Give me this performance any time of the day or night! It's fire in another unexplainable dimension. And please, Madonna, give us you dancing on a moving side to side stage again too.3 points -
I remember the day I bought the soundtrack on cassette. I thought "there're just 2 Madonna songs in there" maybe it's not worth it. But I bought it anyway. When I got home I played it entirely as it was so good... and when Time Stood Still started playing I WAS MESMERIZED! How could I missed this song for so long? Why wasn't it a single or at least a bit more well-known. It's truly a hidden gem.3 points

Me too, always detested the song, up there with Young Hearts Run Free, Wonderful Life, Whole Of The Moon, Karma Chameleon and True. I can tolerate the Madonna version, especially the remixes which sound nothing like the original, but I don't think its a song I'd like much by anyone. I was so surprised it made number one here. She had so many more songs deserving a number one spot. I'm sure Don was thrilled with his royalties.2 points -

I remember going to the theater to see this with a friend, the soundtrack is really solid, beautiful electronic music minus the rando Christina Aguilera song. My favorite is "This Life" by Mandalay, love the Luke Vibert/Wagonchrist Remix too, and of course Maverick artist Olive's lush cover of 10cc's "I'm Not In Love".2 points -

Wow, the other thread goes "Is MX her worst tour?", I can't answer but it's definitely a rollercoaster of panicking! Worst experience since 1990, when one of the two BAT Rome shows was cancelled and I wasn't able to buy the ticket. One of the worst days of my life. I was too young and unexperienced, if I had gone to Rome I would have found so many tickets there.2 points

I have done a few yoga classes in college a while ago, and to put it simply (hope I'm not being reductive with the matter) the mantra in Shanti/Ashtangi is the opening one, and part of Cyberraga is the closing one. @UnruheI found this transcription, which is the part of Cyberraga that I mentioned: Om Svastih prajābhyah paripālayantām Nyāyena mārgena mahim mahīśāh Gobrāhmanebhyah śubhamastu nityam Lokāh samastāh sukhino bhavantu Om Shanti Shanti Shanti Om I could never find any other information about the other bits of Cyberraga... Don't know what it is, nor have found any other transcriptions of it... And what is weird - or maybe a clue - is that this part, the closing one is the exact bit of the song that she sang in the MDNA Tour performance...2 points -

Yep, Janet's team was the same way when I saw her in 2011. They were demanding things to be deleted, stop recording and putting their hands up in front of people. I think fans want to provide some glimpses despite most of the good footage we've gotten on previous tours is from carefully angled and set up recording rather than using a hidden camera to record audio/video.2 points -

When a tour finishes where does the stage and set go?
Fighter reacted to dylanlioncourt for a topic
They are sometimes reused by other artists or bits used to make new stages, platform and/or structures. Most of the time props and set pieces are put in storage. Britney for example has some of her stage props and pieces at her home (I think the Gimme More boat was seen in her Insta stories at her parents' home)1 point -
When a tour finishes where does the stage and set go?
Fighter reacted to musicinferno for a topic
I read that back in the day, most stages were crushed, melted and recycled. But now it seems parts are rented out to other artists. Katy's Prismatic Tour used the MDNA triangle. Madonna used Pink's Truth About Love Tour stage for the heart endpiece for RHT.1 point -

When a tour finishes where does the stage and set go?
Fighter reacted to theREALmgo for a topic
I actually work as a stagehand, so I could answer this pretty well. After the final show, typically most things from any tour will go back to the warehouse it was rented out from, and as users have stated above, some pieces get rented by other tours. It's a relatively unceremonious thing, and the company that rents it sends it back to the shops they came from (kind of like warehouses for stuff like this), and they all get put away until they're rented again.1 point -

Wouldn't be surprised if they snake a camera or recording device and do Facebook live until they are caught, the feed goes off or their phone/camera dies. Almost every Rebel Heart show had a live stream on Periscope so I wouldn't be surprised if that's their goal but good luck with not getting caught and thrown out.1 point -

Well, they kind of had to with Miami due to a lot of people leaving and of course using Olympia footage and other dates as well. Rebel Heart was originally supposed to a Sydney show before it was a compilation release. With the last two hours and Tears of a Clown, there have been notes and alerts that the show will be taped but nothing has turned up as of yet.1 point -

M's "Shanti/Ashtangi" is a Hindu prayer taken from the Yoga Taravali and yes with after some errors in her pronunciation of Sanskrit shloka "Yoga Taravali" during the song "Shanti/Ashtangi", the BBC arranged for Madonna to take telephonic lessons to learn the basic correct pronunciation of Sanskrit words from eminent scholar Vagish Shastri. She then made the necessary pronunciation corrections on the album.[5][6] In an interview with MTV, Madonna recalled the recording of the album, saying her business partner Guy Oseary was a helpful friend, and that after she and Orbit played him the tracks, he, to their dismay, said nothing and left the studio. "He really hates those icy strings. Right when I think the track's done, he sort of pushes us another step further. 'Maybe we should try this', or 'I really don't want to hear that'.1 point -

Ekans reacted to eXtremeOccident for a topic
I've said it before, and I'll say it again -- The elements are there for a great show, both with the current thematic elements and the existing setlist / choreography. It's the flow that's an absolute mess (I had similar sentiments about Rebel Heart). All this show needs is a better narrative (hence the interlude changes), tighter production, and a set list with songs that are complementary to one another, both via audio / mixing and lyrical content. Additionally, I think way more time could have been put into the choreography and staging, but alas, I'm not trying to reach here...though I still think if she hired Celine's production team from Vegas for a theatre show, this would have been next level...but I digress... Imagine the following....note that there are only 5 song changes, and these were teased at various points (except for Bedtime Story / Secret). I would kill for a show like this. Act 1 - Madame X Is A Prisoner 1. Introducing: Madame X / Joan of Arc (Intro) 2. Dark Ballet 3. Killers Who Are Partying 4. Human Nature 5. What It Feels Like For A Girl 6. Bedtime Story Act 2 - Madame X Is A Head of State 7. The Coffin (Interlude) 8. American Life 9. Papa Don't Preach (Full) 10. Future (Piano Mix) 11. Express Yourself (Full) Act 3 - Madame X Is Traveling Around The World 11. Extreme Occident (Interlude) 12. Batuka 13. Like a Virgin (Fado Style) 14. La Isla Bonita (Welcome To My Fado Club Tempo / Instrumental) (Full) 15. Medellin Act 4 - Madame X Is A Mother 16. Easy Ride Instrumental (Orchestral Interlude Extending Into...) 17. Frozen 18. Rescue Me Interlude / Rescue Me (Full) 19. Come Alive 20. Crave (Tracy Young Mix) Act 4 - Madame X Is A Spy In The House of Love 21. Madame X Manifesto Extended (Interlude) 22. Vogue 23. Secret 24. Justify My Love 25. I Don't Search I Find Act 5 - Madame X Is Bringing Light To Dark Places 26. James Baldwin Quote / Dancer Gunshots (Interlude) 27. God Control 28. Like a Prayer (With Elements of I Rise)1 point -
