Don't know if this is the lead single from the new album. I could be wrong, but it seems it may just be this era's Live to Tell, Into the Groove, This Used to be My Playground, I'll Remember, You Must Love Me, American Pie, Beautiful Stranger, or DAD. But from her IG, it’s looking pretty official that this is gonna be the first single. And if it’s also the soundtrack for the movie, we might see her perform ‘Messiah’ at the Golden Globes and The Oscars!

With a title like "Messiah" she isn't going to keep it from being on her new album.  Also all of those songs songs, ended up being a huge or decent hit. A number of them did end up on the album she was working on. In fact, "Live To Tell" from the start of the release, was being planned to be included on TRUE BLUE.

It's definitely gonna be on her next album, it's gonna be that odd down tempo song like isaac on confessions. I can't picture unapologetic bitch or bitch I'm Madonna to sound like this.

Anyways, this is going to be a great amazing song, everyone loves M's ballads. When are the Oscars/GG? she needs an oscar   , it's a shame Masterpiece wasn't nominated.

^ Masterpiece should have been released as the first single to promote both WE and the album. I'm praying that 'Messiah' is also the soundtrack for The Giver cos' Madonna + movie soundtrack equals perfection.

I agree about "Masterpiece". It was actually getting a bit of recognition especially in Europe. They should have rushed a single release let that be the lead single. GMAYL was great for the Superbowl and to hype up the tour, but with MASTERPIECE already being a single, people would have had something more to guage the new album on.

12. Love You From The Inside Out [these might just be lyrics] http://instagram.com/p/nII8DgGEVP/

My thoughts...

"Living For Love" and "Love You From the Inside Out" might be one in the same.  Whatever the case, I do think that  the latter are lyrics and not a title.

"Messiah"... while not confirmed, but with all the chatter and IG (especially with the lyrics and  Orchestra), we can gather it's definitely a song and most likely the lead into the album if not to a Soundtrack song as well. Though, the "soundtrack" idea is still a big rumor. But the connection to "The Giver" and the lyrics do make sense together

"Rebel Heart" - I do think this is definitely an early song worked on with Avicii. Believe this song or another Avicii produced track will end up kicking off the album's release whether it's a first or second single.

"Iconic" - I am not sure I believe this is a song, but just a hashtag she was using describing certain things happening in her life.

"Bitch, I'm Madonna" and "Unapologetic Bitch" are probably one in the same. If so, I prefer the latter. The self reference is a bit tacky and will probably get a lot of negative attention. If it's buried in the album or part of the Deluxe Version, I'm sure it will be fine.

"Art For Freedom"/"Revolution of Love" - I would say the latter makes more sense to be a track, but I do think (especially "Art For Freedom") they are just in reference to the project of the same name.

"Holy Water" - Not sure what to think about this one. It's been thrown out there. An odd hash tag that I don't recall being used in reference to anything you'd think it would be related to, so it's possible.

"Body Shop" - Again, not sure about this one. Another random hashtag thrown out there and highly possible a song.

Veni Vidi Vici - I don't believe this is a song. I think she simply used it as a way to expressed she finished something at the time. Though, I would love to see this as the title of the album. Would make a good tour name too.

My further thoughs or possibly my hopes.  The album won't probably come until late October or early November.  She's going to release two singles before the album. With the talk of "Messiah", I think it's possible we're getting a ballad or midtempo ballad first to kick things off.  It would be awesome if it is tied to a soundtrack such as "The Giver" which will give it further exposure. Closer to the album's release, I think we're going to get a dance and/or pop song probably produced by Avicii and they will use his name to help get it radio plays.

Holy water, I think it's a song title, maybe the collaboration with natalia Kills? Plus there is this snippet, which does really sound like M's voice. If it's fake, then they've a done a great job

Veni Vidi Vici is really a cool title, she's thrown this hashtag quite a few times. I have a feeling this is going one of my fav songs from this album.

Well, we kinda have. As in the article, the writer mentions about a couple months ago that he had heard that she may be doing a soundtrack song. That's been rumored a lot within the Madonna communities. Though, it's not a far fetched idea for Madonna  to record a soundtrack song,  so that's why it's so easy to assume that as well.  Futhermore, she's been posting hints (Messiah) on her twitter, and several major publications have picked up on it... namely Billboard.com and Rollingstone.com.

The movie is due out on August 15th. Most of the time, songs from soundtracks that become singles are released ahead of the film. So we might be getting a new song within the next few weeks.

If this is all true, I'll be interested in the video used for the song... will she just use film footage from the movie, or will she film scenes to create her own story in the video? Then again, it could be a mix.

And if true, it would be a perfect way to grab the general public's attention and possibly score a decent hit single, especially if the film becomes a huge success. It does look promising.[/quote)

True. But could also just be soundtrack song. Not necessarily a single like Masterpiece. Good way to generate buzz.

The first single from the movie has been released, it's One Republic. I'm assuming it's the title track, and the one that will be used during the credits since it has been released first with a video. I think if 'Messiah' makes it on, it's just going to be a soundtrack song.

The premise for my thoughts is ‘the album will be connected with Art for Freedom/Revolution of Love’ project.

"Living For Love" and "Love You from the Inside Out" might or might not be the same. As I noted in my list, I also think that the latter are lyrics and not a title, but I don’t think they are lyrics to ‘Living for Love’.  https://twitter.com/MDNADailyTweets/status/465188491765501952/photo/1 [Living for Love - Partial Lyrics]

"Messiah"- is confirmed by Liz Rosenberg as a new song https://www.facebook.com/LizRosenbergMedia  The only unsure thing is whether this is the lead song as well as a soundtrack song. While it is a huge rumor, the lyrics do seem to fit ‘The Giver’.

"Rebel Heart" - This was Madonna’s first hint of the new album on her IG and many believed then that this was gonna be the album title. Album title or not, I believe this is definitely a song. It might or might not have been re worked into something else like how Bang Bang became Gang Bang.

"Iconic" - I believe this might be a song. She hash tagged this with a lot of past icons whom she also mentioned how they fought for freedom through their art in the L'Uomo Vogue article. http://www.vogue.it/en/uomo-vogue/cover-story/2014/05/madonna  From the article, I’m inclined to believe that this might be a tribute song to past and present freedom fighters. In addition to Frida Kahlo, she also mentioned “artists like Marvin Gaye, Stevie Wonder, Richard Pryor or Jean-Luc Godard made political statements through their art". She also talked about Jean-Michel Basquiat and Keith Haring, who addressed social issues through art in a direct way, as do many artists in Art for Freedom.

"Bitch, I'm Madonna" and "Unapologetic Bitch" - These might be different titles for the same song. At first, I couldn’t see how these titles are related to the Art for Freedom project. But on second thoughts, she said that the Secretprojectrevolution calls for a "Love revolution […] a revolution of independent thought, of having your own opinion and not giving a damn about what people say". Reflecting on the many battles against stereotyping that Madonna has fought in her life, it’s clear what she’s unapologetic for. The universal message is probably telling us to fight for what we believe in and not be apologetic for it.

"Art for Freedom"/"Revolution of Love" - I strongly believe the new era is more than the album and the tour. They are just parts of the whole ‘Art for Freedom’ project. That said, song(s) titled "Art for Freedom"/"Revolution of Love" are pretty self-explanatory.

"Holy Water" - As this was hash tagged with the Natalie Kills’ pix, I assume this to be their collaboration. This title reminds me of ROL’s Swim where she tackles the subject of baptism. Holy water is a symbol of spiritual cleansing, and its use is advised in moments of physical danger and against temptations from spiritual enemies. Blessing one’s self with holy water obtains forgiveness for our sins, and rededicates our spiritual life. She once hash tagged #speakthetruthandshamethedevil http://instagram.com/p/lEAGhMGEYH/  And not surprisingly, devils and demons seem to find water … the ordinary kind … and especially the holy kind … totally repugnant.

"Body Shop" â€“ I remember the debate on whether Infosys is a body shop.  In the IT industry  "body shop" refers to the IT workers who handle outsourcing information. If this is a song, it’s prob. about acquiring knowledge, info, and speaking the truth. I base this on her IG:

“We have Art in order not to die from the truthâ€
“You all need to stop talking shit! Nothing good to say?â€
“Read Much.? ………..try this old fashioned cure for insomnia, ignorance and lack of imagination!â€
“Knowing a little bit of the truth is more dangerous than knowing nothing at all……,.,:,::;,,,,,;,,;…….. #wtfâ€

"Knowledge is power"

Veni Vidi Vici -  Julius Caeser said this in his famous victory statement to the Roman Senate. He described how/what he did on his campaign. (veni (I came), vidi (I saw), vici (I conquered). Madonna is not only still the greatest pop icon of our time, but also the one most committed to the fight for human rights, as demonstrated by her frequent public statements, her humanitarian work and her recent project Secretprojectrevolution and Art for Freedom. Throughout her career, Madonna has fought many battles against stereotyping.  We have seen how the media and critics try to write her off time and time again but yet she emerged victorious. This could be a song about fighting for freedom and being victorious despite all odds.

It’s looking very likely that the album is gonna be released in the fall, earliest in October and latest in November. It would be cool if she released 2 singles prior to album release. If she does, we should be getting the first single very soon.

Okay, I just googled and while the full song (One Republic's "Ordinary Human") is not available (at least on youtube... yet), it's tied to many of the trailers. I'm beginning to have doubts Madonna is tied to this soundtrack now. One Republic will get a lot of exposure for their track. They are pretty popular. It would be sad if they just include a song like "Messiah" on their soundtrack (with the rumor of an orchestra) and just let it be an album track. Not that they can't release various singles from the Soundtrack, but I would think they would want to promote a movie with a huge artist like Madonna right from the start.

I conclude, that the song might still be part of a Soundtrack, but I don't think it's "The Giver".  I am not sure where this rumor started, but other than wishful thinking on some people's part?

If it's for an upcoming film, I would think it would be for something huge and that relate to the song's message and title. What other film is soon to be released in the next couple of months that this song could fit?

Good question. It could be for a different movie and not The Giver. Hmmmm....

The thing is we're just assuming that orchestra she posted playing a song, was to Messiah. We can't even be sure of that even though she did hashtagged "Messiah" to it and posted sheet music to the song prior. There's a chance it might just be her way of throwing us off. Hell, maybe the sheet music isn't even to her song. She just found it and thought it would be fun to post it to continue keep people guessing.

But Liz posted it on her facebook and said it was "her new song" , and now we have like 4 or 5 messiah posts, I'm pretty sure it's a new song. Plus Madonna loves strings.

Why would she want to throwing us off? do you still believe in the surprise album theory? :kitty:
