Lossless is basically the highest quality audio of the album or single, with no loss, as the artist created it. It can be the original master with no loss. Some formats such as FLAC or WAV are considered lossless. CD can be too if the original master is 16 bits (if the master is 24 bits it's not). Most digital platforms use compressed files cause that's the way it all started in the early 00s: quality was sacrificed to get small, convenient files. At first it was quite bad, 128 kbps quality, which is not good at all. Around 2008-2009 with better storage options on mobile devices and MP3 players, it changed to a 320 kbps MP3/256 kbps AAC standard which is much better and closer to CD quality (but worse than CD quality in the end). In most A/B tests with CD quality vs Spotify/Apple Music quality, most people can't tell the difference. But there is a difference, of course. Audiophiles have been asking for years for a lossless option on Spotify and Apple Music, so it's good that they're finally offering it for them.

So I was watching some audience videos of the Medellin performance at the BMAs: And these are my thoughts: 1) Just imagine if they have reintegrated the "holograms" in the dvd 2) The use of a backing track is so heavy, but still you can clearly hear Maluma singing live with harmonies, not at all Madonna @scion 3) In the last section the scene is totally stolen by Oxana all dressed in red, who dances like crazy and seems to be the only one who really enjoys the performance

We shouldn't forget Princess Diana either. It was a massive deal for her to actually hug AIDS patients at time when people were still afraid to be in the same room with someone with the Virus. Liz Taylor did so much as mentioned M didn't just support AIDS causes, but supported loving who you want to love and being yourself. As a young gay man she helped me in some dark times. Just knowing someone out there accepted me. A lot of young people are ignorant to the past. There are still Gaga fans who want to credit her for total LGBTQ+ acceptance and even blamed M for spreading AIDS. I find in general it is best to just ignore them. We as fans just need to stop fighting and instead do what M won't do. Share her legacy far and wide. I am in the process of putting together some YT vids and other stuff. Might take some time but will get it out there. I would rather that than fighting with people who are ignorant and don't want to acknowledge what M did for us, regardless of receipts. They are not worth the energy

Mmm, maybe not Forgive me @Voguerista but many of us still hope that the show is not reworked too much and that you can feel the "live" experience. I feel the holograms would take it away more than filters and saturated colours. But she reshot some scenes, let's see what she will do.

Absolutely. I thought this was a terrific performance and I really enjoyed it. The new audio they ever really put on the official video suggests ah was in fact singing though... although you don't really hear her on the MXT performances of Medellin from what I've heard on boots. I am so excited for the release, I didn't end up going in the end, once the short shows started I realised I couldn't see the value in it and didnt buy the last minute tickets I planned on, but I'm very excited for the DVD :D

I think I'm an ET because I simply don't use streaming at all! And the reason is that basically I don't give up my personal library to replace it for something I don't have control over. I mean, I'm a perfectionist. I have every album, every single, every version, everything organized, in the best quality possible. Streaming make us limited to what they offer. Madonna's discography available on streaming is a mess! They've changed the original tracks, they've changed the artworks, they've changed the masters, it's not great at all. My favorite music is not current music, from 20's to 90's, some of 00's, current music from current artists generally sucks (only my taste). I only like what the artists who started before keep doing. Like Madonna. The problem is: streaming gives us remasters, loud, compressed, horrible music (talking, specially about 70's and 80's), so I don't care if it's lossless or not, the master already sucks. I prefer CD quality with DR than a High Res file remastered and compressed. Example: Diana Ross, The Boss. You only find a horrible remaster online, not only on streaming but also to download. I'd NEVER replace my personal digital and physical copy to stream it and lose quality. (If someone wants the original mastering, please let me know so I can share it). Michael Jackson's albums were killed on remasters. And there're zillion examples. I prefer to pay VOX premium and create my own "streaming" than paying Spotify, Deezer, Tidal and etc... I know I sound like an "old mind" but I don't care. Quality comes first, that's the way I think.

Interesting topic. You forgot one option: buying digital music. I know is a thing of the past but some still do it. I do with releases or artists I want to support, cause they get more money from it and I like to edit metadata and stuff. I think it's a good thing that HD audio arrives to Spotify and Apple Music so people who want that option have it available. They already have the option to do it, as they receive lossless files from the record companies. It's just a matter of offering the option. TIDAL and them receive the same files. Anyway, I don't think it's gonna be a mainstream thing. Lossless subscription will probably cost double the price of standard. And we know most people don't care that much about audio quality - it's hard to tell the difference between 256 AAC/320 MP3 and CD with regular equipment. I'm happy it's coming for all the audiophiles out there though, I don't know why it's taken them so long.

An idea to all of our media Gods! How about AI-upscaling the DWT Detroit video release we've got and dubbing it with the PERFECT eargasmic soundboard audio from LA? Goshhh I can't stand the audio mastering they did for the DVD.

Fincher finished shooting MANK just when Madonna ended the tour. Fincher's team managed to have MANK fully edited in just a few weeks. On Adobe freegin' Premiere. With a smaller team of editors than Madonna uses for the MX Tour. Just saying.

I still buy my music. Ideally from an artist’s bandcamp. Artists Dont make money off of streaming, so them going lossless wont change anything for me. Streaming is practical, but it’s basically legitimized illegally downloading music.

You obviously didn't go to Confessions or MDNA then, a good 25/30% of each of those shows pre-recorded on most dates. Confessions, depending on the leg of the tour, featured so much lead vocal playback that it's probably her most lip synched concert ever, and in fact, in the first half an hour of MDNA there's literally about five or six minutes of live vocals, and I don't mean on the DVD. Sticky and Sweet was probably the last large tour she did where she sang pretty much the entire concert live besides one or two songs. I mean at this stage and now she's slowly down I do think her voice was shown on the Madame X tour to be in particularly good shape. I'm very excited for this DVD :D

Absolutely, the ignorance is huge... Do not take Madonna for an insane old woman, she's actually one of the most intelligent famous female of this world. The hydroxichloroquine is not one of those "crazy theories from the web", come on, a lot of renowned scientist of the world have spoken about it and are furious they are not talen seriously. We are not talking about crazy geek teens behind their computers in their bedrooms, we are talking about famous and renowned scientists and doctors, some of them, like Didier Raoult had tons of high medecine prices all over the world.

Yeah, I see this thread getting ugly. All I am going to say is; even if there was something amiss with her these days, we've had a good run of entertainment and music from her. 4 decades and not many entertainers can claim that. I don't necessarily agree things have gone down hill for her in the past years. I also don't think her management is really the problem. After all, she's totally in charge. I know some hate Guy O., but he's been wanting to do more with her past work (like most fans want), but Madonna is preventing that from happening. She's always had a keen sense in business as Guy O. Of course, nothing is perfect. Nothing is always guaranteed. Though, she's hardly living in the poor house. She's still touring and recording music that she wants to record despite what some fans think. In the end, it's her ship. It's bound to hit some icebergs. No one can bat a 1000 all the time. I think some fans get stuck in an era or two and enjoy and want her to keep producing that same sort of magic. Sorry, that's not Madonna. She evolves and I think some fans have a hard time doing the same. All I know is that I still enjoy her very much. That's what I try to concentrate on. I don't believe worrying about Madonna's career at this point is something we should concern ourselves with especially when there are far more important things to worry about. I prefer to enjoy what she gives us, than pick apart what isn't perfect. After all, I've enjoy so much from her, more than not. What's next? I'm sure something fantastic and enjoyable like all her past work. I'm sure she's going to take some time to get her health back on track, and then probably look into doing a film. Then an album again.
