  1. The beat is alright. It’s just a horrible concept to insert Sweet Home Alabama in the middle of a Madonna song. This guy must be straight.

  2. Exactly my thoughts. And the way he dances around all excited to Sweet Home Alabama. Ugh. You can’t get straighter. The gays will definitely go get hotdogs if she plays this.

  5. I don't know how people can have unrealistic expectations that we are getting unannounced album this week specially with no database leaks

  6. It's not like if she's rehearsing 24 h / 7 days per week. At some point all of them need to rest. She always likes to visit Israel around touring times, maybe she's doing it before the final rehearsals.

  7. They played Like A Prayer indeed

  8. Leaving the rehearsals for her biggest tour in nearly a decade for a weekend trip to Israel? I very much doubt it. But we'll see.

  9. I sorta don't think that's possible though. Kate Bush is pretty much a recluse. Madonna uses every opportunity she can to keep her profile visible. One of things about the Kate Bush song is that, apart from being an amazing emotive song about dealing with pain, is that young folk assumed it was a new artist or that they'd unearthed some gold of yesteryear. Like A Prayer has always been a bit omni present really and all the modern pop girls refer to Madonna or drag her out. Beyonce, Katy, Gaga, Britney, Ari, Miley, Taylor, Nicki have all been seen on stage, screen or in pics together. I take all this back if a song like Live To Tell is used and becomes a streaming smash. In the last decade or so I really feel like Live To Tell has sunk further and further away from public consciousness and has been sleeping off radar for a very long time. It wouldn't surprise me if it wasn't on a greatest hits collection tbh. I gasped when it wasn't on the one disc version of Celebration. While not indicative of her wider brand, (Groove, Vogue, Material, Virgin, Prayer), It's Madonnas greatest song. Like A Prayer while amazing has had it flowers time and again. Live To Tell is shrouded in secrecy thematically but it is an incredible song about the power and burden of survival. That silence in the middle. Haunting and expectant. Almost an awkward unsaid silence or a taunt to the person who wronged her that something is coming. Will she break her silence? Maybe it represents a spiritual pause and reset for Madonna herself. Maybe its a musical representation of those quiet few moments in the eye of the storm after something horrific has happened to you where you're in this trance like state working out if you're still alive or what's just happened. Maybe it represents the point in her childhood when her mother died and there was just this void. Those two swoosh sounds like Angels coming to take her mothers soul away. It's the most effective use of a pause in a song ever. (Sorry Whitney IWALY). Madonna breaks the silence with the words "if I ran away I'd never have the strength to go very far" I'd always found a connection to the song Mer Girl a song also about her mothers death where she almost harks back to these lyrics like a part two. "I ran and I ran..I'm still running away". Papa Don't Preach being the single afterwards always felt purposeful with a level of defiance to me. I just respect this song so much I can't even. It's her best writing hands down. So yes to a viral hit only because it deserves to be said in the same breath as Virgin, Vogue, Prayer and Material Girl.

  12. It’s a new show co-created and co-starring The Weeknd. The Idol focuses on Jocelyn (Lily-Rose Depp), an aspiring pop idol who, after having a nervous breakdown that causes her last tour to be canceled, resolves to reclaim her title as the sexiest pop star in America and begins a complex relationship with Tedros (Abel "The Weeknd" Tesfaye), a self-help guru and the head of a contemporary cult. Music is by Mike Dean who also makes a guest appearance in the show. So that’s the Madonna connection there. It would be great if she has new music feature as well.

  13. So it looks like ‘Like A Prayer’ will feature in The Idol? Someone from ukmix mentioned that it was played heavily on the red carpet premiere: Video: https://fb.watch/kHJSRzV0Fi/?mibextid=l2pjGR Even if it’s just a feature, it will give the song a massive push as this show is gonna be massive.

  17. It really shouldn't be that difficult to get a music player whether it's ITUNES or not to play the music you have on your computer and those you purchased in all the same playlist. I like my apple products, but I hate how they try to restrict or take control of what you own.

  19. Many Madonna amazing songs are now semi forgotten from the public conciesness, which is a shame really. I love her, but not specially for Material girl or LAV you know? You´ll see, the power of goodbye, live to tell, secret, drowned world...she was much more than a disco diva.

  20. In my experience, as soon as you try to combine both it gets messy. If you don't mind getting different versions, artwork and metadata changed, etc... then it's OK, I guess. Most people don't care that much about all that, they just want to listen to music. We're the weird ones.

  22. I offloaded iTunes/Apple Music on my phone for that reason. I had taken the time to rip files from my own CDs, properly name each track, each album, made sure they'd appear at the correct places, etc. I then synced the files to my phone. After an update, all the uploaded CD files disappeared from my phone! I was not going to sync it all all over again! And Apple Music would not let me play a remix EP I had actually purchased just because it was taken down… (I still have its files and artwork on a computer and external drives). I may still occasionally purchase files on iTunes (to support the artist some more) and play them on a computer or some form of music player. Have any of you used iPods? If so, are they any better? @MPowered

  26. Like a Prayer is on the soundtrack apparently. There will be more than 1 series/soundtrack though I would imagine. It would be amazing to see that song connect with a young audience like Kate Bush did last year. If any Madonna song can do it, it’s Like a Prayer.

  27. Erotica has a parental advisory for the explicit lyrics of Did you do it, hence why the version without this song doesn't have the logo. American life has parental advisory because she uses the word "fuck" in American Life. Madame X doesn't have any songs that are explicit enough to warrant the logo. The word "bitch" doesn't qualify as explicit, hence why she could get away with it with Thief of hearts and Bitch I'm Loca.

  30. What can I say. Anything iTunes Match, Cloud and Apple Music sync related is doomed from the start. That's what we got from Apple being in a hurry and trying to bring out their streaming service as soon as possible to compete with Spotify. They used all the back end Match and iTunes system so all kind of s**t goes on in the background and it's all based on a late 00s system... iTunes and iTunes Match. That's why the iTunes Store is still going on, by the way (and the pennies they do with it). I've been purchasing music on iTunes from years and years - I still do sometimes when I want to support the artist, since they got more with sales than streaming or if I want to edit the metadata, I'm very picky with titles and stuff. I decided to try Apple Music once and sync my own library with the service and it was SUCH A MESS that I decided I would never do that again. Apple Music is good if you use it just a streaming service right from the start and don't mix with your own music. If this is the only issue you've found so far you're lucky! Most people get live tracks matched with album tracks, album tracks matched with live tracks, explicit versions changed for the clean versions and all kinds of trouble.

  33. There was a "Sweet Home Alabama/Don't Tell Me" mashup that was a big download on Napster back in 2000 during the early days of music piracy. It was just as popular as "Holiday/Music Sounds Better With You" back then. This is clearly a rip-off of that.

  35. It's really messy. My only advice would be NOT mixing your iTunes purchases + CD rips library with Apple Music streaming. It's OK if you have your own music and then pay (if you want) an Apple Music subscription to stream only, but don't mix libraries, don't add streaming music to your own library. Just play and that's it. Keep them separate and everything will be fine. As for iPods, I love them but they're really a thing of the past now. They still work if they were treated right back then, so at least they were high quality products. Of course they're perfect for syncing some music and play it and just forget about it, but... honestly you don't need a phone + an iPod, you can just use an iPhone without syncing your library with Apple Music and you'll be fine.

  37. They have played the new track on the red carpet in Cannes !!!! It starts with M singing with an angel like voice almost acapella, the track builds up to pop/rock jam with a gospel choir growing throughout the song and electric guitar. Epic !

  38. What is “the idol”? New version of American idol? I don’t understand. And what does like a prayer have to do with the weekend? Is there a new remix coming out of like a prayer with the weekend?

  39. with the song blasting on the red carpet, and The Weeknd posting M's photo, Like a Prayer is definitely a part of the show and the song will be given a major push if the series is a success

  44. Padam is an absolute fucking belter and I've not heard such a huge reaction to a song from hers since Head or Lovers TBH. yes tis a bit short but welcome to streaming. Confident there'll be a longer version. If M can come up with anything as catchy and hypnotic with Max I'd be a very happy cig.

  45. I'm not expecting a new album of songs, but I have a feeling she has a new song specifically for the tour that she will unveil soon if not premiere it on tour. Would be a cool idea for her at some point in the show introduce a new song, stating the studio version is available on all digital and streaming platforms.
