so what does that have to do with Andy and M telling him to stop people from trashing her on his shows? you can check on youtube, most stories about Madonna on Andy's show are entirely positive.

I misunderstood that you were talking about being trashed on his show.

This whole thread is the pot that called the kettle black.

Andy Cohen is just like everyone else on this forum. A huge Madonna fan first and foremost. His fandom is well documented in all of his books.

But he also wants his guests to spill the tea and give insider info on her. Just like the rabid fans on this forum want.

Get off your high horses. You enjoy the behind-the-scenes tea - good or bad - just as much as the rest of us. He often delivers that with his interviews.

And in his defense - I've watched every episode of WWHL and have never seen HIM shade her. In fact, he is always effusive in his love and respect for her. He has an original, beautifully framed photo of her in the bathroom of his own apartment for god's sake!

He asks his guest questions about their personal experiences with Madonna and his guests give their opinion about it. Good but sometimes bad. That's his job. Sometimes his guest don't' have nice things to say about her. That's not his fault.

Quit being so sanctimonious.

We would all love to sit down and get the inside scoop on her with someone who knows her intimately.

Also: Everyone in this thread has a gossip-y, Andy Cohen-esque post history that is available for us all to view.....

I don’t think a fan forum is the same as being on a gossip show on tv. Most of us have respectable jobs/lives outside of the Internet.

Sorry, but his show is about dishing people.  While it may be silly Junior high gossip, he still encourages it.  He's tapped in to people normalizing chaos and drama that has become "Reality TV".  People are entertained with those who call other people out and humiliate others.  He's part of a culture that looks to cancel those who don't fit his narrative.

Yes, this is true.  But there was nothing on his comment to suggest homophobia.  It's not homophobia to criticize or dislike a gay person (unless the reason for the criticism or dislike is based on the fact that they're gay).  Same thing with women or POC.  Just because someone is gay, or black, or a woman, or whatever, it doesn't mean that they're infallible or untouchable.  That's almost as bad as homophobia is.  IMO, true equality is just that:  treating everyone equally.  Which means calling people out on BS or sometimes even disliking a person.  There's a saying that originated in the gay community: Just because you're gay doesn't mean you're ok.  Meaning that some gay people are just assholes, in the same way that some women are, or some trans people are, or some black people are, etc.  And the reason for that is we are all PEOPLE.  Wonderful, unique, and sometimes difficult or shitty PEOPLE.  And the sooner we stop trying to divide ourselves and realize that, the better, because once we can get past the labels or the differences in skin color is when we can recognize each other as one human family.

I think the biggest difference is we haven't met Madonna and we don't attend events with her :eyes:

She doesn’t attend events with him, she avoids him and he’s bitter about it.

And the main difference between us and Andy is we are not snorting cocaine before we go to air .

Exactly. What he fronts and co-produces is toxic. And gay men rush to shows like Real Housewives like flies to shit. There is nothing good about any of it. I hope Madonna never goes on his show.

He capitalizes on the lowest common denominator so we celebrate him for that. I'll stay mad via/for my goddess Kathy Griffin.

Actual question - not trying to be shady: Andy Cohen is "the lowest common denominator" but Kathy Griffin isn't?

She got famous as a self proclaimed D-Lister who gossiped about her personal celebrity interactions.

What is the difference?

Not to mention the fact that Andy produced her reality show that made her famous for gossiping about celebrities.

Kathy is a stand up comedian.  She came up during a time, when comedians weren't taken so literally.  She came up during a time before people started canceling everyone based on their jokes (whether in poor taste or not).

Andy is part of the problem where he's normalizing what some would consider D-Listers (only famous due to their parents or relatives being actual celebrities).  He's part of the culture where he encourages people to air out people's dirty laundry and have screaming matches over it.

Let's just all be as homophobic as possible towards the most rich and famous LGBT people we know. That certainly helps in the current climate.

Or let's focus on the fact that Andy Cohen caters to housewives, and has stunningly shallow ideals of the LGBTQ community. He is Perez Hilton with lotsa de casha. I know it's entertainment TV, but I won't be giving any credit on being an LGBTQ icon just because he's rich and famous.

edit:

And there was not an ounce of homophobia in the comment by @ScottyJ you quoted.
