  2. Ah yes it was mentioned in Icon 27 (not by Liz but the editors) - that's not an announcement though - eg no release date, artwork, track list etc

  3. Actually...no. And We have Madonna on tape talking about that album Starting at minute 1:06 Madonna herself: "I was thinking of doing a remix album called Veronica Electronica as an alter-ego, which is very goth" And as soon the interviewer asks her if she still has that idea, Madonna was clear: "Yes, but i'll need to enlist the services of William Orbit who's currently working on someone else's record so, maybe down the line". Saying it was simply a nickname with bootlegs is factually wrong. There was a clear plan and a concept for that.

  5. ^ is there a need for that. Give your head a wobble

  6. It was Greatest Hits: The Second Coming which was one of the original titles for GHV2 rather than a cancelled release, Veronica Electronica was never announced - it was M's nickname and some bootlegs came out called that. That's all Your post was suggesting that Madonna was an artist that has a history of announcing and cancelling releases which is not the case. Anything announced under the reissues campaign will be released.

  7. Hello everyone! I have heard for ages the version that the 1987 Causing a Commotion performance was broadcasted live during the awards ceremony directly from one of the italian shows. Now I'm doing some research for the next episode of my podcast (Santa Madonna) on the MTV Madonna appearances and there's something that doesn't add up. According to Wikipedia, the VMAs that year aired live on September 11, 1987 and they even list her as one of the performers "live from Italy". Now the Who's That Girl Tour had ended a few days earlier on September 6th in Firenze, and the one I have in my files even says it's from the September 4th show in Torino. So what's the real deal here? Did they play a tape of the 4th and they lied about it being live? Or is the Wikipedia date on the 87 VMA's wrong and they really were on the 4th instead of the 11th?

  8. That doesn't confirm anything. It was an idea, that never went into production. Yeah, she verbalized it. But at the end of the day, It never was officially announced.

  10. On Madonna’s visit to Much Music in Canada at the release of ROL she herself said Veronica Electronica was something they were working on as a remix album

  11. I can’t dislike a photo?? I don’t like photoshopped faces and don’t like young girls being obsessed with just their body and sex. What’s wrong with that? if Lola’s generation like the porn-whore aesthetic, so what? Go ahead. I just don’t think it’s cool or smart…not sure what my crime is. Speaking the truth perhaps? *sigh*

  14. Neither of them had press releases or release dates the way the reissues have (press release in this specific case). There is a difference between something being canceled and something just not happening. The CBS special was canceled. The Amazing single release was canceled. Unless they flat out say the reissues are canceled, there is no reason to panic or be "nervous". Her career is not defined by canceled releases.

  15. You haven't seen the Taylor Swift fandom and it shows They are notorious for counting the steps of stairs she posts and holes on fences to guess when the new thing is coming. Good thing Madonna fans actually have a life and not so much free time.

  17. Hi everyone ! Since we'll soon be celebrating the 40th anniversary of Madonna's career (!!), and due to popular demand, I'll organize a megarate for every single Madonna album. Let's start where it all began, the first album, released in 1983. As requested by most users who participated to the last game, non-album tracks from the same era will also be included. Rules: - Make sure to know all the songs included in the competition. - Rate each song from 1 to 10. You are allowed to give the same rate to multiple songs. - Decimals are allowed only up to the hundredth (HIGHLY RECOMMENDED WHEN YOU CAN IN ORDER TO AVOID TIES). - You are allowed to give one 0 and one 11 (OPTIONAL). - Send your rates to me by personal messenger before December 15th, NOT in the thread. Results: #1 - 8,73 - Borderline #2 - 8,48 - Burning Up #3 - 8,34 - Holiday #4 - 8,13 - Lucky Star #5 - 7,90 - Physical Attraction #6 - 7,38 - Everybody #7 - 6,53 - Think of Me #8 - 6,08 - I Know It #9 - 5,72 - Ain't No Big Deal Good luck to everyone !

  18. The amount of bitterness and jealousy radiating from some people who’ve never achieved anything in life is nauseating and quite tragic. I support any fan who gets recognised by their hero.

  26. I don't think it would have been 'LIVE' as the timings probably wouldn't add up.

  28. Well, I got some unpopular opinions. From The First Album to Vogue, I've little to complain: yes, to me I'm Breathless is just a pointless album, a collection of cheesy, irritating songs - and Holiday, Angel, Dress You Up, Causing A Commotion, The Look Of Love should have been promoted with REAL videos - but she always chose the right singles to promote her albums. I'm still not sure about Erotica as lead single: IMHO Rain could have been a better choice, and it would have mitigated the controversy around the SEX book... and why she chose Fever as fifth single whe there was something like Why's It So Hard? Music promotion should have been longer, and [first unpopular opinion] the Above & Beyond remix of What It Feels Like For A Girl is definitely one of her most perplexing choices: I mean, not only the album version is better, but with all the great tracks in Music, why ending the brief Music promotion with such a generic, forgettable remix? WHY? What was the point of that? To show Guy Ritchie's "talent"? The whole American Life era: [second unpopular opinion] sorry but I DON'T GET THE HYPE. It's not a bad album, I overall like it, but the result doesn't match its political, songwriting ambitions. it totally lacks a killer track, and the title track is a mess that deserves all the bad reviews. Beat Goes On and She's Not Me deserved a video treatment, and it could have changed the perception of Hard Candy... [third unpopular opinion] Hard Candy is a good album with an awful cover. MDNA, Rebel Heart and Madame X: too much vocoder, too much autotune, too much trash, too many bad vocals, too many shitty collaborations, too many ordinary/cheapish productions, and so on. Edit. I forgot her acting career... with some fine exceptions, I'm still trying to forget it.

  29. I still wish their was an autobiography before the film. Two hours is not enough for the life she has lived.
    1 point
  30. But out of her entire career is that the norm? No. Did they actually announce a date they were going to release anything? No. Are you overreacting? Yes. Most def. She literally just released MX on streaming, did promo for it and the "visual autobiography" is next which makes sense to celebrate the 40th anniversary of the debut album in 2023.

  33. I'll be very nervous if we don't get an announcement by January. It's obvious the first release won't happen till Q2. Artists need to finalize their albums months in advance for vinyl releases as the factories are all backed up right night and they take quite a bit of time to produce. Surely they must have the first project ready to go?

  34. Do fans on here still obsess over fever edit one not being in streaming ? ? I remember a while ago lots talking about it like it was the best song she ever did ?

  35. The biopic will have plenty of preproduction work, which may already or likely be soon to start. Whoever is playing the role of Madonna will have a lot choreography to learn, not to mention getting the soundtrack recorded, regardless of whether she will be lip syncing or singing the songs herself, the music will have to ready like recording Evita, which was was full singing for the entire film, so it probably won’t take 5 months to record the soundtrack, but I can only imagine the amount of physical training the new Madonna will have to do, under the actual Madonna’s guidance and direction. I hope the production l my i is starting within the new year, but who knows how this is gonna take! I think that Madonna will be different after this process, whatever happens with the success of the film. She’s chosen a time to actually reflect on her career with the film and the WB reissue project, she can hopefully see why we’ve all stuck around for so long. personally, I hope this is reflection is a necessary bridge for her to cross on her own terms to continue on as the forward-thinking, successful artist she’s always been.

  36. Why do I feel that the Erotica 30 Anniversary is gonna be her first rerelease next year? Rain / Fever / Bye Bye Baby / Deeper & Deeper and Bad Girl we’re all skipped. It would make sense. It’s her MOST controversial era and would certainly get the rereleases going with a bang. We’ve also only had the Erotica video remastered out of the five videos of the era. hmmmm

  37. She is at home with the family already in Xmas mood. I think 'time to make a movie' she means do the usual videos and casual shots around the house with the lot. Loved meaning the 'loved ones"

  42. Hey, so as many of you may know, the Rebel Heart Tour is one of my favourite tours M has ever put together and today I sat down in honour of our queen's Birthday to take on yet another attempt at creating a tweaked (or even better) version of the IEM soundboard from Tokyo. I started off with the Rockabilly section because why not. It is based on the 'without speech'-edit. I only changed what I personally didn't like about it, so, if anyone wants to make suggestions, I'm open to them. I know that it's not perfect but my aim is to create an 'accurate' version of the tour one day, so maybe some of you prefer the official release and some will stick to the fanmade stuff. I do realize that the second night from Tokyo may be better vocally (a fact that I will reconsider when tweaking 'Burning Up') but the overall quality of the first night is far superior. [Hidden Content] Edits made include: fixed timing at the beginning of Body Shop No interrupting by answering the cue at the start of True Blue No random 'what?' during the first verse of True Blue No (weird) Japanese phrases at the end No shoutout to """Stanley""" during the start of Deeper & Deeper (my brain just couldn't process why she would do that, anyway) — I always hated it!! Enhanced guitar solo after the breakdown Fixed vocal when she loses her voice/gets tired and whispers 'more than I know' Boosted vocals during some parts throughout the whole thing HBC & LAV are going to stay untouched because there are no weird mishaps to my knowledge but as I said, I'm open to suggestions. Thanks for checking out my edit!
