  1. Let's see how it will develop these reissues, I have my doubts, but I expect they make justice to such a legendary legacy. I was fooling around with this excited news at my day off and decide to create this mockup. Although I expect better design wise and a different package (like Rolling Stones reissue box for Tattoo You or Prince box set reissues).

  2. I'm still recovering from their PR statement a week ago, she just came back from her B-day celebrations and already hard at work. We truly don't deserve her.

  3. As you can see on this video, Madonna has been spoted yesterday in Williamsburg (New-York) with Ricardo Gomez. She has three different looks and a new hair color (or probably wigs). Someone on instagram says it's for a magazine shoot (Rolling Stones) but nothing is certain for now. Video : pics :

  5. The Warner partnership was probably signed about a year ago and is the reason why the EPs started to begin with. I don't think they will stop.

  10. That's exactly it. Madonna did not like the Edo Bertoglio cover (that looked a lot like what he did for another singer Cristina who passed away this year). In his book "Siren Song", Seymour Stein says that Madonna asked the art direction at Warner to not go with this cover and told Martin it was a decision made by the label Another version came from Michael Rosenblatt who was in charge of Madonna at the time, he thought she was not blonde enough on the pics. Warner US had no interest in Madonna at that time. She was in fact signed under WEA the european branch of Warner so she had no real support and hence why she did so much promo in Europe for Holiday. Warner started getting interested when Borderline exploded and the album sales went up. It's all in Seymour Stein's book.

  11. Lucky Star did get released as the 3rd single in U.K. as “full length version” and “edit” and got the gorgeous sunglasses cover in color. But it flopped while Holiday was getting a lot of traction. I still haven’t managed to get my hands on the 7” which is extremely rare and expensive. The flop of LS is the reason why Holiday never got a video. They were afraid to invest more money before they had proof her music will sell. After she promoted the song on every relevant TV show and the album was a hit they quickly shot back to back videos for Borderline and Lucky Star.

    Is MDNA Skin dead?

She hasn't mentioned anything about it in a very long time. Has MDNA Skin died and gone to Madonna business ventures hell with Hard Candy Fitness and Material Girl fashion?

    Madonna - A Showgirl?

Everybody knows so sorry if its old news but if anybody doesnt... M was indeed in line to play Crystal and Drew Barrymore was to be Nomi. Theres even an easter egg in the movie where Nomi (Elizabeth Berkeley) replaces one of the showgirls and rips off the ex dancers name off their dressing area. It says Drew. Im happy with the final cast, I couldnt imagine the movie any other way. Its just perfect as it is. Yes M and Drew lucked out on the car crash reviews ect but Its just fantastic and yes ill say iconic. If nobody likes it well 'id have to piss on you to give you a clue'.

Luckily we'll get a full trailer coming out very soon, next week we'll be a month away from the premiere. And I wonder if they'll release a single with a live video like they did for Rebel Heart Tour...

  27. So would you rather have a bluesy with content that might as well be on a DVD, because it makes you feel better knowing it's old footage burned onto a Blu-ray Disc with no obvious difference in quality because it was filmed on video tape? Sent from my iPhone using Tapatalk

  32. The "feud." Like the feud where passive aggressive and not so passive aggressive comments came from lady gaga and her fans while Madonna pretty much stayed silent for years? Even complimenting her. The same kind of "feud" where Elton John saw an opportunity to attack Madonna relentlessly while she was most likely hurt by him? That kind of feud? Just for the record defense and offense are two different positions to be in. You can only take so much and when it comes from her own fans I don't blame her if she is bitter towards her fans. The minute she opened her mouth in any kind of defense no matter how lighthearted you would thought the world was coming to an end. People need to get over themselves and if they are going to dish it out they should be able to take it or drop out of the game. It is taking me a long time to realize finding people to trust is near impossible. I have especially learned in the past ten years how many people you can not depend upon. A dishonest person with an agenda dangles a carrot and people fall in line. I am completely shocked over what I have seen. I really thought people were not that easily influenced. Maybe Madonna is disillusioned because I know I am.

  36. At least if it's filmed live you can see the initial execution. Cutting songs and over editing it certainly won't make it similar to the live performance. We don't know exactly what she re-shot, but she most likely did some full scenes not just closeups since she is a perfectionist. I disagree with you and the presentation. The Rebel Heart DVD doesn't include "Love Don't Live Here Anymore" and I think it was overedited along with MDNA. I like to see a concert from beginning to end as it was performed live. That being said, as I stated in my initial comment, I'm still looking forward to seeing her vision.

  39. Probably not lol. Madonna has lost her marbles. Like I was wondering was she always this way? I remember reading comments from old school Madge fans on the thread: "What Happened to Madonna after 2007?" where they were claiming she's always been this way...I just don't know

  40. more opinions! (And then some) -Her 1984 cover of "Love Dont Live Here Anymore" was awful. It was screechy and oversung. -The Ray of Light era was great! But her performances were really dreadful. She only had two (3) good vocal performances: "Ray of Light"/"Little Star" on Oprah and "Frozen" at the Rainforest benefit More opinions coming soon!

  41. Ok here I go: - Drowned World Tour was his best tour - Frozen is his best song and it is also his best music video - Killers Who Are Partying deserved to be a Madame X single - I would consider Madame X as your second best album only behind Ray Of Light - His performance in Eurovision is one of my favorites - Girl Gone Wild deserved to be MDNA's first single - I can't stand Dear Jessie, instead I would have preferred Madonna to release Pray For Spanish Eyes as a Like A Prayer's single - His best vocal pass was on the Drowned World Tour - I would not consider the Vogue video as the best of his career, in my opinion the music video for Frozen surpasses it. The Geisha act of the Drowned World Tour is the best act of her career I don't like his more "sexual" jobs very much, for that reason I don't really like everything related to the Erotica era. Madonna instead of singing Like A Prayer in Eurovision better would have interpreted Isaac, since as the Contest was held in Israel, he could have done a small tribute with that song

  42. I am pretty sure Madonna was only signed through Sire, a subsidiary of WB. I think she went to Europe because the dance music scene was stronger and the sort of image Madonna had fit in more with that scene. The UK press were quite nice to her in the early days. Seymour or Michael Roseblatt knew Rusty Egan as well and he was big enough in the UK to give Madonna some clout when he mixed Everybody for that market. Which Madonna hated and had no qualms telling him. When she did a promo trip to the UK in Feb 83, she refused to perform his version and later told him she hated it and he was a shit producer/remixer. I think in terms of the Lucky Star album. From what I have heard, Madonna was being pushed to be more like Pat Benatar and that album cover seems more like something she or Cyndi Lauper (who was not well known at this point) might have done. Rock/Pop was still a thing in 82-83, but was also dying out in the US. This might explain why they went with Burning Up as the second single and why this track was eventually scrapped in Europe/UK. Madonna stated in interviews in 83 that she wanted a more raw sound, more rough and street (one of the reasons she was unhappy with Reggie Lucas' more polished production) I'd go along with the idea that Madonna hated the cover and Rosenblatt agreed. Michael doesn't get enough credit with pushing Madonna mainstream and working hard on helping her to build her career. The album cover we got is more in line with Madonna's image. Madonna herself said the reason Dance music artists were failing bac then was because they didn't have the image to back up or compliment the music. She saw, even in 83 with MTV in its infancy, that image was important. So I would go with the idea that she managed to convince Rosenblatt and Stein to scrap the original concept.

  43. I love this post. Ok here goes.... I loved Madonna's Ray Of Light performance with Lenny Kravitz strange or off vocals or not. I love Swim verses Skin. I can't stand Faz Gostoso but love Bitch I'm Loca. Take A Bow and Love Don't Live Here Anymore make me totally cringe. I loved Hey You And her Imagine performances.
