I haven’t wanted to express this for fear of contradicting myself as I have been a fierce advocate in defending Madonna for the last few years. I’ve sought to give meaning to her work, her actions, her choices… However, I think it’s clear that the majority of us who have adored Madonna for almost forty years are disillusioned by her more than obvious fall from grace. I’m in awe of anyone who saw this diabolical spectacle and thought it was good. In my opinion, she is a shadow of her former self as a performer. She seems totally lacking in self-confidence, agility, coordination and voice. I can only speculate, but I imagine she has a combination of physical and mental health issues, probably takes prescription meds in addition to self-medicating with alcohol and perhaps cannabis, and simply lives in a delusional world of enablers, sycophants and puppet masters. Her entire image is fraudulent. She looks nothing like the images and videos she presents of herself online. It’s disturbing to think that she is so unwilling to find beauty in truth and authenticity. It’s also the motherload of hypocrisy that negates almost everything many of us have admired. She is a total trickster, and it makes everything seem so incredibly mediocre. I understand that it is difficult to accept hearing this from anyone if you are still onboard with this farce, but I can honestly say that this performance leaves me totally cold. I have never witnessed a more illusion-shattering display. The face, the ass, the stupid corset that makes her seem asthmatic, the ugly outfits, the poor vocals, the inability to know her cues or the lyrics to her own songs. Something is SERIOUSLY wrong with her. It cannot be denied. Perhaps she’ll let us in on the secret some day, but at this rate I see her heading further down a slippery slope. I hope she stops performing entirely. I suppose the silver lining is that with time, these awful years will only further embellish the grace and brilliance of her stardom at its many peaks. I am prepared to be told I should just shut up and leave if I’m no longer enjoying her, and I will. If I have anything else to share, or if Madonna miraculously offers something of merit and worthy of discussion, I’ll post again, but for now, I think it’s time to take a bow.30 points

Ok so before watching I was expecting the absolute worst from the reactions on here. Medellin was cute enough. Music was a bit off and she was not on point. Actually she was clear enough at the end of the performance to realise that Malluma was not on the floor in the right spot and made sure she dragged him back so he wouldnt get injured when the platform descended into the stage, so she wasnt totally out of it, while he looked like he didnt really know what was going on so mom was the one in charge there. Yes there's been some questionable fashion, surgery, over editing and she does seem to have lost her confidence since 2015 somewhat. The Madame X tour was good though. I dont know about anyone else but I'm personally struggling with getting back into real life and work again after two years of covid. Life is tough mentally at the moment. She has also had a really bad injury, which she hasnt recovered from. and has just had a break up..plus I've said it before. Menopause really fucks with your head. You just go blank in the middle of what you are doing , The endless procedures are worrying and the ass is a joke that seems to put her balance and entire movement off. I think she's just going through it a bit at the mo and while i'd keep a cautious eye of concern out for her if I was someone in her team that loved and respected her, this is not a Whitney or Britney situation. She is 63, but 63 really isnt old and she is moving and holding herself in the manner of someone of much advanced years than 63. I think she's obviously in pain and out of sync with her body. Maybe she'll go back and look at this and think..yeah I wasn't great there and a few things need to change. She'll obviously be reconsidering some of her recent life choices as we all do after a break up. She's also observing the arc of her life with the biopic and must have a lot of feelings and thoughts. I hear the voices for concern and while I appreciate that most of them come from a place of love, as well as a little bit of shock that this once seemingly invincible woman is ....less than she was, I think we need to be careful of crossing lines of concern just now. If true insiders have the know on her current state of health (mental and physical), and can hand on heart say there are voices of concern then that's a different matter. But I do trust her. I think shes just been a bit lost for a while and sometimes you need to hit a place pretty low to begin the climb back up. Imma cut her a while heap of slack on this one. I think she's trying to rely on some old and tired over sexualised public tricks and power moves that actually don't serve her very well anymore. They don't make her look powerful so the effect is totally lost. I think Maluma was respectful and Madonna had (sadly) another less than favourable outing...but maybe she knows she needs to get back out there after three years and this was her first day back on the job as it were. Ultimately she didn't look like she was having any fun at all...and that's more the worry for me. We shall see xx Love you mom x19 points -

I see alot of comments about her age, come on guys she's 63 not 93... For her 63 means 43, it's all about her lifestyle/drinking habits/smoking/messing up with her body. It's not related to age especially with Madonna.14 points

I have watched it... at first i was like what the hell is everyone talking about, sure it's not breathtaking but i have seen worse from her lately and i was kind of feeling relieved after all the comments i had read... and then came "Music"... I will try not be over dramatic, but i tell you, and i really mean it, i felt sick to the point my stomach was upside down and felt like i was about to vomit, yes no joke. I felt deeply sad, so sad, watching that woman who owned the worldwide stages like no one else making a fool of herself in front of millions of people... I love her so much that the pain i felt i could feel physically. That was bot bad, that was terrible, very terrible, and that had nothing to do with the clothes or anything... even your regular drunk 70 yo aunt at the local bar does way better... i wanted it to stop as quick as possible, that was one of the most uncomfortable show from a major star i have ever seen, and i cannot believe i am writting this about Madonna. I am not even sure which one is the worse between this and Britney' infamous 'Gimme more' performance... I know something is wrong behind the curtains for a while now, i discuss it often via private message with some members because i don't want to spread negativity on the forum. Now this is one thing that she has issues but the thing is why doing it in front of the world ?!!! i just wish she retire for a while, that people around her help her and when she gets better if she want she can come back under the spotlights but please, for now on, make it stop. This is not nice to watch her destroy herself while everyone applause... If she has a manager, a daughter, a son, anyone around her who loves her and maybe come across that post, help her, take her away from any exposure and help her... but i do believe that Lola is onto something with the medication comment she has posted a few weeks ago 🙏🙏🙏13 points

This is not about age. She's addicted to Percocet and has become an alcoholic. It means she's depressed and that's how she deals with her anxiety and depression. Madonna is not well. I love her, i'm not blaming her. Just 10% of the pressure she has on her shoulders could kill a person. People are gonna twist this as "she's vain and does not want to ageso she drinks to forget about it" but i think this is just a symptom and the reason why she's depressed is much deeper than that. It's the whole behaviour. Not just the body language, mouvements etc...or how she dresses, the bad plastic surgery... It's her speech, the way she acts like she does not know where she is, the way she looks lost. And not just last night but on all her public appearances for the last 3 years at the very least. It's the signs of a person under influence : sluring words, looking lost, acting like a fool...and the feeling of dread and embarassment felt by people witnessing that it is not because her moves are bad, it's because she does not look in charge and in control. Even though i have it from a very good source that it is Percocet and alcohol until someone goes public and says it loud, the only thing we can be sure of is that something is wrong with her. Denying it is not protecting her just like making fun of her is cruel since mental health, drug addiction and alcohol may very well be responsible for the sad spectacle we've been witnessing for years now. I was not on Britney's or Whitney's forums at the time but i guess some of their fans were in denial too, saying nothing was wrong and general public mocked them. What i mean is there's nothing new here. Except who's gonna step up and bring Madonna the help she needs ? The personal implications are huge, she can lose her minor kids and since the twins and Mercy don't have a father...just for that sole reason someone should really tell her to wake up.13 points -

How is Maluma an asshole, that assessment is so off, he actually spent 70% of both performances trying to take care of her. Imagine if this would have been Drake, he would have pushed her off or something.12 points -

Madonna is a professional performer with 40 years in the biz. Rehearsal or no rehearsal, prepared or not prepared. Earpiece or no earpiece... everything we saw was not up to her standard or even the standard of any professional. Something is very wrong.12 points -

She's gone. Some fans still try to spin this positively because they can't face the truth. It is not helping her. Alcohol and Percocet have killed Madonna, how long before they kill the person ? You'd better make peace with it now because it's ony gonna get worse.12 points -

After all the criticism, I went to revisit her 2019 mtv live version, a ghosh, was it great! She looked amazing, and he also did, and they danced beautifully and all was perfectly and carefully done, with great taste. I was not a great fan of that era (my father died when this album came and sadly, I linked that time and the album with my suffering; ok not madonna´s fault) , but I underated this! So, this was not some long ago and far away. I think if she really wants, she can be close to that great level again.11 points -

She did a whole show and a tour, injured, three years ago. And that was also after Eurovision. Relax. She's gonna be OK. She just's not gonna be BAT Madonna anymore. (Even Rebel Heart Tour Madonna wasn't BAT Madonna no more and that's fine). Ironically, checking Twitter general comments about last night, the worst comments are from hardcore fans, the rest are quite positive? Legend, queen, etc. etc. General public seem to care less about comparing her to her old self that her own fans. That's quite refreshing.11 points
-
Excuse me, but I have the impression that those who try to justify her saying she hasn't rehearsed enough or she hasn't a proper backing track or she was nervous are offending her more than the critical fans, because they treat her as a beginner at her first performance. Do you really think that she's not experienced enough to remember the lyrics and cues to Music, one of the songs she has performed the most live in these past 20 years?11 points

And please don't start call us haters because we stayed up all night to support her and now we feel so miserable to admit something was wrong.11 points

Its time everyone here comes to the realization that she does not have it anymore. Fucked up the lyrics, horrible outfit and out of breath the whole time. Incredibly mediocre performance. The magic is gone and if she is not prepared to put effort into what she does, I will never attend another of her concerts ever again.11 points -

Lol guys, it's time for us (fans) to let go... The Madonna we know is gone forever. When I told someone over here that she won't tour again, that's exactly what it was in my mind. A whole mess of show... I gave up on her for good. Everything is bad... Literally from styling to her moves... I feel bad for Maluma. She did no good to him. I felt like watching another person singing a Madonna song (Music). It's really crazy because we're talking about MADONNA. IS THIS REAL??????????10 points -

I hate how divided this community has become. I thought we were fans throughout the good AND the bad times. It's not like Madonna is dying or has single-handedly caused the apocalypse. It was just a random guest appearance that didn't go as well as we all hoped, but it's not the end of the world. Everything will be okay. Madonna ain't done yet.9 points -

How many humiliating live performances is it going to take for people to realize what I have known forever at this point, she is now a shadow of the live performer she was even five or six years ago and I dont see it being corrected. If she cant even do two tracks without fucking up, does anyone seriously think she would be able to pull off a tour. She is simply not willing to put in the effort needed to give quality performances, if she wants to embarrass herself, thats her choice but until I see some improvement, I wont be attending any future live events of hers.9 points -

Wow just watched it and guys, honestly, I'll for ever be a fan, at the same time I'm really afraid this is it for her. She really seems not to be aware of the effect she gets onstage anymore, her limits, her real look, she neither seems taking care of anything of it, not the voice, not the coreo (she doesn't remember the steps, doesn't rehearse or excercize a little and honestly at her age this way you can't move), not the image (and it's not about ageing). It's just like all another person, not M. Is it an evolution? Maybe, absolutely, but it's got nothing to do with art and talent. I mean, how did we get to this?8 points

Well if i have one positive thing to say it's that Medellin with a live band sounds great. As for the rest, it was very sad to see. Medellin was okay, the autotune, arrangement and passable dance moves saved it, but Music was probably one of, if not THE, worst performance of her career. She looked so tired and out of breath that at some point i seriously thought she was going to pass out. The styling was a choice, and she even missed cues. Deep down I truly hope she is okay cause it seems to me that something is wrong with her lately. I'll always love her but THAT wasn't a good performance and she didn't really seem to enjoy it either.8 points -
This performance was a heartbreaking experience. The Brit Awards had a mistake of falling down the stairs, but Madonna got back up like a queen and finished the show beautifully. So every time I watch that scene, I get a real pain in my stomach, but I'm still proud of Madonna and I can watch it again. But this was a performance that felt like a death sentence. The brutal death sentence for Madonna's career in front of tens of thousands of people.8 points
