  1. 100% this. The most important Remix for each song and that's it. Maybe also some feats, as many names were rumored to appear in it. I swear, if they don't use the MC stereo mix of Frozen..... default_angryaf.gif

However, is that the version of Frozen that went to number one on the Billboard dance chart back in the day? Shouldn’t that be the one that makes the cut?!
All the (original) Frozen remixes are perfection, really.
  2. It's true that is taking "long" (for us fans anyway) but we could be facing different scenarios here:
    - A change of plans due to the "Frozen" remix success. Let's admit it: it's the closest thing to a hit she's had in years. Maybe the reissue of "Ray Of Light" wasn't planned yet but "Frozen" remix changed it all and now they're on it.
    - The 50 Dance #1s release. Actually this could be a good way to "reintroduce" Madonna as the popular "hitmaker" and then roll on the reissues later.
    - The fact that she is personally curating the deluxe editions.
    - Manufacturing plants delays.
    - A first multi-album release. If the first one is a box with more than an album, that's a lot of work.
    - Dates: we know she's all into that. The new Warner deal was announced on her birthday last year. Maybe she or they want the first release to be in October 2022 to make it 40 years since the first single.
    We'll see...

You speak a lot of sense.

Well, she’s a writer, not an actor. She doesn’t live on camera, let alone have her working process filmed and shown to anyone on Instagram.
Even Erin looks awkward in those videos too, because she refers to herself as an introvert. Some people are meant to be behind the camera, not in front of it.
Mind you, this isn’t the first time Diablo spoke about her writing process with Madonna, the previous times she was very positive about it.

I hear what you’re saying, but I think the interactions were awkward.

I imagine that it would be hard to assert your voice in that dynamic.

Did anyone else see that second, longer Frozen remix video BTS? There's a moment where Ricardo, who is directing, suggests that M do a retake because it was a great take (to have another option, I suppose), and she says something along the lines of "no, I don't want to" to which he says "okay, so I guess we're not going to then", effectively undermining him in front of the crew he is apparently meant to play a key role in leading.

Anyway, it's always interesting to see how M interacts with people, particular these days.

    Edit: Here it is:

  4. So much for people (mostly Madonna's own fans) thinking that Diablo quit because Madonna was too difficult to work with. It's normal for films to have multiple writers and to go through revisions. Diablo did her job, they turned in their draft, and she moved on to her next project.

It doesn’t mean the experience wasn’t pleasant for her.
She could be grateful for it but also be putting a diplomatic PR spin on it.
She sure looked awkward in those videos…
  5. She was already working on it in the studio tho, so a release must be "imminent". The fact we haven't gotten tease or news in more than a month is definitely due to the Frozen Remixes not to distract fans from the new release, but at this point it is close. I mean, it's just taking the best remix of each song and reworking and adding a possible feature, I get that it's 50 songs we're talking about but holy crap, these are already existing songs, I need to shake my ass to that megamix before summer absolutely lol

    Hold up…
Was it ever confirmed what will constitute this remixes release? Last I recall, an old Club 69 remix of NRM was playing in the background of a video showing her working on the release.
I’ve never expected anything more than previously released remixes compiled together (just not a mere playlist).
Where are these higher expectations coming from?

This is thing non fans or general public will think Madonna is doing this it comes across as she’s trying to rewrite history. These can’t be fans if they’re doing this to pictures because no fan would make her look as disgusting as that.

Then there’s the case of M recently posting someone’s yassafied pic of her at TRL with 50 Cent. Baffling.

  7. It was a nice performance. A decent rendition of a classic song. I wish there was nothing detracting from that for me… but:
    1.  Why not film the performance ‘properly’ with a decent camera and microphone - and at least put it in landscape, not portrait.

    2.  Her own introduction to this performance says that artists are here to ‘disturb the peace’. Really? In a time of war, when we are literally hoping and praying for peace…? Trying to get a MX tie-in here is unnecessary and the language is ill-judged.
    3. That picture behind her. I could not believe it. The news is literally full of images of shallow graves and people finding their loved ones’ bodies on the side of roads in Ulkraine. I could not take that out of my mind for the whole performance. Maybe that was the intention…? She could have switched the picture for something more befitting.
A nice performance, but I do not think that because it is for a ‘good cause’ that it is beyond reproach. Of course, any artist sees the value of contributing to such an event and for the contributing to the greater good - but they also see it as a public relations opportunity for their own cause.

    I like you. You’re smart.

I'm sure there will be some embellishments. No biopic is ever 100% accurate and the movie needs to have a flow but there's a difference between dramatizing a situation and defaming someone's character. Not that Ike Turner was a model citizen, but the writers and producers for What's Love Got to Do With It clearly had an agenda to villainize him more than necessary and sanitize Tina's character. It makes for a good Hollywood movie but as someone who is a fan of Ike & Tina Turner's discography as a duo and has read both of their autobiographies, the movie makes them look like caricatures. Angela Bassett and Laurence Fishburne did great with what they were given, but the movie does not show why Ike & Tina Turner were regarded as one of the best live acts or how they broke racial barriers with their music. There's not much about Tina's songwriting (she wrote many songs other than "Nutbush City Limits"), nothing about the various record labels Ike started to release music for singers in his band (Jimi Hendrix was briefly in his band too), nothing about their Bolic Sound recording studio and owning their own music.
I hope with Madonna's movie that her personal life doesn't overshadow her groundbreaking career. I also hope since she has had two co-writers that she has allowed herself to be shown in a realistic light.

The general public are generally basic and don’t appreciate layers and nuance, and that combined with the medium that it is leads to a simplification/caricaturing of characters, unfortunately…

That’s why less years covered will allow for said nuance.

  9. It's an entertaining movie with great acting but it's not a good biopic. There are too many inaccuracies. Even Tina doesn't like it because they changed so much of her story. Tina didn't have control over the script, that's something Madonna didn't want to happen and fans shouldn't either. What's Love Got to Do with It is only loosely based on Tina's autobiography I, Tina. A lot of scenes were fabricated such as the hospital scene, cake scene, rape scene, and gun scene. The movie even leaves out that Tina had her first child when was 18 with a musician in Ike's band. Tina and Ike both sold their rights so he couldn't sue for defamation. Tina was obligated to record the soundtrack and promote it.

Madonna will do her own fabricating… Trust lol!
  10. I believe that Madonna's singing skills have been bad lately because she's put on weight. Problem is Even if she's gain weight, it might not matter if she accepts it and sings in comfortable clothes. The real problem is that she has gained weight but still wants to look slim to the public. So she tightens the corset as much as she can. So at the end of the day she has no room to breathe and she has no choice but to sing badly as if she's panting.
If she do healthy diet and lose 10kg of her fat she will be fine to sing beautifully again.

Restricted diaphragmatic breathing is an issue. Look at Mariah!

According to her friend and stylist Maripol, ‘She would come over when she was doing Desperately Seeking Susan and say she didn’t like the costumes. I would say: “You’re a singer! You have to look like you.” I insisted she keep her jewelry, the crosses and stuff.’

Can anybody remind me in which interview Maripol suggests that M had a personality disorder, and that’s why she was constantly changing so drastically?
