Virgin which had previously been my least favorite. Madame X has a couple of bops now that I've taken the time to listen to it a bit more in the hopes that it would grow on me, but mostly I find it to be an unbalanced monstrosity that tries too hard to come across as avant-garde. It's contrived and pretentious, with few redeeming factors to make it worthwhile.

Taylor getting the award is fitting I guess given that her album sales and streaming are pretty impressive, although ironically her singles in the past couple of years have performed quite mediocrely; Cardigan and Willow both dropped like rocks in the US after just one week on the chart, and the latter only went #1 because Taylor's people discounted it like three times and released just as many remixes because Mariah's Xmas song was originally going to block it.
But really, it's such a pointless award so I don't care that Madonna didn't win it. Madonna > Taylor overall regardless.

Am I the only one that kinda gets let down when something so great doesn't come straight from her and her close songwriters? She's smart enough to use all the elements but I would have loved it if Sky Fits Heaven and Ray of Light lyrics had been birthed by her.

The fact that she was willing to appear in a Snoop Dogg video but not in Dua's Levitating video is sending me.

They're probably saving it for a special occasion or something. Tbh I'm not really impressed with these "upscale" video releases; I can barely tell the difference in quality between them and the older versions, so to me it seems like a waste of time.

Tbh I've always been bothered by how much hate this album received (and still receives even to this day) in terms of its production. While I personally dislike some of the lyrics including all of Spanish Lesson and the bridges on Give It 2 Me and Heartbeat, I think that the production value on Hard Candy is top notch, and it irks me when people diss Timbaland and Pharrell even though they did their best.
That said, I'm still disappointed over the fact that Animal and Across the Sky didn't make the album, and Ring My Bell deserved a spot on the standard version as well. I personally can't stand Spanish Lesson however, and She's Not Me and Incredible should've been 2 minutes shorter each imo. Other than that, the album is great.
