I totally get why Madonna's not thanking the visited cities anymore on her Instagram. She most have thanked the opportunity to kick off North American leg in the Northeast Coast esp in Brooklyn. And also to set to end it in Texas.

She thanked Cleveland though? Am I missing something? It was her Facebook story yesterday :)

Ah, my bad so. I only checked her Insta.

P.S.: Ah you meant "stories." Stories are temporary. I mean her Insta POSTS.

AND EDIT: well nevermind. I shouldn't be here anyways...

Yes, she thanked Cleveland on her instagram stories yesterday as well.  Those same posts are also happening on her other social platforms.  She's done that with most the venues she's performed at so far. :)

Regarding the hateful comments, I think some are Gaga fans too. Even though there may or may not be beef between the two, the Gaga fanbase do not like her. I remember prior the Superbowl the Gaga fans were hoping she would fall and get hurt.

Fanbases collide to each other everytime. Even fanbases from artists who have loved each other most of the time like M and Britney. We're witnesses to it here on forum.

Another clip of NRM from Cleveland

Beautiful video that of course is already downloaded and saved on my hard drive, which by the way is already filling up with so much downloaded material from Madonna that I think I'm going to have to buy a new PC to be able to store more and more videos since this tour still has for many more months even though some pessimists say it will end in April. I do not believe it. We'll see who is ultimately right.

By the way, something I like about this video is that it limits itself to presenting Madonna singing Nothing Really Matters from the beginning and not like many other videos on YouTube that despite being titled "Madonna Nothing Really Matters Celebration Tour" also end up including Bob's participation. I have nothing against Bob, I respect him as an artist, but it bothers me to have to wait around 5 minutes, which is how long his participation lasts, to finally be able to see Madonna's participation. Separating the videos for each one would be the best solution and those who only want to see Bob's intro (a few) and those who only want to see Madonna singing Nothing Really Matters (the vast majority) would be equally happy.

Since 90% of the reviews are good to great, can we say that the Celebration Tour got critical acclaim?...

I consider it so.  Besides, you can't have a Madonna tour without someone trying to find something negative from it.  Some of these critics live to tear her apart. Some don't even actually go to the show and write crap based on what they hear.  Then there are some who genuinely go and find good reasons to share some negative aspects of the show.  There's always going to people who will love her shows and always those who simply hate on her.  I always look for those who are in between. Someone who will be objective without the intent to slant or shade her.  :)

I definitively SHOULDN'T!

Better go to sleep honey. You are already starting to talk to yourself and that is not good at all. Maybe later your usual minions will be online and will be able to flood the forum with their interactions so brilliant and interesting that  usually leave everyone else stunned.

Honestly, I just love Madonna.

Last night I was watching some videos of the tour on YouTube of the initial London dates and I can see that more recently thousands of haters have come in trashing her. They are saying the Justify my Love section looks like grandma porn. And that she’s old and lethargic and can’t dance or sing anymore. That she moves more like an 80 year than a 65 year old. And they talk about how she looks like SAW or a corpse and that she must be on drugs. When I first saw the show to me she looked amazing and I was blown away by how incredible the show was. They always compare her to Cher or Tina saying they prove it has “nothing to do with age.” But then you look at videos of those women at that age and they do not dance the way Madonna is in this show, or even close to it. Tina just rocked about and Cher has been just flapping her arms about since the late 90’s.

I just don’t understand where all this hate and negativity comes from, it’s like the Sex backlash all over again. I get so upset reading this stuff!!!

To be totally honest Tina was still amazing on stage even at 69 yo, full of energy and really dancing, not just "Rocking around". Watch her perform "Proud Mary" at 69 on Youtube and she's fire, voice and choreo.

Totally agree!  Tina was on top of her game until she retried from stage. If anything, I think Madonna will be the one artist that will remain as active on stage as Tina has till she retires as well. :luv:

Watch Madonna perform the Celebration tour at 65, she’s even better. Oops, too late, you didn’t attend

I see this kind of crap too. More on insta & tiktok comments or twitter. Sometimes if you look at enough you start to recognize the usernames, either from commenting on several videos or spamming a video w/multiple comments. Often these users don’t even follow the account that posted the videos they’re commenting on. So it’s like do these people seek out videos of her to shit on? How sad and pathetic is that?

Anyway, haters gonna hate as they say, and she does seem to be a target of a disproportionate amount. A lot of it is just hive mind nonsense. She’s seen as an easy target.

The Cher comparisons these days admittedly make my blood boil. First of all, her music’s crap. And she sounds like an Elvis impersonating goat. And ffs she’s been standing around on stage like a corpse on a stick for like 30 something years now.

Tina was amazingly vibrant and she gave it her all. That said, her agility was somewhat diminished by the time of her final tour, and, as with Madonna, the choreography was adapted to suit her while her younger backup dancers were clearly more active. It didn’t matter because her heart was in it, and Tina remains one of the greatest icons of the 20th century and an absolute powerhouse of a performer. Where I would say there is a significant difference between Tina and Madonna as performers - and I’m not talking style, obviously - is that Tina went on record saying she didn’t want to continue touring as she no longer enjoyed performing. We know with hindsight that she had health issues, which may have contributed to that desire to retire. Perhaps Madonna will come to the same conclusion between now and her 70th birthday, but for now she seems to thrive when on stage. I really don’t want to think about a time when Madonna might retire from performing. 🙈

Love Cher, she’s a legend but I have no idea why people mock Madonna but not Cher?

Oh no! I’m gonna have to spew another Cher rant! 😂 Preface: I love Cher too, but…cough, cough:

Cher is the Queen of Revisionism. Unfortunately with the current regime of music journalists there isn’t much basis in fact or critical thinking, and so she has been elevated to this fantasy reality that she was the original Madonna over whom she has cultural dominance for sheer longevity. Nobody seems to remember the following:

-Cher never had a solo top ten album in the US until Heart of Stone in 1989. She didn’t have another until Believe a decade later.

-From 1973 until 1987, aside from Take Me Home, she didn’t have a single song that made the top 20. Also, aside from Believe, she has not had another since Just Like Jesse James in 1989.

-Cher was hawking Bally’s Total Fitness and playing the Mirage in Vegas dressed by Frederick’s of Hollywood in the 1980s even when her film career was at its peak, and by 1993 she was pedaling Lori Davis hair products in informercials. Everyone saw her as a joke.

-Let’s also be honest. With the minor exception of Tea With Mussolini in 1999, even her film career was over after Mermaids in 1990. And before anyone leaps to contradict this, Burlesque and Mamma Mia 2 are complete jokes and will be seen as such with time, if not already!

-Cher’s touring legacy began with her Farewell Tour, which was essentially a continuation of her Believe Tour in 1999 and has essentially evolved into her subsequent tours ever since. Nobody thought of Cher as a master of the arena tour ever until she was posited as such by Liz Rosenberg. While I admire her tenacity as a performer, I have seen her twice in concert and it’s schmaltzy, camp and tacky. These are all adjectives that lend themselves well to Cher as a public figure. She used to own it, and was renowned for her “I don’t give a shit” attitude, but eventually it all just became a charade. It’s clear she takes herself far more seriously than she pretends, and the result is releasing diabolical albums of ABBA covers and Christmas unclassics for a lark that no one cares about aside from a tiny gay minority.

I used to love Cher and her faux hair metal rock albums from 1986-1991, but there’s no creativity there. That’s why it’s so cruel that she gets elevated while Madonna gets dragged over the coals. They are absolutely entirely different species as entertainers and artists, and the (living) proof is in the pudding! You’d have to be blind to see anything Madonna has done and not find it vastly superior to Cher’s work.

I just had a wine and some thoughts, I'm sad that the tour will come to a close in a few months. But I'm so excited for the aftermath. The speculation and longing for soundboards, backdrops, rehearsals and studio versions.

In the end, remember kids, sharing is caring.

It'll be fun hearing studio demos of tracks that didn't make the cut. I'm sure there's versions of Music, Candy Shop, Hold Tight, Ghosttown, Oh Father, Sorry, Back That Up to the Beat, The Power of Good Bye, and others we will hear.

Oh no. The Celebration Tour was probably my favourite concert I've ever been to (well, except Springsteen) but I'm not going to deny that Tina Turner was the best thing ever to hit a stage. Literally that woman had everything in bucket loads. While Madonna is amazing in concert, Tina was in a league of her own... Somebody completely unmatched.

That's my opinion of course :)

(And before anyone jumps on me, just no, I've literally said nothing negative about M)...
