  1. I hope she has a relationship with a woman next. That would really piss people off. Bring back LesbiDonna!

  3. I can't believe it. It's from a lossy source (mp3 or similar). I also did a sample rate conversion from 88200 Hz to 44100 Hz in Audition and it's clear: Living For Love is from a lossy source This is incredible. Hi-Res audio... HA!

  5. So then we can just expect them to release the leaked mp3s on the expanded editions? 😂

  6. No that's the problem i have with it, it may not be possible to give us a HiRes format of these mixes for whatever reason (probably they just doesn't exist). But to sell a package on Qobuz saying it's HiRes when it clearly isn't is a con. It's not just one or two tracks either, some of them may appear HiRes but they are only just pushing over the original CD quality for them to register as so.

    Madonna in Sardinia 1983

https://ricerca.gelocal.it/lanuovasardegna/archivio/lanuovasardegna/2001/10/03/ST403.html That time in Samassi: "Madonna, who is she?" In 1983 she sang at the Biggest nightclub, but no one knew her yet CAGLIARI. Veronica Ciccone? A shy girl, anything but aggressive, without pretensions or vamp attitudes. She appeared dressed in black pants and a miniskirt over it, a lot of chains around her neck and a tight T-shirt. The portrait of Madonna dates back to 18 years ago. It was a rainy Thursday, that 20 October 1983. Discoring was one of the cult programs of Rai. Emanuela Falcetti, Isabella Russinova and Anna Pettinelli led the lounge of dance music, but not only, wandering around Italian discos. It was the turn of Samassi's "Biggest". «The Rai people called me. I knew the other guests but this Madonna did not convince me. They said - Francesco Fois, owner of the Biggest, remembers with a half smile - that the disco would make history because the girl was doing great in America and would soon make it big in Europe too. They were right: since then Madonna has never sung in a nightclub again». Samassi's look was later used by the star in the film Desperately Seeking Susan. The beginning of an amazing career or almost. “That day she stood aside, locked himself in the dressing room and came out just to rehearse her piece. She made "Holiday", a piece that had not yet arrived in Italy» says Gianfranco Pisano who has been working on scripts and lighting at the Biggest ever since. It turns out that on that evening Madonna was a supporting act. «The big names were Immagination, in the charts all over the world with" Illusion ". And there were also Brian Adams and Eugenio Finardi, who was annoyed because they asked him to give way to Madonna, someone who no one knew, because otherwise she would have missed the plane». So: a scheduled flight, no private plane, no bodyguards. Veronica Ciccone arrived in Samassi with a hired Mercedes. “The personal producer also told her how to say hello. She ate a ham sandwich and asked for an orange soda: and even these choices were made by the manager». In short, a semi-unknown debut. At the Biggest they have kept no autographs, no photos, or any other kind of memorabilia. Of the evening, which opened at two in the afternoon and ended in the middle of the night, there is a vhs cassette jealously guarded by the owner. «She didn't arouse particular attention, a feisty blonde like so many others. She lip-synched and had to repeat the recording as well» adds Francesco Fois. That episode of Discoring aired the following Sunday. Madonna certainly did not hint at her golden destiny. From Cagliari, Miss Ciccone flew to Milan. And towards success. Quella volta a Samassi: «Madonna, e chi è?»

    Madonna in Sardinia 1983

I didn't know Martin Burgoyne was with her in Sardinia!

  9. Also this was a very exclusive event to promote anything. The remix could have been included as a streaming exclusive bonus track at midnight. And drive a bunch of streams and attention to the album. This way the only thing that trended was Madonna making out with Tokischa and most people that saw that are not even aware this compilation exists

  11. I think her vocals were at its worst during Sticky and MDNA. There was a clear difference during Rebel Heart. For the best. Honestly that era is severely underrated. The tour, her looks, vocals, performances, etc. She was in her mid 50s and she was amazing.

  14. I think a bit of both haha. I save HD sources but for me they don’t sound radically better than normal lossless CD quality. Lossy though loses some audible detail depending on how compressed it is. In this case I checked because to my ears it sounded inferior to the other tracks on the album. And it turned out it was. And another issue with lossy masters is that on streaming these get compressed again so they sound even worse

  15. I´m still dancing to that "Hung up" Remix....And I hope she recorded a dress rehearsal from the show (using the black outtfit as seen in her last Instagram video)

  16. My dream: I'd love you guys to interview Mike Dean and discuss/put him in front of all the mistakes, glitches, imperfections, fakes you found in just three days!!

  17. Plus, it's a very catchy remix too and it is very reminiscent of the original song. Probably because of the song key.

  18. Well, HDTRACKS (and other websites) are selling Like A Virgin at 192000 Hz when the original master was recorded in digital at 44100 Hz. Many Madonna's digital masters seems to be recorded only at CD/DVD quality in the 80s and 90s.

  19. Sadly, and we all know that, this is not rare in the music industry. There are tons of examples, Janet and even Prince come to mind right now. They use whatever they have available and if the rest of the collection is HQ, they fake it. Now the Apple Digital Master (previously know as Mastered For iTunes) is quite popular and most of the big label artists usually have that. That version is converted from the original files and they need to be 24 bits so the label has to provide Apple with those HQ masters so they can convert them into Apple Digital Master AAC files... in collections like this one where not every source is HQ they just fake it cause you can't have some songs on an album being Apple Digital Master and not others, you need the whole album or nothing at all. It's sad, I know, but we also know 99,9% of the people listening to it don't care, mind, notice. I usually care and I didn't even notice anything weird with the "Living For Love" remix, to be honest, I wouldn't know if it wasn't for you. But I agree is not the perfect situation.

  21. I get what you mean but if that was really the objective why did she perform 2 remixes that aren't on the album? I think this new remix has more potential for a young audience similar to the Frozen remixes.

  22. Love the remix but the primary objective of this performance was to promote the FEL compilation, and releasing a new remix not on the compilation at the same time would take away from it, I think.

  23. Is it just me or Living For Love is from a lossy source?

  24. We all need that remix!!! I saw that Santana had a good quality video with mic audio on his instagram page, but no news about Hung Up remix

  25. Did anyone see her in 2019 on the Madame X tour? Her vocals were phenomenal. They were a lot better than anything since the Confessions tour. Her performance of Frozen to the shows I went to were amazing

  26. Is that Tokischa remix available yet?!
    2 points
  27. I am not sure if that was mentioned before but on "Hung Up" there is a moment when she says: "Tokischa, ¿qué es lo que es? Yo quiero un culo nuevo" "Tokischa, what is that? I want a new ass". 😂

  28. I hear a huge difference between the Spotify tracks and the HD lossless digital ones. But I’m not sure how much of that is the quality or the mastering.

  29. As one. They're both versions of the same album, just like "Celebration" Standard and Deluxe.

  30. In the end the final say is always Madonna. So the interview would have to be with her and she’d kill us, so no.

  31. In a really good stereo system, of course if you are really pay attention. In my kitchen when I'm cooking, with my cheap stereo system, no. But many people doesn't have Hi-Res stereo players, so for many people it's not a problem. But don't worry. An audio purist want the best audio quality, but if the song is too good, he can play the mp3 version and enjoy it. Again, the problem is: They are selling a lossy track as Hi-Res.

  32. Only "Like A Virgin" because is a digital recording, the rest are true Hi-Res audio tracks. The original "Like A Virgin" CDs are like a copy of the original master.

  33. I personally can't tell the difference if it's mp3 or FLAC or lossy or whatever. It all sounds the same to me. Can you that do really tell the difference or are you just audio purists?

  34. Has anyone done a complete breakdown on the tracklist so we know if they are just remasters of mixes, new re-created edits and completly different versions of previously released and known mixes?
    1 point
  35. Yeah, haha. I was still trying to stay in bounds of those already planned on the deluxe. Ray of Light was released as a sample but it’s on the deluxe… should’ve been on the standard instead of Frozen then.

  36. A megamix would be perfect! Like they did for GHV2 ♥

  37. That would have been a great bonus for the FEL boxset. Including the Rusty Eagan mix of Everybody

  39. I'm reliving the 80s and 90s music in 12" vinyl releases. Literally just banged to Flashdance "What a Feeling" 12 inch version. Highly recommended. But to keep on Madonna...the 12 inch versions would be wild.

  41. In 2005 she had only a slight vocal decline, she continued to sing fairly well, during the Confessions Tour her vocal performances were good. Her worst was in Hung Up, always. The Sticky & Sweet Tour was the real disaster, she was out of tune like crazy. She was trying to make a rock voice, all the mid-high notes were waning and flat. On the MDNA Tour and the Rebel Heart Tour she paid a little more attention to her vocals, cleverly using pre-recorded vocals and preparing herself for the songs a little bit. If she studied singing for a year, going to a lesson once or twice a week, she would have incredible benefits. The mistakes she makes are always the same, established for years. She really needs a vocal coach and to work on her voice. But I doubt she will do that.

  42. No shade, "You'll See" on the DWT Tour is one of the most beautiful vocals I've ever heard in my life, but who on earth is going to a Madonna show for "the vocals" in 2022? Like, Mary please. Work with me here.

  45. I'm sorry to ruin your experience, but only Like A Prayer and Express Yourself are real Hi-Res tracks in this 16 tracks version. The rest are almost CD quality, a little better (this is not bad, but far from "Hi-Res"). Like A Prayer: Secret: Hung Up:

  46. The fact some of you think the fake ass is a “recent” thing when it was already fake back in 2012 (smaller yes, but still not real). Also the breath thing..Madonna always had breathing issues while singing live. Have you forgotten most of the 1998 performances? It’s not a figure or corset thing 😂 Some of you act like she was this powerful incredible vocalist before. Also, Celine Dion, Mariah etc lip sync too. And they don’t put a Madonna show.

  47. @Frank There are some good instagram videos at https://instagram.com/kasiuha?igshid=YmMyMTA2M2Y= who seems to be the one who filmed everything. There's also some good video on Saucy Santanas instagram. Good for instagram at least.

  48. It is not a glitch. I attached a short clip of a vocal isolated version of the remix about 2 seconds before the 2:07 mark. Without the instrumentation you can clearly hear, "LIVING for love..." LFL-VOCAL ISOLATED.mp3

  49. Weird that we all prayed for a nice performance, without braids, without grills, not missing any cues, blah blah blah. She delivered everything we wanted... and the discussion is still about her implants, performance skills, body, age etc. You just want more and more and more.
