More likely she felt they were both too nostalgic in the lyrics for her to perform on tour

Speaking of "I'll Remember". Back in the day I remember a few radio stations playing the edit version of this song. The same edit used on the official video. Has that version ever been released on audio?

The edited version used it the video is about 20 seconds shorter than the album version

I don´t think she thinks doing ballads live is a great idea, and I disagree: You´ll see or gone, crazy for you, Live to tell, OH Father, Rain, La vie en rose, drowned world...all peak moments of her live concerts.

Ballads are definitely peak moments. I'd love an acoustic performance of I'll Remember

I don't believe she thinks that since every tour usually includes several ballads.  Anyway, she's never really stated why she's never performed those songs other than what @GregVsMattposted.  Though, I always thought she probably felt they have too much of a finality to them, like it is her throwing the towel in.  Maybe a bit too depressing for a lot of her shows.

Actually in that 2019 Billboard video she explains why she never performs those songs at her concerts LOL.

Yes, I'm aware of that, and I acknowledged GregVsMatts post when posting.  But she didn't really go in to detail in why she doesn't perform them.  That's what I meant!

it was literally composed by the guy from the video... Madonna changed the lyrics.

I would love to hear I'll remember, it could be a tribute to her fans. I remember (lol) when it came out, a new single was anounced and I was sure it was gonna be Words or Thief of Hearts but then it was this totally new and amazing song that I kept playing on a loop until secret

It’s actually sounds like something from Jagged Little Pill In this style. Could absolutely imagine Alanis singing it and the lyrics feel very Alanis too. Who would have thunk.

It’a a shame this and Playground have never once been performed live anywhere.

I think the main reason this song was never performed is because there was no tour for a long time after it was released. And it’s really just never fit anywhere since.

She did state in 1998 that she likes this song in the Molly Meldrum interview. There have been many songs she has acknowledged after years of never performing them eg, Take a Bow, Who’s That Girl, Borderline, True Blue…. So I think anything is possible.

I hope she performs this. It is a great song. 

And I hope Stewart is really the musical director of the tour so ALL will sound so much better!

And I mean,  musical arrangements, well done transitions, all voices on point....especially MADONNA!!

This song never clicked for me.

I don’t know why. I love most Patrick Leonard tracks, but I do hope she gives us a live performance of it at some point (along with Playground).
