Not to be hateful towards her or anything, but this seems like the most realistic reaction from the audience here. Based on the audio recordings and the stories she shares on Instagram, the opening, while it's an epic song, wasn't really performed in the best way possible nor with an epic entrance like say Girl Gone Wild at MDNA Tour or Future Lovers at Confessions Tour. People leaving early? they were leaving early in most dates because she was late and many wanted to catch public transport or trains to other cities. Management and security issues? well yeah, those are no long surprising, seeing that they made ticket sales a lottery and sent out merchandise 6 months later, were never on time, scheduled and cancelled so many dates..etc. As for the polaroid, I'm actually really glad that people offered $400, because really, why would anyone pay $4000 or or $6000 or even $1000 for a polaroid that is badly photographed, mimics roughly the same pose every time and doesn't even feature the fan or the singer's autograph? Like I'm not one to tell you what to spend your money on, but for me just because there's a price tag on something or someone paid a certain amount for that something, doesn't mean that the quality and value of said thing is worth the price. You may say "who are you to decide?" well who is anyone else to decide that it's worth more or less? The fact that this tour is selling way less than her past tours and the polaroid has had some issues and low bids before and now too, goes to show that people value their money more than hype culture, which is a good thing, and that just because she's Madonna doesn't mean that she could put shit in a box and write $1000 on it. Many people thought a terrible seat for $500 isn't worth it for them, so they didn't go. The beer bitch moment seemed rather weird as multiple times people mentioned her being rude towards the person, like saying "do people have jobs in Greece?" or making fun of their accent or telling them that they should've thought of better answers..etc. That's really rude and for someone who have paid to see her or hell even met her in the street, no need to talk to people like that and kindness is free. She may not "owe" them anything, but common decency is a thing really. The fact that someone respected you enough pay for your show should be at least treated with some basic manners and gratitude, regardless of how famous or rich you are.

Yikes. From MadonnaTribe: Opening night in Francisco didn’t go too well - the crowd was seated for much of the show including many in the front row which clearly upset madonna . During god control most of the crowd remained seated until mid way through when they finally woke up, woke up, woke up woke up... One fan who I know has seen Madonna 100+ times around the world including most of the NY and Chicago shows said “this was the worst crowd at any Madonna show I’ve ever seen”. Eek. Try harder San Francisco!! A couple in the front row left during Human Nature - Madonna asked “why?” And called them “trash” who were probably wearing Banana Republic!! Adding to the problems is that the stage is 12feet from the front row. Madonnas management were asking fans in the front row to fill the gap but venue security kept sending them backward. There were no serious bidders for the Polaroid. Someone offered $400 and was told by a playful madonna to fuck off, so a friend of Madonna’s bid $10k and promised to pay later. The Beer Bitch moment looks to continue to be over for now at least, and was Madonna sat on the stairs having a group chat with the audience, although one fan was chosen to hand her the beer before the group chat began. She excited on the beer bitch side as there was no centre aisle. Hopefully the next night in San Francisco will Come Alive!

Two considerations: 1) if people are able to spend at least 800$ to sit front row I don't get why they can't have a taxi instead of public transport... if they leave early I think it's because they are tired or they don't like the show 2) If she really wanted to raise a lot of money for Malawi she could at least sign the polaroid with a personalized dedication or even better take a selfie together with the fan. We'd all want to spend money on that! She doesn't put any effort on it so she deserves a cold reaction. Sorry, but I don't like this polaroid idea at all. (And please don't reply "if you don't want it then you don't buy it" because as fans we are weak and it's easy to waste money on that... I need to be rational because I can't deny that I thought about buying it because we all want to share 10 seconds of our life with M)

So I was looping the album on Spotify as usual, but only just realised a couple minutes ago that Act of Contrition transitions SO DAMN WELL into Like A Prayer contextually!!!!! HER MIND!!! We all know AOC instrumentals are LAP on reverse, almost like a sinful reverse of the religious experience that is LAP. I thought that was all there was about it for many years, in fact I used to hate AOC and felt it was redundant. But then I realise that lyrically, she's confessing but got rejected at the gates of heaven in the end, she didn't get her reservation. The guitar fades off, at this point I almost feel like she is falling from heaven. THEN, when Spotify played the first track I literally felt chills all over. The guitar fades in, we hear the slam of a heavy door like a rejection. She literally sings that she's falling out of the sky. Life is a mystery, everyone will stand alone, I hear you call my name and it feels like home. We have her re-discovering religion and experiencing life's struggles all over again throughout the album tracks, reaching heaven's gate again at the end. It even feels like a reincarnation cycle if the album keeps looping. How did I only realise this now!!!! I wonder if this was her intention or am I thinking too much...the continuation is too brilliant.

Well sorry to sound heartless but charity begins at home and Madonna has enough cash to donate to Malawi. Not to mention the whole concept just seems off. All that time she lived in NYC and never seen a comedian do this? FFS I went to Joan RIver's A Piece of Work, VIP, front row and backstage pass for less than $200. She was glorious and she has fans come up and undo her costume zip and threw her "incontinence pad" to someone in audience - the show I went to it was lucky me which she then signed backstage. There's just something off with this tour, it's like the theatre version of the film "The Money Pit". Remember she used to throw her guitar pick out into the audience...now I'd expect someone from management coming to person who caught it to say it costs then $1000...!

Yeah, she was shouting for dear life and making a scene deliberately to get her attention. I mean to be a big fan in the triangle no less and be shouting at Madonna (not knowing her politics, well she did) and Madonna did acknowledge her once or twice by staring but never fully responded. It was awkward for sure.

I really don't understand why her team don't upload her performances on her channel.

To me the ending of "Voices" with the bells seguing into "Girl Gone Wild" works.

Maybe she wanted to open the album with AOC but in the end it was too kooky so they just stuck it on the end. It would kinda explain the out of place Prince guitar opening up Like a Prayer. They were meant to be listened back to back. She kinda achieved this by placing it as the last song. Interesting.... Gotta go listen now.

Meh - some crowds are better than others. Who remembers the crowd for one of the sticky and sweet dates - actually that performance was a hot mess lol no one sang with her during the request part, I think during ROL she was really off key (couldn’t hear herself ) and the mic stand fell over lol

My tickets arrived in the mail a few days ago. The reminder email from Ticketmaster also says that will call tickets can be picked up at the venue when you arrive. All tickets are physical/paper tickets, it says.

I'm So Stupid, as American Life was the first Madonna album I've listened to.

In some respects I consider #secretproject to be like an unofficial tour documentary, it was filmed while she was on tour in Buenos Aries, and captured her state of mind at the time, how she felt about current events in the world etc, and in this interview she mentions various things that happened on tour in different cities

Lazy and cheap sounding "reinterpretations" of oldies Almost exclusively songs from Rebel Heart and the 80s...the 90s and 00s were ignored almost entirely yet she decided to dg out almost every fucking single from her worst 80s album (LAV). The show didn't match up to the intro at all...it was too cutesy and too light-hearted for a show that seemed to have been originally conceived as way darker and more political (like the album itself). The album was one of her best in a long time and had a great concept and story attached t it, the tour failed to transport any of that into the show and instead seemed like a mixed bag of rehashed ideas scrambled together into a show that was not cohesive in any way. The song selection within the sections was beyond terrible and random? Candy Shop was performed AGAIN. A lot of the tour versions sounded like watered down album versions and Holiday was the most bland, unnecessary version she has ever done of it. All in all, this show had exactly one purpose: to please casual fans and to have a DVD that would sell well (due to the amount of 80s songs in it).
