Well it's disappointing but cool at the same time that they even thought of Madonna for these spoken parts.  Funny they think of her as a "great actress", but then again when it comes to her doing something musical it usually works for Madonna.  Her part as the "Big Eye" reminds me of her spoken part in "Dark Ballet".

I think what Chris means is that Madonna was having many eras and personalities, that's why he thinks she's great actress, and as you mention Madonna was great in musical.
