  1. It seems to be the original HBO cut judging by some shots and not the DVD version? They show more Madonna and less audience in some parts, like the beginning of D&D (Can You Feel It?...) I like it!

  5. This more of a question for another thread, but besides the “Tokyo 1993 anniversary,” do you think this might be a hint of what’s coming first in the Warner partnership?!

  11. I don’t miss mid 90’s Madonna. 95 to 98 was a fucking chore. Bedtime Stories is one of my favourite albums now but the energy completely dropped out of her star between The Girlie Show and Ray Of Light. It was the decade of side and film projects and I’d have much rather had two more studio albums but no use complaining it’s done. The sheer amount of ballad songs is exhausting. Thank god she pretty much killed the Madonna ballad in the 00’s.

  12. Ok, because I am really bored and home sick today I calculated the top 10 based on votes so far. The top 2 are no surprise, though i didn't vote as i tried to limit to those tours I had seen myself. I need to rewatch DWT, lots of favourites in that tour, which I am not as familiar with...

  14. It was for the 2003 box set, which comprised of remastered albums in 5.1 dvd audio. Never heard of anything planned around Confessions, I don’t think Angela ever planned anything retrospective-wise during her time as a manager. from Madonna.com: Dec 16 2002 Ask Caresse part 3 Below is the third installment of Caresse Henry Q&A: Tom asks This is a quick question regarding DVD Audio. I was pleasantly surprised to see Madonna is going to release some titles in this new format. Would it be possible for you to find out, when these are going to be released for the UK market and whether or not they are going to be remastered in the 5.1 format which a couple of videos and lyrics and images? CARESSE: The DVD's will be part of the Madonna Ultimate Box Set which is tentatively scheduled for release Winter 2003 - they will be 5.1 mix and I am sure additional content will also be added.

  18. MadonnaTribe announced in the early 2010s that a couple tours (The Girlie Show and I think The Virgin Tour) were being remastered and released on Blu-ray but when someone asked Liz about it, she said it was false. Maybe there were talks about it but then never approved. Then that caused an uproar which made Guy have a meeting with Warner about tour releases and claimed "it's a start." I bet Warner was interested all along and Madonna kept saying no.

  20. I just watched this on my 4K TV and The Girlie Show has never looked better. I'll be happy if the full show looks this good. They even left her topless dancer uncensored and kept the orgy in. Hopefully YouTube doesn't catch this and flag it. This must mean her team is already hard at work remastering her projects. GIVE US EVERYTHING!!

  21. And it starts... This better be a tease to a Blu-ray with the Erotica anniversary release.

  22. It was Caresse’s initiative that Madonna greenlit. It’s no different than any other project that came out during that period. Money was already spent on it. Kevin Reagan did the artwork. Stuart did the remastering.

  27. Not Madonna. That crazy woman blocked me. Oxana blocked me too for calling her out for making those fake tickets. When Madonna posted a video of the madame x tour beer bitch speeches and oxana and her friend was perving in the background trying to get closer the security pounced and moved her away i was cackling for hours. Karma's a bitch

  28. The details ! Not only we can see every single sequin oh her shorts but at one point during D&D we can perfectly see Carlton's dick under his pants, so much so that he suddenly hides it with his hands.

  29. IMO i think a focus on getting all the tours on streaming first should be the priority. Only fans will buy physical releases and they could easily make it a limited physical edition with a book or something thats numbered.

  30. I loves me some Spress Yerself. What I love so much about this performance music wise, it captures a lot of both the remix and original. The heavy synths, beats and strings from the remix, horns and guitar on the chorus like the original.

  31. It's not a coincidence most legacy acts are selling their catalogs. Most record labels are sweating to find new artists and for some reason there's a race to buy and sell everyone's legacies. I think these 2 reasons are connected. I mean...what was the last main pop girl to debut? Ariana 10 years ago? Dua in 2015? I read an article on this a while ago and i understand why record labels would turn to nostalgia, specially in a time most current music is inspired by previous decades. The Weeknd just got the biggest USA hit in history with Blinding Lights...that song is pure 80's in every way done currently.

  32. It's definitely the HBO version, at least for Deeper and Deeper. You can check out the comparison here, from 23:00 onwards (Deeper & Deeper only). The shots are identical.

  35. I honestly think it will be Anne only because if you've seen her feed she's been posting vague Madonna-esque things and Aaron has been liking the photos and she's been captioning stuff like good things coming etc. I think Florence is/was pushed by Universal. Awhile back supposedly there was an actress reading and it WASN'T florence.

  37. Your post here really just resonated with me and took me back to 1992. Like you say, Madonna hadn't released anything since The Immaculate Collection in 1990, and information on artists and New releases was so much more difficult to find out. I was only 16 when The Immaculate Collection was released. As far as I was concerned, and was led to believe, a greatest hits package was an artist's way of grouping all their best work together and then signing off. I was under the impression that Madonna, my favourite artist, had called it a day. Seems crazy to have thought that now. The release of This Used To Be My Playground came out of nowhere and the track absolutely stunned me when I first heard it. She was back, and The Immaculate Collection had not been the end. The long version became the default listen as I found the single version too short. I found the music to it beautifully haunting, and on many occasions, then and since, there's been a lump in my throat by the end of the song. How utterly raw with emotion it sounded, about someone looking back at their childhood, just at the point when I was on the brink of turning 18 and leaving my childhood behind. Yeh, it unfortunately appears to be a forgotten and overlooked song, but not with me. Like the Erotica album which followed not too far behind, it arrived at a really huge time in my life. Pretty special.

  38. someone mentioned it already, but yes, Kevin Antunes as lead music director for her last 4 tours. It takes away the "live" sound experience from her shows. He has said he prefers to sample from the original steams and tapes to "respect the producer's original intention" but dude, I don't pay for a live show to hear exactle the song as on the album. I wanna hear real drums, real guitar, a real bass. I believe the only moment with real instrumentation on the Rebel Heart show was the title track. the Madame X shows had this hybrid thing that kinda worked in some tracks and didn't in others. but she deserves a real band with a real live sound.

  40. Her opening an Instagram account. Because of it she's been involved in several controversies and moments that have made me give her the side-eye, plus I think she's the type of artist who's generally more interesting when there's an aura of mystique around her life, which Instagram has kind of ruined.

  41. As for me, I always wait for the ballad moments. That is when you get real live vocals and when the show gets emotional. Crazy for you RIT, Drowned world CT, You must love me SS. I'd love hundreds of moments like these.

  42. Excuse me??? Those were great setlist choices and performances, they were executed so theatrically, especially Lament, both placed perfectly in the setlist in order to be the emotional peak of the segment of the show, how are that trite???

  44. I kind of like that it lives left behind in the time it was released. It’s a bit of a picture postcard if that time for me. It’s an incredibly nostalgic song lyrically anyway but even the sound of the song it very melancholy and it’s one of Madonna’s songs that takes me back to a very specific time in my life when I hear it. Summer 92 and it was the summer I was leaving school so its released was very aptly timed for me. Knowing I’d never see my longstanding school crush again. He tragically died a few years later so the songs always brings back a very specific set of feelings. So for me personally I kind of like that I have to hunt it out when I want to hear it rather than hearing it around all the time.
