I once read ‘Live to Tell’ was sung from the perspective of a man after unknowingly contracting HIV from an ex-lover. I don’t know if it’s true but it gives the song a bit more sense.

Did someone here attended any of the shows? * How was it? Was she ok? Did she danced or just sit and sung the concert? * Any new songs? We need to know everything!!!

My theory was that it was from a perspective of a young woman from a conservative family. She talks about her mother and her father "molding her" in the song and I always thought that meant they had given her a very conservative view of sex and sexuality. When she says, "Someone said that romance was dead/ And I believed it instead of remembering/ What my mama told me", I thought that she was talking about how sex is reserved for marriage and long term relationships, but then she heard that romance wasn't popular and that young people didn't really care about not having sex before marriage and it allowed her to feel free enough to do it herself. And the whole "Never gonna hide it again" was about sexual liberation and not having to hide your desires. And, when she talks about "falling in love", she can't help it because sex was always something she associated with love and she can't get rid of that association just yet. The music video is very 60's and that was when people started feeling more sexually liberated and all about "free love". The balloons she loses in the end of the video could represent her innocence, her upbringing. But, it fits both ways because it could easily be about a man coming out as well. I've heard a lot of different theories about the song and I think that's what makes it so great. I personally connect to the young woman interpretation and that's probably why I did interpret it that way.

As long as it isn't edited for months like how MDNA and RHT were. I wouldn't be surprised if it's up for streaming for a while before the home release date. Let's hope Aldo Diaz is kept far away from any and all covers and inserts for the Blu-ray.

It usually never happens for me. For example, I never paid any attention to Iconic. But for some reason after I saw the first news report from RHT opening night, I became obsessed with the song.

People posted fan experiences a couple of pages back. She was fine, complained about the pain and limped a few bits. She did the normal concert. No new songs, Sodade was performed with Dino. Papa Don't Preach dropped.

I don't know Disney+ is going to have something like Madame X Live BUT I do believe Disney+ is going to extend and have more adult contents such as movies from the 20th Century Fox, Miramax, Touchstone... and why not, live shows such as Madame X. Anyway, as long as she will release a bluray, I'll be happy. Even though I like to have a nice cover - please, not something like MDNA - I don't really care about the picture as long as we have the show on bluray. At the end, she won't please everybody. But the fact we can relive the show again and again is more important to me

Exactly. A song about gun control, Human Nature (with bitch and shit beeped out), American Life probably being completely removed, burning crosses on the projections for Like a Prayer, I Rise with the pride flag everywhere, etc. There's NO way Disney would even consider streaming this show.

I think she dropped PDP because it was mainly aimed at the States, where they are pushing for a law to make abortion a crime. American Life is in because it is very much of the real world, right now.

Sorry, but it is definitely one of the highlights of this show. It sounds more current now than it did in 2003, and I think she loves playing it, and I loved seeing it. to each their own.

This song to me is about a person who was a fast talker. It's about being used and lied to when she thought he cared and he was about so much more. In the end, it was only about himself and what he could get out of the relationship and she will never be fooled again by talk and lies. Such a great pop song. I've always loved it.

It's about a guy who pretends to love a woman when all he wants is to fuck her. A very normal thing

I've seen the news about the show being filmed. I am so happy and I totally think Lisbon is the right place to film it. I cannot wait to see her in Paris. And I hope we'll know about the live release soon after the end of the tour, please please please. The Rebel Heart live release was a real torture.

I GENUINELY don't understand the hate towards I Deserve It, it is one of my favorites from Music. I also love I Know It, I think people are far too mean to that one.

Having seen it twice I can say it’s her best theatre tour ever!!

I saw it in New York in September and didn’t like it. The narrative that everyone who’s criticising it hasn’t seen it is simply not true. As Alan states: it’s absolutely fine to not like absolutely everything she does. For me, yes, this is her worst tour in terms of cohesion, setlist, creativity - the lot. And I’m far from someone who is put off by a setlist that isn’t full of hits. Indeed, the Re-invention Tour is one of my least favourites. I do appreciate narrative cohesion when encountering a less-hit-heavy setlist, though, and, much like the era itself, I don’t believe the show has any. The whole story/concept of Madame X is jumbled at best and a pretentious mess at worst. With this being a theatre show, there was a real opportunity to put flesh on the bones of the concept. And they didn’t. At all. Plus, the vocoder effects throughout the entire show provide another barrier to the supposed intimacy that it was meant to encapsulate (alongside the tightly-scripted audience interactions and lack of deviance from the nightly setlist).
