Finally! I'm so fucking happy that Popular finally reached the Top 10 in the UK.

Thirty-three weeks after it debuted at No.21, and 28 weeks after it reached its previous peak of No.11, Popular finally enters the Top 10 for The Weeknd, Playboi Carti & Madonna, bringing the UK in line with territories like The Netherlands, New Zealand, Australia and Canada, while far exceeding its US peak of No.43.

It is being helped by its current popularity on TikTok which is, in part, due to an upsurge in streaming of The Weeknd’s cancelled HBO drama series The Idol, in which it features. Either way, it lives again, advancing 14-10 (23,077 sales), while raising its cumulative consumption to 490,192 units. Madonna’s 61st Top 10 hit in total (64th, if re-issues are counted), and first since Celebration in 2009, it is The Weeknd’s 15th and Playboi Carti’s first. Only Elvis Presley and Cliff Richard have had more Top 10 hits than Madonna, whose nearest female rival, Kylie Minogue, has had only 35.

Interesting. I thought that rule started at 25 weeks. So it’ll have to do big numbers.

Still kind of surprising to me. I really feel like the #s it’s doing should be pushing it over. Especially considering some of the fuckass songs that are somehow still able to chart.

Bet that wouldn’t be the case if Taylor swift had a hit out - she can do no wrong 🙄 congrats to M though - even though this song is very mediocre imo and she has released much better songs that deserved top 10 😘🥰

Really?  I constantly hear people bashing Taylor especially over stupid things.  Anyway, let's continue to be a Debbie Downer with a project involving Madonna when in reality it's doing extremely well.  No one expected this and at her age, it's nearly impossible to hit the top 40 let alone the top ten in any market.  Take the win, and stop looking for the negative.
