This time, her speeches are centered around her 40 year career. They are on point and she has every right to share her story. That's the point of the tour. You may have heard them upteen times on videos, but most people attending these shows are only hearing them for the first time.

I don’t think the speeches were that long earlier in the tour were they? I think 4 minutes talking to the audience twice is fine for a tv broadcast. It’s actually rather weird when performers don’t speak to the audience at all.

But with that logic they should also cut Bad Girl, 5 minutes of her sitting down singing a flop single that only hardcore fans know/like.

Madonna had much greater longevity in the singles charts worldwide than any of her peers. Even MJ's chart career was dead long before Madonna. A lot of her alleged peers like Mariah and Janet never really had many hits outside of the US.

I'm not gonna lie, that fake long note at the end looks absolutely ridiculous. However, it sounds better than every other show. To be honest, the musical director should have had the balls to say to her that her performance of that part doesn't work and offer a better solution musically than either murder it or use playback that doesnt even sound like her voice in her prime. Into The Groove also sounds far better, like the prerecorded vocals she used for the first verse in 2008. However I'd still personally take bad vocals or average vocals over pre recorded excellent ones. That's just me, I appreciate the live stuff and never really enjoy the mimed stuff. However, with it being the last few shows of the tour I don't mind! They'll likely use rehearsal audios for the release anyway, and just be using a mime track here for the energy.

Madonna is and always has been relevant, period. On the other hand, it's true that she's never won the unanimous approval of idiots because she's a rebel and irreverent, but that's always been the case. The real question is not whether Madonna has become less relevant, but rather whether people have become more and more stupid.
