My vote goes to Borrowed Time, it turned out on the album to be so beautiful! Although Ghost and Wash are close behind. Love what Kanye did with Wash and went bare bones; wouldn't think he would.

Borrowed Time, even if not as much as Joan of Arc and Beautiful Scars, has an arrangement that doesn't help.

HeartBreakCity is wonderful, very musical, but Ghosttown is very consistent. Should have been a #1 single.

Ghosttown is such so typically Madonna but from the era it stands out. But it's better than half the stuff on Something to Remember. *runs away*

It's not a that slow - it's more midtempo with Joan of Arc and like Body Shop. I included BT because melody changes make it slower.

depends on your definition of ballad tbh. The beats on JOA sound very forced and out of place.

I love them all, Ghosttown was one IMHO the best single released in 2015, but Messiah has turned out to be my fave among the slow songs on the album

I think Inside Out is the most romantic song on the album.

 

I chose Wash All Over Me because it's so beautiful. I think Messiah is the most romantic love wise of the selections above but I am not sure if that is where the song is going.

 

I am confused again by ballads. Are there sub categories for ballads?

Wow, now we're getting into the definitions of a ballad again.  I would have answered "Ghosttown" but I do not consider that to be a ballad.  Therefore, I answered "Heartbreak City", that is such an excellent track, raw emotion.
