Batuka is such a gem. I'd love to hear it in a stadium tour, can you imagine how transcendental would it be to see a packed crowd singing it at the top of their lungs?

  21. It's really easy... We need to meet someone from WEA UK records, give to him/her thousands dollars to transfer digitally "Burning Up (Alternate Album Version)", "Open Your Heart (Remix)" and, of course "Jimmy Jimmy (Fade)" (because It's totally impossible to do a digital recreation from the album version). The digital files will be 192000 Hz / 24 bit. And our spy in WEA UK records will upload the files to our loved forum. When we start the crowdfunding? PS: PS2: To avoid future misunderstandings: The whole post is a joke. No more jokes made by me.

  27. I think that Madonna's "Farewell Tour" will have no songs newer than the Music album. She will embrace her legacy and make us wish that we had appreciated her more when she was still producing. Her catalog is so amazing 1982 - 2020 (so far) but he goodbye will be a tribute to 1983 -2000.

Let’s be real, we’ll all have recommendations on the setlist and this conversation will go on forever, simply because it was by far her clunkiest approach to song selection and a “cohesive narrative” she’s ever had in a show since Blond Ambition. Even Rebel Heart, for which I’ve expressed extreme disappointment in the half baked ideas for that show in other threads, was a better concept. I’ll never understand why she didn’t make each section of the show each of the Madame X personas and tie it together as a narrative about who Madame X was. There was so much potential to bring back old singles / album tracks that are forgotten, keeping the show fresh for her yet self-referential and recognizable for fans and general public alike. Not every old song has to be a single — Fans would die for songs like Promise to Try, Swim, Words (which the intro of is just like the Future intro and would have been a great song after it as the upbeat song instead of Crave…just saying…). She seems to forget that until the mid 2000s she sold MILLIONS AND MILLIONS of albums. Enough people would recognize these songs for it to not seem completely self-indulgent. Of course, she’d still need a few big hits to keep everyone happy. Not every “new song” needs to be from the latest record. Still looking forward to the recoding and curious to see how she’s tightened up the show via the filmed presentation, as I have a feeling it will be edited a fair bit. I still think she has one massive stadium / arena tour in her based on her greatest hits, so I do want to see her do one final tour-de-force show with Moment Factory and MDNA production and a Reinvention Tour type of approach with the setlist and S&S / MDNA-lite choreography, since I’m sure she has a bit of that still left in her. With FRESH ideas and not simply a rehash of old tours (no more reused backdrops, NO MORE GAS MASKS lmao). But after that? She should give this theatre tour thing a do over. It’s a concept that has so much more potential than what she did with Madame X. With the right creative director and production support behind her, I think she could deliver a truly mind blowing show and reinvent the idea of a pop show once again. That is, if she feels like it, of course. She’s got nothing more to prove at this point. Just don’t want Madame X to be the last of her touring legacy.

  43. I don't care what the footage shows behind the scenes -- Still won't make me, nor most fans, feel sorry for her after the very unprofessional "wait and see" approach she took that resulted in many fans stuck in non-refundable circumstances (e.g. hotels and flights), apart from the tickets. It's really in her best interest to present the show and let it stand for itself. It's fascinating that she seemingly hasn't realized by now how her personal side destroys her brand more every day...between her Insta, her diva behavior resulting in shows starting the next DAY (re: Madame X Vegas show), her rants that go on and on onstage, the way she's presented herself at every public occasion since god knows when... Being a fan of an artist and being a fan of a person are very, very different things. Admittedly -- And please, fans, don't crucify me for this -- But I don't really like Madonna "the person", outside of her catalog, concerts, TV performances, etc. We just don't jive personality-wise, at least based off of how she's presented herself to us. But she has so closely entangled the two for a decade now that it's near impossible to enjoy the end product without it being tainted in some way by her latest antics. Imagine the Confessions era with concerts starting after midnight, canceling shows left and right, and deciding to start the show with the Confessions Interlude some nights, just because? Or showing up at Live Earth the next year in the 2018 VMAs outfit to perform a setlist of Hey You / I Love New York / La Isla Bonita / Like it or Not, kind of like Pride? I have a feeling we'd all have a very different after taste over that era today. If only she would recognize how great her ART is without all the superfluous gimmicks outside of it. I really do believe if it weren't for her personality these days and the extent she goes to put it on display, she'd still be attracting attention from a much larger fanbase. It's easy fixes -- Getting on stage on time, not selling a show as a concert and then using it for 10-minute political rants, having a professional Instagram like any other business or brand, throwing away the ungodly GRILLZ that stopped being popular in 2005 (seriously, WHO is the audience she is trying to appeal to with those? And don't give me the "she doesn't care about her audience, she's an artist" speech -- Yes, she most definitely cares about her audience and squeezing out another hit and wouldn't be collaborating with Quavo and Swae Lee otherwise. Give me a break). Instead, if there is behind the scenes footage, in all likelihood it will continue to present her in an off-putting light with censorship rants and her fighting with management over canceling the tour because she wants to show she's a trooper, and it will be a shame, as the show should be presented without all that baggage. Yes, it had its faults, but it was a beautiful show.
    1 point
  44. No, that was something she added to the statement, but she adressed the incident as an act of censorship. This is in fact ridiculous because the producers and the teather know the content of the show before signing the contracts and can request modifications to the show, that's why she agreeded not to perform some songs for Rebel Heart Tour in Singapur. She just can't accept the fact that even for the biggest popstar in the world there are rules to follow, so when she can't the do what the fuck she wants is an attack to her liberty of expression, because artists are here to disturb the peace.

  45. If this was 2003 / 2005 she would have time to release American Life, all singles, do the Britney colab, VMAs, Re-Invention Tour, the children's books, multiple photoshoots, live 8 and recorded Confessions on a Dancefloor. I could say this for all eras. I never saw her sticking with the same thing for so long. It's quite weird.
