Art is supposed to be enjoyed, and being a fan of an artist's work is supposed to be enjoyable. If I'm not happy with an artist I'll take a break, and I actually do that all the time.. but also don't forget her Art is still there, her past albums, tours, videos... they're still there to be enjoyed and explored...  a "Van Gogh" type of artist will do things when they're inspired and ready, not when people want it or rushing to cash in on a situation like a pandemic and their work can still be enjoyed after a long time and not thrown away like McDonalds leftovers. I feel like her past work is always amazing, but I also loved Madame X and can still enjoy it like it's brand new (which it still is tbh):luv:

I agree with everything of what you said! But I'm talking more about her ego / social media, and how she believes that everything that she post there is art or revolutionary. And nobody cares anymore.

She can be unispired for 4 years, but at least talk about her past achievements, tours, what happened during the recording of a song, quotes, photoshoots... she has a lot of material to have a really interesting social media exposure tbh. That's what I meant.

Also her exposure / aproachment during the pandemic times was a little out of place. Nothing that a professional entertainer would do. It was almost insulting tbh.

  2. I would prefer if she stops now, than another year of #soons for the Madame X broadcast, plus 3 years more of toilets, Kid Cudis, Kanyes, Kardashians and 0 interest on experimenting with music. She believes that she thinks outside of the box, but she's really inside of it, surrounded by really superficial people, and yes, her behaviour is childish and 0 artistic.

She likes to call herself 'art' and pretend that what she's doing is 'art' but being in a toilet all day seems more that she prefers 'fart' than anything outside of it. And it's ok if she likes farts and twerking, but hey, don't call it art.

All of us here thought amazing things that could happen with the Madame X Tour when it was announced... and what she did was a predictable Kevin Antunes mess, with 100 dancers as always, and making the people wait for hours, or not knowing if they will have the concert that they paid, or even the money back. That's not ART.

300 filters, cheap artwork done with selfies and using Aldo Diaz are not ART.

She has the money to do art if she wants. I know a lot of people that do amazing things with a budget of 20 € and a phone camera. Kitchens, twins screaming, nails, butts, gardens, toilets etc etc are not ART.

Also: an entertainer knows how to deliver during the bad times. Because is their job, and they should feel inspired to make people going on, enjoy life and have hope. Twins, bf, Instagram, marihuana, and Lola's armits are not ART. And as I said, good if she doesn't want to continue, but don't call yourself revolutionary, artist, and visionary if u have 0 interest on those things and u are more a Mc Donald's menu than a Van Gogh type of artist.

She barely promoted it, though. We had one performance of Medellin and one of Future. That was it.
And while many artists played little gigs at home during the pandemic, she couldn’t be bothered to have David and Mercy accompany her on guitar and piano for a performance of Killers or Extreme Occident or any other of the more mellow songs from Madame X.

Don't forget that she performed for the important 50 years of Stonewall Pride at NY, but her and her team didn't bother to upload it on Youtube or somewhere, so it's like it never happened.

  4. After all what remains when an artist is gone, is the legacy on DVD / streaming whatever. I can't understand artists like Lady Gaga that have only 1 or 2 tours officially released. The Spice Girls did their most huge stage show on 2019 and it's not well documented. Having platforms like Netflix, Youtube, that will be perfect for the releases and legacy of the artist, for me it seems lazy and not smart, not releasing that material.

We can't complain about Madonna... every show is documented, even Blond and Re-Invention as a documentary. I just think that the timming with her is boring, with really long gaps between every little project, that make us waiting forever and when the product is released, we lost the interest or we are tired and we moved on.

Love this. I was in Tokyo when they filmed this at the end of the Confessions Tour, she had this hairstyle for my concert. Agree the videos (this one and Hung Up) were pretty average, I mean this and Hung Up and basically the same, Madonna dancing by herself inside, plus footage of random people in various cities around the world, but I do love Tokyo so that is maybe why I love this video?

On Hung Up, Madonna is interecating with the dancers, she's at the street too, at the disco, at the video-game place...

I think Danton raised the real issue.

Sadly she became the caricature that people thought she would become with age
her mainstream image is now an old artist who has abused cosmetic surgery. A woman disconected, who no longer looks like herself, fucking a guy of her daughter's age.

During the Confessions era, everyone admired her. For the music but also for her hard-maintained appearance. She forced respect and yes, she was super sexy. She managed to be sexy without being vulgar

I can't imagining her on promotion with the grillz, pink hair, donald's ass without being ridiculed, no matter what how good the music will be

Pink hair is amazing. A real reinvention that suits her. I agree with the rest though!

It really is unbelievable how bad her vocals were on that tour. She must’ve just finished the Confessions Tour and fired the vocal coach

Not unbelievable at all... that energy was 10 times more the Confessions Tour one... I'm still amazed that she did THAT on her 50's.

The enigma and personality has evaporated with Madonna.

Not only that... let's face that she's more inmature now at 62 than when she was 40 and released Ray of light... Just watch the interviews.
I can imagine an interesting Instagram from 1992 till 2012 in case it existed and managed by Warner. She was focusing on art, nice ideas, speeches, points of view... now everything is about bitches, gangs, grillz, toilets bathrooms, Aldo Diaz and really devaluated. It doesn't help neither that her f*cking Spotify is a mess, with wrong edits of CLASSIC AND MASTERPIECE ALBUMS like True blue, or Like a virgin. Seriously, I reached a point that I'm sick of her. If she doesn't care, I'm not going to care anymore and I can revisit the golden days on my collection when I want, and share experiences and opinions here with the fans, till the day that we will don't have anything more to comment...
