There's no doubt that Madonna's R18-rated Rebel Heart Tour concert at the National Stadium is shaping up to be one of the biggest gigs of the year, if not the decade.

On Feb 28, history will be made as the legendary US pop diva performs in Singapore for the first time.

As of yesterday, 80 to 90 per cent of tickets to the show, which reportedly cost its Taiwanese investors US$10 million (S$14m), have been sold.

In response to demand for cheaper tickets, organisers have cut out some tickets in the $688 category and opened up a new category of $388 standing room tickets facing the centre stage. These will go on sale today.

The more expensive Category 1 to 3 tickets, priced at $488 to $688, are still available.

VIP tickets at an eye-watering $1,288 each are also still up for grabs.

Tickets in the $108 to $288 range have sold out.

As one of the most iconic and polarising female musicians in the history of music, the 57-year-old mum of four has drawn both adoring fans and vitriolic haters in her 36-year career.

But love her or hate her, Madge cannot be ignored.

I'm not happy about the segement being changed or amende, will she remove the S.E.X. Interlude as well?

If she changes her show where did Blond Ambition Madonna go? "I Am Not Changing My Show Freddie"

All this talk about not censoring yourself and being a rebel heart, this is censorship no matter how it's dressed up

Same here! I won't be shocked or disappointed either! That's a fact she will perform in one of the strictest country in term of legislation, where the religion is a highly sensitive matter, everybody knows that Singapore is so far away from the reality, it's sad but it's true!

She has no other choice than to deal with it and to obey the law! Being a rebel heart doesn't mean being an anarchist!

Let's be positive: As some have said, if she gonna remove Holy Water, who knows? we might get a surprise instead  :-)

Let's be negative: or maybe nothing... see the sad destiny of the Medley and poor Who's that girl... :Madonna027:

But I hope @@Fighter and @@Gargamel are right!!!!

That's the thing! After removing the Medley and Who's That Girl from the show I really hope she's not gonna shorten it even more! That would be a crime!!!

And, honestly, If she'd sing Burning Up then directly Devil Pray, the transition between both would be kind of weird :/

"I want to start a revolution. Are you with me?"

Oh wait, 14million? Forget that revolution, let me change my show to please you. Forget ArtForFreedom, forget "be prepared to die for what you believe in".

Courtney Love once told me "money is Madonna's pornography." It's true. Always has been, always will be.

You CANNOT be a Rebel Heart and not rebel against nonsense. The show is "Capitalist Heart". She has to make her divorce money back somehow.

I don't think so. The resonating guitar can fade into the church bells from Devil Pray. It's all added effect anyways.

Madonna aware of cultural sensitivities, says spokesperson

FRIDAY 26 FEBRUARY 2016

http://www.todayonline.com/entertainment/music/madonna-aware-cultural-sensitivities-says-spokesperson

SINGAPORE — The Madonna tour group has broken its silence for the first time, since the Catholic Church and other religious organisations expressed their concerns over the American pop superstar’s concert earlier this week.

“The Rebel Heart Tour is aware of the cultural sensitivities, and Madonna is excited to share her celebration of art and music with her fans in Singapore,†a spokesperson from Madonna’s Rebel Heart Tour said on Thursday (Feb 25) in an e-mail statement to TODAY.

Earlier this week, the Catholic Church revealed its “grave concerns†about the Rebel Heart Tour concert. Archbishop William Goh had also reminded Catholic Christians of their moral obligation not to support “the ‘pseudo arts’ that promote sensuality, rebellion, disrespect, pornography, contamination of the mind of the young, abusive freedom, individualism at the expense of the common good, vulgarity, lies and half-truthsâ€.

Other Christian and Catholic organisations contacted by TODAY, including Faith Community Baptist Church’s Pastor Lawrence Khong, also expressed support for the Catholic Church’s stand.

The Rebel Heart Tour concert, which will be held at the National Stadium on Sunday has been rated R18 for its sexual references by the MDA.

The singer, who will be performing in Singapore for the first time, has also been asked not to perform her controversial song Holy Water in her show here.

The tour is produced by Live Nation Global Touring in association with East West Best Inc, and exclusively supported by King Lun and the UMS Group.

Live Nation Lushington managing director Michael Roche said: “We just passed 25 years of bringing in major artistes to Singapore.

“We have always applied for licenses and we have always worked closely with the authorities.â€

Madonna arriving by private jet and staying at luxury hotel Capella on Sentosa: Report

http://www.straitstimes.com/lifestyle/entertainment/madonna-to-stay-at-luxury-hotel-capella-on-sentosa-report

SINGAPORE - Queen of Pop Madonna is expected to arrive by private jet at about 9pm on Friday (Feb 26) and stay at Capella Singapore on Sentosa, according to a report by TODAY, citing unnamed sources.

The report added that the 57-year-old is expected to head to the National Stadium for rehearsals tomorrow, ahead of her first concert in Singapore on Sunday.

Mediacorp is the parent company of both TODAY and Mediacorp Vizpro, which is one of the partners bringing the pop star into Singapore.

Capella was also where Lady Gaga reportedly stayed when she was in Singapore for her Born This Way tour in 2012. The luxury hotel is relatively secluded, tucked away at the end of a quiet lane on Sentosa. It is adjacent to the Sentosa Golf Club and next to One Degree 15 Marina and Sentosa Cove.

Madonna is currently on the Asian leg of her Rebel Heart tour, having already played in cities including Manila, Macau and Hong Kong.

The Straits Times reported that her show in Singapore is costing its Taiwanese investors US$10 million (S$14 million).

The cost of staging her show here includes air freight for the pop star's 27 containers holding the stage, lighting and wardrobe set-ups.

Last month, the show received an R18 rating from the authorities for "sexually suggestive content".

‎Terence Tan

I was around Sports Hub earlier this Thursday evening & saw crane machinery inside National Stadium which is obviously setting up the stage for Madonna's concert! I managed to sneakily take a few pictures of the setting up where you can see the stage roof & numerous lights!

Can't wait for this Sunday! tongue emoticon
