Britney Mentions Madonna 17 Times in New Book

Madonna’s name is mentioned a whopping 17 times throughout The Woman in Me. As a young girl, Spears idolized the star—and wanted to be like her. Once Spears was on the awards show circuit, she started running into Madonna “all over the world.”

Later, when Spears decamped in Cher’s old NoHo apartment, Madonna droppedby for a visit. “She walked into the place and immediately, of course, she owned the room. I remember thinking, it’s Madonna’s room now,” Spears writes. 

In Madonna, Spears found a mentor. “Madonna’s supreme confidence helped me see a lot about my situation with fresh eyes. I think she probably had some intuitive sense of what I was going through. I needed a little guidance at that time,” she writes. Madonna performed a red-string ceremony with Spears to initiate her into Kabbalah; she also gifted Spears a “trunk full” of Zohar books.

It was while rehearsing for the VMAs that Spears had the idea to feature Madonna on Me Against the Music, her latest single at the time. She approached Madonna directly with the request, and the rest was history.

Spears’ admiration for Madonna, and her “supreme confidence,” is made clear. “If I could go back now, I would try to become my own parent, my own partner, my own advocate—the way I knew Madonna did,” she reflects. During their Me Against the Music shoot, Spears was in awe of how Madonna refused to compromise her artistic vision and integrity. “It was an important lesson for me,” Spears writes. “One that would take me a long time to absorb: she demanded power, and so she got power.”

So awesome.  I'm so glad Madonna could be her mentor and she had her to look up to.  Madonna is a great blue print for success. It's so weird how she still managed to lose control of her life as she did.  Let's hope she's getting her life back in order.

Britney & Christina are slightly older than me.  I always liked Christina more than Britney (looks, attitude and voice)and actually thought she had more in common with Madonna.

 

But Britney and Madonna have always long sincerely loved each other and I think there's something to be said for that.  I'm not surprised Madonna has a big part in her book

Same here. Reading the audiobook right now (Michelle Williams was a great choice). Madonna is heavily featured in very positive light; it's clear Britney still looks up to Madonna a great deal and sees her as a mentor.

I read that almost all of this book was ghost written and it rewrites a lot of history based upon what the ghost writer thinks is more of a sensational spin.

The people who were Britney Spears' handlers (odd, why does someone have handlers?) have given her so much lithium and drugs during her life, that I doubt she could write a book.

Madonna saved Britney sending her lawyers in and we know it. She even posted 'were coming to get you'  Oh course she cant save her mental health issues but give Brit a break, shes been mentally tortured for most of her life. She doesnt need anymore bullying shes fking had enough already.

Why People choose to believe this without any real evidence whatsoever other than "I feel she's crazy because she's posting a 15sec video of herself dancing with underwear and not using make-up the way I want her to use on instagram".
