Actually, if I remember correctly, when MDNA was released there was a very good response regarding Gang Bang from the fans. And also Love Spent... These two songs were often mentioned as highlights of not-so-well received album

Everybody hated MDNA (when it lost the #1 spot), but everybody was dying to have a video clip of ‘Gang Bang’ directed by Tarantino. The problem with MDNA always was the singles.

Girl Gone Wild got at least amazing music video, so I don't mind it being a single.

@Confessions Lightside Very different than mine besides just 5 overlaps! I love that we can all have such different tastes and still stan the artist together.

Totally agree!  I'm fascinated by everyone's choices.  It just proves how diverse Madonna's been all these years.  :luv:

I think the problem with MDNA is its final mastering the album sounds like a half baked demo. I love all the songs separately but when I hear the album all together my earphones and ears bleed

Omg I love that avicci demo personally the most emotional version of the song for me it's hard to go through it whole without getting kind of emotional, really explains how iconic it is even though the album dance hard beat is good

You are so right... I think it was a huge mistake that this version wasn't the first single of the album - but was instead punched off as a much weaker produced bonus track. In this aspect, it's a gift that the Rebel Heart leaks exist.

Can you imagine if we actually got the Quentin Tarantino music video Madge wanted for Gang Bang? That would've been Fire.

I quite loved Girl Gone Wild, it was a little too commercial and safe, but I enjoyed it. The choreography was awesome, the video was awesome, the tour performance was great, I just think it was too safe. When we were used to Madonna being ahead of the curve, MDNA was more of a "What the kids are listening to" kind of album. I actually quite like it but will admit there was very little about it that was ahead of the curve. But on the other hand I think Madame X was very experimental and different but I didn't take to really any of it. Sometimes it's better to be safe, sometimes it's better to experiment. The best we can do is just enjoy what we enjoy <3

I think a whole response regarding MDNA would be slightly different if they would have chosen different singles.

Start of a new era with Gang Bang and video directed by Quentin Tarantino? Everyone would lose their mind!

Instead, we got her absolutely worst single GMAYL :Madonna040:

Actually, I enjoyed MDNA when it was released and photoshoots for that album are amazing until this day, she looks stunning. But it is a mixed bag musically .. I am here totally for Gang Bang, I'm Addicted, Love Spent, and few others.. On the other hand, we got B-Day Song (her absolutely worst song for me) , GMAYL (her absolutely worst single for me) and Superstar (this would be fine if Miley Cyrus would have sung it at the age of 12 maybe, but not Madonna in her 50s). So I can understand why some fans really hate that album, but I can understand those who like it as well.

We have to remember the commericial appeal of Nicki and M.I.A on one of your tracks including a Superbowl Performance

Clearly she released it as a single possibly to the leak or the fact that those artists were in the music
