  1. New member and straight male. I’ve had a crush on Madonna since I was 14. I’m 39 now. I will always think of her as the most beautiful and sexiest woman to ever exist. Although admittedly I wish she could have accepted aging more naturally and not bought into the whole Kardashian/Instagram look. The appeal to me was also feeling like a misfit with a strong Catholic background although I’m not exactly a rebel. I always enjoy reading and watching Madonna interviews and articles. All her albums from her self title to Music were all great. After that her albums were still good but that 1983-2000 stretch is my favorite. I don’t love all her songs and actions but yeah but I’d certainly call myself a fan

  3. The vinyl recording is good, but two problems must be taken into account A) Each side lasts almost 30 minutes. So the pitch is too high (probably to make it last less) B) The master does not come from Warner. It's a FM recording. Conclusion: It's not perfect, but it's "audible". I have original recordings that sounds worse. Anyway, judge for yourself, this is a direct recording of the vinyl without retouching anything (Only Side A): [Hidden Content]

  5. Madonna turns 65 in just a few hours... a very special birthday considering what happened just a few weeks ago and that she's celebrating 40 years in the music business this year. She's still here, she's still rocking (enjoying her first worldwide hit in more than a decade at 64/65 with "Popular" and about to start her new tour) and that's pretty much a good reason to be happy and celebrate her. So let's get the celebration started! Some media already did today, a day earlier: New York Times birthday article: "Take a bow, Madonna" Madonna turns 65 this week. During her 40 years in the spotlight, she has been loved and loathed in equal measure. It is safe to say no other artist of her renown stirs such passionate debate. At the heart of it lies a basic misconception as to who she is. Though she is most often described as such, Madonna is not merely a blinding blue star in a vast celebrity galaxy. She has accomplished what few artists — and even fewer female artists — have done: She has changed the world. Though you wouldn’t know that from her press coverage. 6. And precisely because they are the oppressors, conservatives despise human rights movements like feminism, BlackLivesMatter and LGBTQ. Conservatives want to retain the freedom to treat other people poorly without facing any consequences. That's why they also have an issue when the victims stand up and resist (being woke). Hence, they dislike feminism, BlackLivesMatter etc. And because conservatives always want to play the victim, they do a perpetrator-victim reversal. They claim that the "evil" feminism is just male-bashing. They attempt to undermine BlackLivesMatter with counter-movements like WhiteLivesMatter and they try to silence LGBTQ individuals by labeling them as groomers and demons.

  7. Main stream media doesn't implement policies or change laws, law makers do. The US Supreme Court hasn't been this conservative in decades, the GOP has got majority in the House. So please, spare me the notion that just because bigots get called out on Twitter the "woke" somehow are in control. You're entitled to your own opinion, not your own facts.

  11. Never notice that... I'm "obsessed" with the "Virgin tour" outfits. I think every show has different clothes for the first section but never pay attention to this little changes on the BAT costumes... Now I have a question (not about BAT). On the "Drowned world tour" the guitar strips had the "Fuck off" on the punk section and "Ole, Ole" in "La isla bonita". Does anyone know if in the "cowgirl" section had other things written on it?

  12. Not sure if this has been discussed before. Being a Blond ambition tour geek as anyone else ever noticed the slight costume variants? Opening Outfit. The corset - One outfit has bows on the garter belts the other doesn’t have any bows. Causing a commotion zipper - One top has a red zipper with teeth the other is a white zipper with teeth. Cherish outfit - one outfit has coloured garter belts the other as no garter belts. I also think there were 2 holiday outfits one with large polka dots the other small ones. I know there is always multiple outfits for a tour but usually they are replicated so you don’t notice. I’ve posted pictures for the comparisons

  15. I saw it more as satire than anything. She's always had a very tongue in cheek kind of sense of humor. Hence the introduction to the book as Dita and some of those stories in it. But yeah I bought the book recently used off eBay. I have always considered owning it a must as a Madonna fan. Lol

  17. There will definitely be some "woke" individuals who don't take responsibility, but conservatives aren't any better in this regard either. Here are a few examples: Conservative Christians don't want to take responsibility for pollution and instead attribute it to the "End Times". Conservative people refuse to take action against child abuse and instead blame drag queens and transgender individuals. If conservatives wanted to take responsibility and address child abuse, they would know that most cases occur within families. Transgender individuals and drag queens aren't the issue here. Conservative Politicians attempt to remove education about homosexuality and racism from schools to "protect the children". However, children don't die from being exposed to "woke" topics. They die when a bullet enters their bodies. If conservatives truly cared about the well-being of children, they would take action against gun violence. Conservatives have never cared about the suffering of others. They claim they want to protect children, but that's just a pretext to push their own ideology.

  19. I'll explain it to you one last time: you're doing exactly what any other spam account is doing on social. You came here to drop whatever conspiracy theory came through your mind (BS about "the woke" being in control etc. we all know that this is totally not true and is fueled by dangerous beliefs). I called you out, other did too. Now you're not happy that we are not buying your trolling. Then your only solution is to push me into being rude for you to cry for help "look the woke they don't like to be contradicted". But your contradiction was wrong and biased from the beginning and it did not ask for a debate but only to be troublesome. So you can stop now please.

Is Sex Book Art or Trash?

Uhm, huh? Roe v Wade has been overturned, drag performances are being banished, books are being banned, Florida is teaching kids that slavery actually benefited the slaves, hard worn rights we have taken for granted are being challenged and overturned but the "woke" are the establishment now? On what planet?

Is Sex Book Art or Trash?

Back in 1992, Madonna released a Coffee Table Book, called "Sex". The book was a provocative look at sexual fantasies in photographs and words. It was quite controversial and coincided with the release of her Erotica album. Included with the book was an exclusive song called Erotic. Madonna suffered a lot of backlash at the time, calling her all sorts of nasty names and claiming her book was trash. But do you agree? Let's hear from the fans? Feel free to share your favorite stories, encounters or photos from this book. Listen here: Sex Book - Erotic Audio Maybe not SFW? Outtake [Hidden Content]

  26. Your move @Mden. If your intention is to have an actual discussion, now is your chance. But vague right wing talking points are not gonna fly. The problem with you using the term "woke", is you are exposing yourself for being susceptible to whatever the right wing comes up with. There's no such thing as "the woke". It's a lie that was told to you and you bought it. It's a way to divide people so you can point and say that "they" are the problem. You expose yourself for not thinking for yourself. You have been "given" a thought to have. If your message is not love, inclusion, compassion, respect, and coexistence then you should look inside yourself and try and understand why. because your problems are not external. @PlayPause Take a breather. No typed words are gonna crumble your world. You are personally identifying with your thoughts and your thoughts are not who you are. You are the untouchable that thinks these thoughts. If someone challenges your thoughts, it is not a challenge of you. It doesn't affect who you are. It doesn't harm you. To quote our mother: "None of this is real, including how you feel"

  27. Merely naming a tread/topic with "Art or trash" is insuinating enough.Yes, in this context (a fan forum) it is. It's a cheap clickbait rethoric deployed by the likes of Daily Hate, I mean Mail and Piers Morgan. You chose to name this thread using such sensationalised tone so it's only fair others will also join in using a simialr rethoric.

  30. Let's not forget: Homosexual children are still being rejected or mistreated by their conservative parents when they come out. Women are denied the right to have an abortion in cases of rape or when facing pregnancy complications that could lead to death, because conservatives have banned abortions. What happens to the UNWANTED child in the end or whether the mother dies due to the pregnancy doesn't matter to conservatives. So much for "Pro Life"... Pro-life people are such hypocrites... Christians can impose their religion on anyone. They go door to door to convert others. They send their children to Sunday schools to indoctrinate them. Conservative Christians curtail the free speech of others ("Don't Say Gay Bill", books about racism and LGBTQ topics being banned etc.), but of course, the Bible is not banned. Conservatives engage in constant misanthropic indoctrination while complaining when others resist. They constantly portray themselves as victims, even though they are the oppressors.

  33. Just because he's being "pressured" doesn't mean that he will. That's one. Two: The Supreme Court is a lifetime appointment so I doubt that he cares. And three: even if he DID resign, the Supreme Court would still have a conservative majority and would undoubtedly continue pushing socially backwards and conservative agenda as it has in the past couple of years, actual policies that affect actual humans, so I'm lost in regards to your hypothetical point here.

  39. It’s a combination of people refunding their tickets because they can’t go and refunding their tickets in order to purchase tickets in a better spot or for a different date. But as someone else mentioned, these shows are a long way off. Shows tend to sell out day of anyway unless there’s massive demand. They’ll be fine. Besides, that does look like of available seats but it’s not as a lowly sold as they look. They’re all still over halfway sold and there is no reason to believe the remaining inventory won’t sell too. Especially when people from 5 cancelled shows now need to find new dates.

  41. Also interesting to know I can't say I noticed that when watching the diff shows I'll have to check out a short comparison video now & see. I really like that Yokohoma show recording because she sounds so fresh & her voice isn't tired from months of back to back shows yet & you can tell it. In the later shows she sounds so raspy & breathy but I still love them too for what they are! I love all this talk about the BA Tour it really was an amazing show & time to be a Madonna fan for sure! xoxoxo

  43. Which shows again how narrative and image control are always the key, with her and everyone else. She was allowed and "forgiven" to put those "naughty" little bits here and there cause in 1998 we were sold she was Mother Earth and suddenly everything she did was gold and she was the coolest mum in the world. It was cool to like her. In 1992/1993 it was cool to say she was over. In the end, as she herself has said many times: "none of this is real". It's all an illusion based on many factors. Of course the "SEX" book is art. Literally. It was part of an exhibition last year.

  44. I think going “too far” was part of Madonna’s artistic journey. She was fixated on pushing peoples buttons, to stoke the fire of conservatives in support of what she really believed in. Which was defending minorities and breaking down stereotypes and fear around sex/hiv. The people she was inspired by all walked a similar path. It was an inevitable part of her artistic journey. If labels/execs had of successfully talked her out of it I think it would have come out in other forms. She had to go too far to push her own limits and get “burnt.” Otherwise she’d have remained unfulfilled as an artist. While the book is in many ways a cut and paste of different influences she brought those concepts to a mainstream platform in a way no one else ever would have. It was hugely influential to the queer community and to women. (For better or worse , that’s subjective.) This is why for me it’s her greatest work. Or certainly her most important. But really, her body of work that came before it is all a part of the same journey.
