I think many on this list are kind of wrong lol

Ava max (speculated to drop late 24)

Ariana - (Eternal Sunshine drops March 24)

Dua Lipa - (2 singles and rumours of a June drop after Taylor / Ari / Bey)

Pet shop boys ( New Album Nonetheless drops April 26th)

Kylie - Again were either in for another Deluxe with a handful of additional tracks but she is also keen to crack on with the next album quickly and build on success of Padam and possible US tour)

Jessie ware (I know for a fact that the Deluxe for That! Feels Good (April 23) has been shelved and they're cracking on with a new album to piggyback of the success of her last era. With stuff recorded for the shelved deluxe done already and new material in the back with named collaborators. I wouldn't rule out a 4th quarter release..a single at the very least.)

Miley Cyrus - Already working on album since September 2023 rumoured for 24 release. https://www.capitalfm.com/news/music/miley-cyrus-new-music-album/

Billie Eilish - Will release new album in 2024 https://www.capitalfm.com/news/billie-eilish-when-third-album/

    The rumours

Britney rumours - This is the biggest ask. She said she'll never return but I think she may

Mariah Rumours (Mariah said new music is "on the Horizon" in November)

Beyoncé part 2 rumours has already been announced since I made this post (new album 29-03-24)

even Janet is going back out on tour again with rumours of Europe and god willing new music finally

Add Madonna to that mix and we eating good as hell.

  2. I’ll Remember and Playground are more Erotica era for my money. Bookends. But also both are neither so.
I wonder if anymore songs were written for the soundtracks. We never really hear of those outside of DSS & Vision quest.
It’s an area we never really dive into as fans really and there could be a wealth of stuff we just having really spent anytime thinking about. I always wonder if there were more written for WTG, A League Of Their Own. Insane that Shanghai Surprize never had a Madonna pitch after the success of Into The Groove. Specifically as George Harrison was a musician himself.
Body Of Evidence. Bloodhounds Of Broadway was always a film I thought she’d pop a song on.

  3. Honestly the mini disc was the very best new format. The disc format itself looked a little ugly but it was using way less plastic and no scratches great for storage.
The problem was it came too soon after the CD went mainstream and they were priced too high. People had only just upgraded their systems and collections.
Was always the superior format for me.
I’d love a newer version of the Mini Disc that was a bit more chunky and retro feeling. Not like an 8 track but something proper 70’s and a double sided reader and increased capacity. Like those 100 minute CD’s that came out.  Hi MD looked promising. I think they’d fly off the shelves.
An artists catalogue on one disc.
    so great.

  4. It would also have taken less than a day to change the forthcoming Celebration track list and update it to tie in with the tour.

    * denotes shorter available edit used

This would still fit on 4 discs and contain the eight main singles from The Celebration Tour that don't feature on the compilation.

22 mins is the maximum side you can have on a vinyl before the quality starts to becomes compromised.

Longest disc on original Celebration album was 21:31 so another 30 secs to minute would be fine

    Digital Only tracks -

    • I Don't Search I Find - 4:08
    • Miles Away - 3:45

(which I removed from the vinyl version as it was likely only included because it had been her latest single)

In truth we could do with some Stuart Price "Shep" style edits on some of the 90's songs for any future compilations. Secret & Human Nature in particular have a fair bit of fat / repeats towards the end even in the single edit versions and I also love the Stevie B "no instrumental bridge" version of Bad Girl at 3:55

I'm a huge fan of really concise edits as long as they're really sympathetically done.

I think a lot has been achieved in 3 years- how many singles have been released digitally - RSD releases and the infamous FEL.

FEL is really the only thing we could describe as substantial to come our way. (And she still managed to fuck with it, sorry I mean “personally curate” it with CAC being dumped)

That’s it. A deleted picture disc for a song from her least successful era, while cute and thoughtful, is not a big deal. I do appreciate these little things for the die hards  but they really are the windows mite when it comes to availability of back catalogue.

I think it just speaks to how deprived of any kind of back catalogue goodies over the years we've been, that we get semi’s over the potential of an actual 7” version of a song (the version the world came to know and fall in love with) being made available on the major platform for music. While the majority of major artists have had the vast majority of theirs available for years.

The press release led with the Expanded Editions angle.
From the leaks she has suffered in recent times and questions from journalists about her vault, she knows well enough what the fans want and that a coloured vinyl with some old already available remixes just won’t cut it with much of the fanbase.

The point of this Warner deal is to maximise profits. As one of the holy Trinity she can not be the first one to put out a Celebratory landmark edition with no new unreleased songs. Prince & Michael have done it and she knows she needs to too.

Though they need to get a hurry on. The vinyl reassurance is reaching saturation point and vinyl fatigue is setting in with many collectors. The prices are making people less impulse led and people are saving their coin for the real must haves, often just one from each artist for their collection. I think Celebration vinyl will do really well.

When they come and when they have the additional unreleased content, ( which let's be honest, is pretty much the bedrock of this entire forum),  she’ll have my money. Until then save the turtles tbh.

  6. 2024 is due to be the biggest bumper pop year in absolutely years.

  7. I think you'd have to get creative in terms of "Ballads" per se and we'd probably need some stripped back versions of her bigger hits to pad it out. her commercial power isn't where it was in 95 and a compilation that read.

The original STR was actually only 13 songs (the length of Erotica) with an orchestral version as a bonus track.

With three brand new songs they only had to choose ten songs from her back catalogue.

If they were to do it again I actually think it would be a better idea to include Secret too. I was never sure why it was missed out first time round. I know it's not a ballad but it was a pretty substantial hit for her and a huge part of her public reset.

    1. New Song
    2. New Song
    3. New Song
    4. Frozen
    5. The Power Of Goodbye
    6. Don't Cry For Me Argentina
    7. What It Feels Like For A Girl
    8. Secret
    9. Ghosttown
    10. Masterpiece
    11. Crave
    12. Nothing Fails
    13. Drowned World

At this point in her career though most people wont even be aware of Something To Remember first time round so a reedition updated is probably the way to go leaving some stuff behind on the first edition to make it purchasable and they'd need something rare for the fans. I think Rain, Argentina and Bad Girl would possibly be included after the Celebration Tour. I cannot see any casual expecting to pick up a Madonna Ballad compilation that doesn't include Crazy For You, Live To Tell and Take A Bow. Sadly I think Nothing Fails would become the Look Of Love of the compilation (ie dumped)

The lead would 100% be a collab with someone for the profile.

    1. New Song (duet lead single)
    2. New Song
    3. New Song
    4. Frozen
    5. The Power Of Goodbye
    6. Ghosttown
    7. Live To Tell
    8. Bad Girl
    9. Crave
    10. Drowned World
    11. Rain
    12. Masterpiece
    13. Crazy For You
    14. Take A Bow

But that's me with my corporate record head on. It would probably be sold as an updated version of the original.

  8. I still find the album a tough listen If I'm honest. It's pretty heavy actually. A reflection of the world's state I suppose. The light moment like Bitch Im Loco and Faz seem a bit forced / commercially cynical for me too so I never run to put it on. I also loathe Dark Ballet. What an absolute dirge and at track two it's such a buzz killer. I also think the melodies tart great and then don't lead anywhere or resolve which leaves me feeling blue balled. Looking For Mercy has the most sublime verses and then that chorus is so lazy. It could have been one of her very very best. Madame X is an art piece. I admire it from a far and respect it greatly but I don't love it at all sadly. Great era in so many ways indeed though. Apart from the interviews which were woefull and one of my favourite parts of promo. I remember welling up the first time I heard Medellin. So joyful. and then then rest of the album was so so so very dark. I felt a bit mislead but hey. it's a great body of work.

  9. Girls lets' be real one of us could probably do a better job of uploading her digital singles in a single afternoon. They've stopped sourcing rare versions and the scans are poor. They're dragging it out like a mother fucker and offering these little side plates because no main course has been served from her in nearly five years. Some reissued picture discs, some cute (at times) features and a fairly decent and almost comprehensive remix album...which is essentially what the remix eps are anyway.

I'm not hating I'm just being real.

Team Madonna has essentially been this for half a decade now.

  10. The White one is way more appealing. The dark haired one is so quintessentially  Rain. I know the still  for the white one is from the Deeper & Deeper video but it's much less direct to the main looks. I also know she's had other video stills for singles covers but the Rain one in particular. It would be like having the Papa Don't Preach single cover for Open Your Heart. And of all the stunning cinematography in the rain video they chose.....that blurry ass pic. make it make sense.

I don't quite understand why the lag started developing in her single covers. True Blue era was absolute perfection in terms of the right covers for the right singles and it's never really been as good since. I wish it had been a theme that had continued throughout her career.

  11. So we're getting nothing this month. Maybe Crazy For You early for Valentines day of to twin with the UK re-release?

could be cute otherwise March we may get a cute little run.

    MARCH

    • Crazy For You - March 2, 1985 / February 18, 1991
    • Girl Gone Wild - March 2, 2012 ( I so want the Justin Cognito radio edit version but I'm dreaming here it'll never come)
    • One More Chance - March 7, 1996 (also unlikely to happen)
    • I'll Remember - March 15, 1994
    • Another Suitcase In Another Hall - March 18, 1997 (nothing new to add)
    • Love Don't Live Here Anymore - March 19, 1996*** (There's still a bunch of missing remixes but again unlikely)
    • Live To Tell - March 26, 1986*
  12. I wouldn’t put it past her to have reworked those early demos into something new that spruce them up and keep that rock spin. A re record. Like Taylor has. She loves to keep things fresh. I can’t imagine a bunch of dusty poorly recorded demos from 81 would be her offering, but with Stuart back in the picture, (who loves that sort of stuff), I can defo see Drowning 2024 or Take Me I Want You remake.
    Id love that.

  13. Looking at the PreMadonna page on Wiki about Bray:

They worked on a number of songs, with production provided by Bray: "Ain't No Big Deal", "Laugh to Keep from Crying", "Crimes of Passion", "Don't You Know", and "Stay", along with some songs that Madonna had previously written and recorded, including "Everybody" and "Burning Up". The latter two songs were accepted for Madonna's self-titled debut album in reworked versions produced by Reggie Lucas.

I wonder if the other songs were pitched for the Debut too? Bray did Say Crimes Of Passion was unsalvageable music wise so the stuff on the Pre-Madonna CD is a 1997 recreation of those sounds. To me Crimes Of Passion sounds like something that could have been on the WTG soundtrack. It has a Can't Stop feel to it. Very Poppy.

My Dream for the debut re-release is one disc of the cream of the various pre Debut tracks to show her journey up until that point.

    1. I Want You ( Take Me) (Gotham Sound Studios Demo)
    2. Get Up (Gotham Sound Studios Demo)
    3. Love On The Run (Gotham Sound Studios Demo)
    4. High Society (Gotham Sound Studios Demo)
    5. Are You Ready For It (Gotham Sound Studios Demo)
    6. Remembering Your Touch (Gotham Sound Studios Demo)
    7. Laugh To Keep From Crying (Steve Bray Demos)
    8. Don't You Know (Steve Bray Demos)
    9. Crimes Of Passion (Steve Bray Demos)
    10. Ain't No Big Deal (81)(Steve Bray Demos)
    11. Shine A Light
    12. Love Express
    13. Safe Neighbourhood (On The Ground)
    14. Little Boy Lost
    15. Tell The Truth (Breakfast Club)
    16. Bells Ringing (Emmy)
    17. Drowning (Emmy)
    18. Love For Tender (Emmy)
    19. No Time For Love (Emmy)

Disc 2 (all stuff either pro recorded for first album or early demos of them plus other songs she did around this time)

    1. Ain't No Big Deal (81)
    2. Burning Up (81)
    3. Everybody (81)
    4. Shake Your Head (Was Not Was)
    5. Sidewalk Talk (Jellybean demo)
    6. We Live In a House (82) (Spinal root Gang Demo)

I can't remember the name of the song we got a snippet of when she was listening to her old demos on her insta stories. Also would be cool to hear songs like

    1. Afltergo
    2. Rock Your Body
    3. Girl With The Stars In Her Eyes
    4. Swing With Me
    5. Cherish

if they ever made it to recoding stage.

Like A Virgin deluxe would feel more correct containing songs that were actually used on the album.

    1. Don't You Know (81)
    2. Stay (81)
    3. Born To Be a Dancer ( early version of Over & Over)
