I was so fucking wrong to doubt Madonna when it came to pulling off this tour. She looks amazing, the setlist was nearly perfect, the outfits and stage setup were top notch, she seemed to be really enjoying herself and the show was critically acclaimed by the general public. Things are only going to get more polished from this point on, I can't wait to see her when she hits the US.

Question: The guy portrayed in the photo right behind M, is this american actor Brad Davis who starred in the amazing Alan Parker movie Mindnight Express (1978)?

I might be mistaken, but it really looks like him.

I believe it's the first night.  The guy who uploaded it, hasn't said either way, but just recently uploaded this evening.  But he has a couple other videos from yesterday's show. So this is probably part of that too.

And singing live to a backing track is still singing live. But on some video's from the same song you can hear big difference, it depends on the sound quality of that video. Example is live to tell,  on some video's her live vocals are more in the back, while on others you can hear them more up front. 

 

A little “essay”

This been a hypocritical problem for very long time. If Madonna sounds good, like GOOD, real good singing live, some people (fans included) will automatically assume she’s lip-syncing.

Take “Sooner or Later” at the Blond Ambition Tour, for instance. She fully performed it live with no backing track at all during this performance below and the rest of the tour.
 

But someone commented it must have been mimed, even though some listeners spotted musical imperfections…

Later during the tour:
 

Clearly, it was never mimed at all!
 

This is psychological conditioning. People, fans included, have been conditioned to think of Madonna as a non-singer and not a vocalist or truly professional singer, so if she sounds truly good, people will think it must be lipped.

We have to make a conscious psychological effort to refute that theory and see Madonna as a talented vocalist, taking into consideration her splendid studio work, how good she sounds on record, including all the pre-Auto-Tune records, and how heartfelt and passionate she sounds live, even if there may be some flaws or imperfections.
 

Taylor Swift is not considered one of the top vocalists of the music world, but see how astronomically famous she is. Obviously, there is something about her voice that works—can’t just be the songwriting. J.Lo, Britney Spears, Janet Jackson, Paula Abdul and Selena Gomez have also had much success and big hits. 

Constantly hearing that a recording artist is a non-singer ends up having a psychological effect. We need to refute that in order to fully enjoy them. They may not be the most skilled vocalists, but they are certainly not non-singers.

In the spirit of injecting some good energy into this thread… here are the ten songs I am most excited about being on the setlist… with #1 being the highest ranked.

1) Bad Girl

3) Nothing Really Matters.

4) Don’t Cry For Me Argentina

5) Rain

6) Erotica

7) Ray of Light

8) Fever (would be #4 or so if it was more than the fun snippet)

9) Hung Up

10) Open Your Heart.

Of these songs, I have NOT ever personal seen 1 - 5 performed LIVE along with Fever.  These 6 songs are REALLY a deep cut to fans who have been around for the long haul and appreciate a good “deep” cut.

I remember sitting in the “Madonna” train going back from BA, there were extra trains with posters inside going out to all directions just for one concert.it’s been a while though ;-)

This happened only once in 1990-91 when she was totally ruling the whole world. And Alek Keshishian was here...

Please remember that she was not able to release I'm going to tell you a secret in theatre. Nor even on tv. It was just a dvd. So in 2023, Cannes festival will never consider one second any documentary related to this tour.
