    I stongly disagree from you. Madonna is still a very beautiful woman and the filters turn her face into another person. Sometimes she looks like a teenager with a completely different face, since she started to work with Ricardo. If she wants to look like that, ok, she, of course, can do what she wants, but IMO she's still a stunning woman and don't need those filters, like in the beautiful paparazzi photo on top.

    Well because it’s one thing to say I don’t understand this, or it’s not for me etc. And it’s another to dismiss and insult a piece of art due to ignorance or unfamiliarity. I never said or implied there’s any deep meaning behind this video. Or that it’s some magnum opus of her career. It’s meant to look like it does on purpose. And one of the most unflattering things she can do for her appearance is bleach her eyebrows and match them with a nude makeup. But she did it anyway to create a persona for it. Her fans should know better. And appreciate she’s still going out of her comfort zone and puts out new engaging things. Even if they’re not targeted to white middle aged gay men.

    As I said before, this narrative that this forum is just full of haters who want to criticize everything she does is just not accurate even if some people go too far in what they say sometimes because Madonna fans are passionate. Her recent pride performance was very well received in here along with things like the Elton John Your Song cover and her q&a. Nobody is being ageist or opposed to her working with artists of color, its just that this video for the remix she put out is polarizing because a lot of fans don't care for it which is perfectly understandable given its low quality. Not everything needs to be viewed as a personal insult or an attack on Madonna. When she puts out something its unfair to expect everyone to like it and then insulting those who voice their opinions with rude labels in a thread literally dedicated to discussing the topic. Elton Johns collaboration with Britney Spears was shit in my opinion, does that mean I hate everything either of these artists have ever put out? Do some of you actually think about what you comment beforehand because it sounds very very dumb.

    Erotica is such an incredible album, a shame that it was overshadowed by the release of SEX during that time. Happy Anniversary to my second favorite Madonna record, I listen to it so often its become an old friend at this point.

    Some of you don't care about the charts or the stats when she's doing well or getting good results (this video being at #4 on YouTube Trending worldwide chart after the release - "not important!" OK, try to get that yourself with your video, darling!; her growing almost x2 her Spotify monthly listeners in a year - "still very low for a legend!") but then suddenly DO care as soon as she's not doing that great or she starts to drop. If you don't like it, why you care SO much about it? I just don't get it.

    I love the mastering on FEL except D&D The 2001 remasters suffer from the trend at the time of compressing everything to death. They did a lot of great improvements and then ruined everything with compression. And Celebration sounds beautiful on the vinyl, but they fucked up the CD again with the compression

    I very much doubt the label wanted to pretend she was a black artist by not featuring her on the cover. To what end in a white male dominated music industry where white artists made up the bulk of the charts? Olivia Newton John's Physical, Soft Cell's Tainted Love and The Human League's Don't You Want Me were some of the biggest club hits of 1982. Disco was over. Much more likely a scenario is that they were having difficulty in figuring out the best image to push ahead with for this pushy firecracker of an artist. Even the Burning Up cover featured her as a cartoon strip! Right up until the Spring of 1983 when the Edo Bertoglio original album cover was put forward and then scrapped they were clearly not on solid footing image-wise. Leaving things ambiguous on the first single whilst they figured out how to present her to he world was a stall tactic, not 'black-fishing'.

    Tbh just because Frozen on Fire was chill trap, it doesn't mean it's the only thing he does as an artists, the opposite actually, as someone said in the other thread, Sickick's work is actually more electronic / dance music so if this is a new song... Maybe it will be something fans wanted to hear, dance music... We'll see i guess...

    Yes, It is. But to me, in 1992, the song was too noisy. Now I love it. It's a classic in me: many Madonna' songs don't like at first but after a time I love them with passion. This happened to me even with "Express Yourself" and that song (well, the Shep's remix and the video) turned me into a hardcore fan!!!!!

    I've always seen Did You Do It? as the patriarchal response at the end of an album where a woman pours her heart out about love, loss, and her own desires. "...yeah yeah yeah....but did you fuck her?" M getting the punch in before the reviewers and critics. a sort of "I know they'll just call me as sex mad whore so i'll ape them on the end of my record" Men bragging about their sexual exploits while Madonna has to go home and finish the job herself. I didn't really tap into the middle American response to rappers on her record if truth be told but I suppose that's a possibility.
