Does anyone remember a dance track that was made using her MTV Artist of the Decade Award speech or something like that. It was called "She's a Freak", I think? She definitely says that phrase over and over. I've never seen it on YouTube.

My only problem with them is that she has one of the most beautiful speaking voices and they obscure it and make her sound drunk. I prefer more natural/subtle looks like this...

There was a very basic bootleg drum & bass remix of The Power of Goodbye back in the day that I used to wear out. Had the same loop throughout but just worked.
I always say Fabian's Good God Mix is underrated. It fits the darker vibes of the album and has an almost dancehall feel.
If Johnny Vicious had mixed it in the same style he did Sade "Pearls" or Dido "Here With Me", it would have been a monster dance track. He knew how to take a slow vocal and make it sound epic and not dragged out.
Dallas' mix is a bit toooo Fanmail for me. There's two mashups of POG, one with Human League "Human" and the other with The Verve "Bittersweet Symphony", that are some of my favorite mashups ever.

All of these mixes for DW/SFH still hold up well today, including the Calderone mixes, imo. Pretty much all of the ROL era mixes do for me.
I really wish Veronica Electronica happened. And that she had worked with Sasha more. Would have loved hearing other non single tracks remixed by the people she was working with and interested in back then.

Why not a top 40 for the anniversary?
The gyms. The skincare. The NFTs. Instagram. The hair hats and caulking. With that said, it was a flawless 30 year run prior so I love you anyway, Louise.

I love half of what they did on Music.
All of American Life.
Madame X and I don't get along.
Impressive Instant would have been another big hit had it been a proper single with a video and I will not debate it with anyone.

I've always wanted to know what this was about/referencing. I love all of the Klein Reinvention images. There is something very similar in the Born This Way video with all the heads.

Dragging kids down to make any point at all is vile and absolutely unnecessary.

This was great. Reminds me of the MTV/VH1 Madonna weekends with all of those amazing specials.

If you really wanna turn them out, make a playlist of all your favorite performances from various tours. Madame X can take the night off unless the friend is Shoful.
If you want them to completely lose it, include Award/TV show moments. Vogue (VMA's), Bedtime Story (Brits) Hung Up (EMA's), The Britney Kiss etc.

am i the only one that wished new remixes had been commissioned for these old songs
it could be fun hearing brandnew remixes for these tracks, of course putting the OG remixes up for streaming as well
This.
Although, I always wish they had done this after American Life. Imagine Peter mixing "Causing A Commotion" or Victor mixing "La Isla Bonita". Scatter my ashes.

Her referencing those clubs is the kind of attention to detail that gets me so excited. The preparation for the biopic was a blessing. She immersed herself in the glory days of NYC nightlife. Where's the Rebel Heart Hacker with the setlist? He deserves some slack after making BTUTTB a hit.

It is my second favorite live performance from her. The Real question is... do you prefer the curls or the ponytail version?
Both gorgeous. The curls are classic. But the ponytail is so special. We never got that or the polka dots again.

Obviously her real hair and one of the first times she followed a current trend and used the ‘Rachel’ hairstyle.
It’s always obvious when she is wearing a wig or extensions.
There will always be something ‘off’ with the look.
And here we go again. I always thought it was her real hair until a few years ago someone told me it was a fall/ half wig in the back/on top worked into her real hair in the front. But there are several other occasions in 1995 where it's basically the same length and style and clearly her real hair. Oh dear....

My two all time faves. There's a couple of glitchy bits but overall I kind of love this a lot.
Mary, hope you're ready for the resident Hall Monitors here to strike up that quote button like Black Box feat. Martha Wash.
Which, speaking of, where is the Martha Wash AI?!

That is something that came to mind when I made my last post. I thought about bringing that up too, but if I recall the video was either premiered during that interview (if not days before) or was teased. I can't recall. I just remember being astonished by the drastic change, and the fact she actually wore a wig in the Frozen video, only to dye her hair months later the same color.
Yeah, I felt Howard would have shredded her big time in the 80's or 90's, but I can't recall was he doing big celebrity interviews back then? I remember it mostly was him talking trash and bringing on these people (some with disabilities), exploiting them and asking them to do weird things especially of the sexual nature.
I like him much better now than back then. While he still asks the tough questions and really gets into people's business, he seems to do it a bit more respectfully. I think he knows that he probably did some pretty unscrupulous things, and while he's not too apologetic about it, he has used it as a learning tool to be a better version of himself.
He started getting big music stars in the 90's. His interviews with Mariah Carey make me think a Madonna interview in the 90's maaaayyy have worked to a certain degree. Because who could imagine Mariah spending more than 30 seconds with 90's Howard? But she did.
In the 80's/ early 90's, he had Billy West before he went on to do the voices for Ren & Stimpy, Futurama etc. That and his interviews with Richard Simmons and Gilbert Gottfried were hysterical.
He and M are very different but there's a few parallels there. And he was very loudly supportive of her when she was getting shit for the adoptions which I thought was nice. He could have easily piled on but didn't.

It would have been really cute for a "Cinnamon"esque guest appearance on The Facts of Life at the time.
