It is unusual in the US. The Love Ball was one of the very few exceptions, not the rule. Anyone claiming you are narrow minded for even asking this is a lot....

In Ballroom, celebrity judges are iffy. Rihanna's appearance on the panel is legendary. Mary J. Blige was a scandal. 

The first major celebrity judges were in the late 80's. House of Field had Debbie Harry and Malcolm McClaren for example. At that ball, Mother Angie Xtravaganza was chopped. The scores were crazy. Celebrity meeting Ballroom always has the potential to go one way or the other. 

However, as long as she doesn't chop anyone, she should be fine lol
