Crowds celebrate Biden win with LIKE A PRAYER!

Recommended Posts

Trump was a necessary evil. A warning shot to western democracy. The Democrats need to listen to the trump base and wonder how this has happened. Trump is just the white head of the spot that’s been growing for a good while before him. It needed to be popped and now it’s time to heal.

This doesn’t mean go back to how things were before. The world is changing and aside from the minority of racists and bigots that get the press, Trumps base largely fear for their jobs,  their freedoms and being left behind while globalisation changes their economics and landscape of thier country. They’re also sick of the establishment and being lied to. The wealth divide is unreal.  Their fears are not ltd to America.
Trump capitalised on the fears of largely good people. It’s abhorrent but like I said. Sometimes things get worse before they get better.

I don’t believe Trump supporters are bad people. Some of the Trump supporters I’ve spoke to or heard interviewed are very reasoned and not crazy gun wielding proud boys. They’re just a bit lost and disillusioned.

Harris / Biden speech last night felt empowering and honest.
I think the world is now breathing a collective sigh of relief. This isn’t just an American issue. Their politics and demeanour effect the world.

Here’s to logic and reason.

I'm sorry but I don't agree with this thread at all. I don't come on here to talk or read about politics, certainly, not from far left, woke, cretins. I also do not support Joe Biden who is an IRA advocate, I've lived through IRA bombings but as long as you far left idiots on here are happy.

This is a Madonna fansite, not a political arena, I'm sick of it. I won't be reading or replying to any comments on this crap thread. If I've offended anyone, I don't care, block me, ban me, I don't give a shit.

Being a Madonna fan is ultimately being in the political arena. She’s been political since day 1 and counting.

Also this debate goes beyond Republicans/Democrats/Far Left.
It’s about the worst nightmare of the free world vs decency and basic human rights.

Madonna will always stand up for a better world and Biden winning is a step in that direction, no matter your partisan affiliation.

PERIOD

It's not Obama or the Democrats who created space for a Trump. It's the generation-spanning inherent racism that has kept that space wide open for anyone to cater to folks who are afraid to lose their privilege that is based on colonialism. And at that, with the lies that they want to hear.

The Democrats and Obama and still complicit.

As are all white progressive regardless of gender.

Do you think it is good to talk about politics here? I have seen irreconcilable fights between good people on other websites (comics, music, films, tv series) because they started talking about politics.

I only wanted to say this...

@Fighterthank you for acknowledging America’s overdue victory against fascism on the front page

Unfortunately as you can see there's no victory against fascism, it is alive and well and thriving in this fandom, but it's nice to expose the truth once and for all as painful and cutting as it might be.

People say this is politics. But this is a world impacting event. And tangential to Madonna. So yes it should be discussed and debated in a civilized manner.

It’s mind boggling to read some of these comments on a Madonna forum. But I guess nothing is surprising anymore. Human decency is pretty much dead unfortunately

Human decency is listening to each other with an open ear not demonising everyone that doesn’t share the same opinion as you. There are ways to challenge opinions that don’t involve vitriol and fighting. Isn’t this the entire lesson here?

Trump is a social phenomenon that needed to stop before fully eroding this country and the world in general. And the crowning achievement of conservative policies.
I don’t fully support Bernie and don’t even get me started on the current Democratic Party.
But extreme capitalism has failed 90% of the people in this country. So it’s time for a new “American Experiment”. Hopefully one where everyone’s voice is heard and represented.

The worst one I think was the bunch of armed Trump supporters in trucks swarming Biden's campaign bus in Texas forcing them to cancel a rally, that was caught on a video that Trump retweeted with "I LOVE TEXAS!". I've definitely seen worse from that side... no doubt because we are in different circles. Like for instance the people Trump told on the debate to go "observe" the voting who showed up with guns at several polling stations to tell voters to "do the right thing". Very scary stuff.

Please don't spread lies. It is your right to support anyone and everyone have to respect you. But you or anyone have right to spread miss information base on the main media.

What's concerning me is the comments like 'If you voted for Trump, you're no ally of LGBTI people, POC or women - there's no debate'.

It's this shutting down of views from mainly white progressives and their white saviourism which is the biggest problem.

Malcolm X called it out years ago and it's something we all need to listen to in times of BLM.

People like simple truths, especially when the truth is obfuscated. That's not to say Trumpisn isn't reactionary.

hey

But Trump’s rhetoric is directly hindering equality and the progress of these groups. And he committed mass murder and economic disaster by managing this pandemic like one of his casinos.

How can anyone ignore that and cast a ballot for him?

Your avatar is a photo from the political segment of the Girlie Show. That segment promotes love, equality, science, kindness to one another. That’s the complete opposite of Trump politics.

I’m sorry, but supporting Trump is just too problematic and people who do need to recalibrate before it’s too late.

We do have to remember that millions of POC, LGBT and women voted for Trump, so it doesn't help our case when we call people on that side simply problematic bigots. A lot of cubans voted for Trump in Florida due to the right fearmongering Biden as a dangerous socialist, they also tend to lean more conservative as a demographic. You cannot underestimate the power of rhetoric and the diversity in ideology in different demographics, so leftists have to be cautious in how they handle it. Otherwise the right's propaganda of hysterical far-left woke cretins starts to ring true for the other side. We can't be so puritanical as frustrating as it is. We would be yelling in our own bubble and reinforcing the other side's bubble. :dead:

From a European perspective, it is absolutely incomprehensible how one can come up with the socialist argument.
It seems like they don’t even know what socialism is.

Anything that doesn’t fit into the right-wing spectrum is immediately labeled as “socialist“. People should look up what socialism really means.

You don't persuade and influence by ostracising, that's how you start a civil war.

Biden is actually right-wing in his politics. He's just more to the left of right-wing. He's still very conservative.

Hey I’ve had this debate with some progressives.
Most liberals (even far left) don’t do that. Just like most Trump supporters are not uneducated rednecks waving their guns.

But when people are blatantly left to die and go into bankruptcy while the top 1% makes billions there’s going be resistance.

It’s the boomer generation. They have PTSD from the Cold War and they’d rather embrace radical capitalism than conservative socialism.

They benefited from the privileges of capitalism that are not available to millennials and gen z. They bought their houses, had their reasonable private healthcare and fattened their 401k. Also, generationally, current social issues are not even in their radar.
