There are no official lyrics to Funana, so any website's guess is as good as mine. Funana is not Portuguese, it's Creole, like Batuka. I just think "now" makes a lot more sense than "no Funana"

When was a Madonna Tour ever broadcasted simultaneously in every country around the world? Also it’s a big deal that in this day and age it’s being broadcasted in multiple countries at all.

I think this release is going great at least in the US. And honestly…. EPIX and SHOWTIME were not bigger…. She’s getting a lot of promotion this time worldwide even though it seems a little bit difficult to find a way to watch the show. But to be honest, at least paramount have some focus on her, Netflix has so many things that I wouldn’t expect much promo for Madonna.

This release is already bad.... In US and few countries, it's ok. Paramount release streaming everybody knows. But the MTV thing for other part of the world is just a big mess. One week before the event, I absolutely don't know about how to watch it. MTV France plans to air 25 minutes at midnight and nothing else. One week before the event, nothing is communicated at all... Netflix would have been such a bigger release. It's broadcasting worldwide and the audience would have been huge... What a fail to have choosen the so limitate Paramount app. I just think I will download illegaly a torrent of the film (can we stop calling that a documentary... it's a film of the concert, not a documentary). I just hope links of the file of the film in HD will be very fast available on this perfect forum. Sorry M but your team limits communication to US. There are few other countries to feed...

It's sad but as soon as it was made official the digital releases stopped. I guess the main focus is now the "Madame X Tour" release but a little old remixes EP or another remastered HD video wouldn't hurt.

I think it's pretty obvious that's she's saying "Now, Funana". It's like "Come on, Vogue". She's inviting people to dance that particular dance style. The whole song is about dancing. Why would she be saying "nao"? It doesn't make sense and there's no Portuguese in the whole song.

What surprises me in this discussion is that you guys think she sings "nao funana" (which translates to no funana, and to me makes no sense at all) and all this time I thought it was "now funana"

Absolutely the fuck yes, how could the new Vogue not be included in the standard edition? Fun Fact: she didn't include it in the album because of how powerful it was, or it would have totally overshadowed her hits and would have sent songs such as Like a Snoozer, Vague and Communist Girl straight into oblivion. The interview could have been lost in transcription. They talked about so many parts of the album, record it and then they need to put the interview together from these recordings. Elements can be mixed up

Sorry but I don’t agree with your opinion. I understand what you’re saying, and of course Madonna wanted those songs to be controversial like her old stuff, but I don’t think she’s obsessed by her past. Who is actually obsessed are her fans, and maybe if she now decide to take a look into her past is mainly because her fans keep demanding that. Do you really think she don’t know what we all say about her new stuff? She knows everything. if she now gave us more references about her past it’s for remembering people who she is (especially in this historical period where music is not a thing anymore, not like before at least) and for pleasing her fans. if she was really obsessed, she gave us a greatest hits tour a vegas residency and bla bla bla. I think she simply decide to use the BAT speech in that section for let people reflect about the present and the future. She want us to ask “if Madonna was saying those things 31 years ago, why we are still stuck with the same subjects today?”. The message is really far beyond her career and artist ego.
