  2. Yes - many organisations / companies do a moratorium over the festive period to accommodate staff leave - if the release is planned for January 13, that would allow time for the demo to be properly mastered for release, This one is a win for M who was devastated when hackers and fans derailed her vision for RH and if released to streaming, we should all work together to promote it and show her our appreciation.

  7. I don't get the hostility to it? Why can't we just be happy, another one of her songs is getting recognized? I will admit that it's hardly my favorite song, but I get it. What's going viral is very catchy. I have to agree with @Frank, I hope it's the demo that is released, maybe alongside the official version of Madame X. I listen to both version back to back, and both are good in their own way, but there is something to the demo that just sounds better. Some of the vocal effects on the MX version seems a bit much. Whatever the case, I'm happy to see another song of hers is catching on. Those who go on making this about "tweens" horrible taste, may want to consider the age of those you see in these videos or uploading a vidoo using her song. They are hardly tweens. I also think she may have made a video to it and that's what she was referring to in her Instagram post. Her playing the drums alludes to it. We'll have to see though. While I understand what you are getting at, it's not as easy as you make it. There is a process to this, even for huge musicians like Madonna. If you recall, Madonna's demos from Rebel Heart started leaking November of 2014 and by Christmas, practically every song she recorded for that era, leaked. As she even stated by then, much of the industry is shutting down for the holidays and that's why up until recently we rarely saw new music releases happening by mid December. Madonna said, she had to call in some favors or such to get those 6 early tracks up on Apple. So if it's true, that 'Back that up to the beat' is being released on Jan 13th, that's a much earlier response to what's gone viral compared to the viral Frozen mix. It's easy to say, "but she's Madonna, she can get this done", but it's easier said than done. I think @GregVsMatt can attest to that as well.

  10. Joan of Arc was brilliant before the fake 1980's Casio keyboard drum add. Rebel Heart (Avicci Demo) was great. The album version is good too. Both versions should have been used. There was room. Beautiful Scars (Demo) was great. Wish we had it in official album quality. Living for Love (Demo) was a bit better too. Love the bridge. Lord Lord Lift Me... Please Forgive Me! Queen and Heaven belonged on the official album as did Nothing Lasts Forever and Never Let You Go. Lots of great demos.

  13. I think we would have got the album as intended with the Rebel and Heart songs separate and in their original form without the Kanye remixes etc no telling what the impact would have been.

  14. I’m wondering if back in the day, she had released the demos instead of the streaming version of RH how different her career would have been. Till this day I choose the demos over the released material, every single time.

But wouldn't you agree, releasing it now, the song would get lost in the shuffle so close to the Holidays? I think it makes sense (if it's true) that she gets it up, early January. Besides, this is just hitting its stride, so I think it's safe to believe the moment is going last long past January. These viral songs catch on and are used for months and months if not longer. We saw that happen with Frozen. It was growing popular by the time she finally uploaded the original viral mix up and it was still doing well, by the time she released the other mixes and videos.

  20. Not gonna lie, I've listened to this demo 100 times more than anything from Madame X, The Chronicles of Frozen, and Slung Up. I haven't been this genuinely excited about any of her output since Rebel Heart to be very honest. It's a weird refreshing feeling. Now here comes the video with her cosplaying as Khloe Kardashian, banging a drum in her underwear in the dark on the farm to drive me up the wall again. That's my girl, God bless her.

  29. In a month from now... wow. It’s gonna work anyway, cause “Frozen” Sickick did and it arrived months later too. But it was different, with another artist and they didn’t even know who was behind the remix at first. But this time I don’t understand the logic. It’s trending now, it’s an old demo, only her... I don’t get it why so late. Just get it out, ride the wave and get that Xmas streaming money, woman!

  33. Madonna's special posture that makes her appear like a statue in True Blue or her enigmatic look in Ray of Light were the reasons why these two covers caught my attention at the time. But in the end I decided to vote for Rebel Heart because I still can't find the meaning of what Madonna wanted to express with the cover art. On the one hand, perhaps the ropes represent the oppression of freedom of expression suffered by people in some societies, especially towards those people who are branded as rebels because their actions or opinions go against what is established. And on the other hand, the look of Madonna, so inexpressive that it reminds me of the look of a corpse, which is precisely what these people become, since being prohibited from doing or expressing what they feel, they end up becoming lifeless beings, heartless, limited to acting all their lives like automatons according to the norms of the society in which they had to live.

  35. I would wager that, throughout most of her career, Madonna was a better singer than she was given credit for. In the early years, her voice - while not technically refined - had this insatiable hunger to it. She was literally attacking every lyric she sung as if her life depended on it, and the rawness and vigor more than made up for the lack of precision or finesse. Come Like a prayer, she began to stretch out vocally and attempt different interpretations, and the vulnerability she allowed herself to show in songs like "Promise to try" and "Pray for Spanish eyes" was a sign of all the good things to come. "Justify my love" signaled a shift into a more spoken-word indebted style which carried over into Erotica, and this leads into the 1993-1996 period, which I personally consider Madonna at her vocal best. "Girlie show" was amazing, "Express yourself" and "In this life" standing out in particular as stellar performances, and Bedtime stories has (unpopular opinion alert) the best recorded vocals of any M studio album: peak emotional investment and her best technique prior to vocal coaching. Her voice there was warm, sensual and yearning, but you could still trace it back directly to the person who sang "Like a virgin" and "La isla bonita". Then she trained her voice for "Evita", and while the coaching transformed her vocal and expanded her range (literally and metaphorically), I always felt that it scrubbed away the hunger and rawness I mentioned earlier. Nevertheless, I thought she sounded amazing on Evita and Ray of light, and the "Drowned world" tour showed she could transfer it into a live setting as well. At some point after that - difficult to really tell when - things went downhill for me. I think it's very clear she hasn't been looking after her voice and the consequences are evident. In my opinion, Madame X was the moment when her vocal ability deteriorated to the point that it couldn't support a studio album, to say nothing of her recent live performances.

  37. Seeing Damien Jalet with her in her last IG post is fueling the tour rumours again, he did the best choreos of Madame X. I don't understand people in the comments lecturing her, telling her how she should behave. The lack of self awareness...

  39. Actually this was the very 1st official image released from the project, in something from Warner in Japan, if I remember correctly? A website or some new releases plan or something like that. But later it wasn’t used anywhere Maybe it was considered for the cover at some point and that’s why Warner Japan got it?
