  1. The remix video is still a 100 times better than anything frozen TikTok, let’s celebrate FEL era and just enjoy it for the fun retrospect that it is, it’s a celebration of her musical achievements that’s it.

  2. To be fair, when those videos were created back then, the b-roll footage was readily available as the music videos had been recently filmed. This is a remix video using 29 years+ old footage and it likely would have taken longer to retrieve the b-roll footage - that's even if they considered it given this is just a remix video. I'm not sure why people are treating this like anything more than a nice to have official remix music video.

  3. Exactly. The editing is messy, it doesn’t even match the music. The fact that people say “better than nothing” baffles me. I would prefer nothing over amateur stuff being attached to her name personally.

  6. Let's see how mum is doing because why not?? She's rising up again with 21.417.753 monthly listeners and up again to #158 overall. The original Sickick remix is 67,4 M now; Fireboy DML 4,9 M; 070 Shake 4,2 M and the new "Frozen On Fire" version is 781.966. No signs of "Frozen" dying on Spotify anytime soon... Finally Enough Love tracks: "Into The Groove" -> 271.253 "Deeper And Deeper" -> 92.158

  7. For as long as the visualizers are stunning like the D&D Mix, I am down for it and excited for Frozen's visualizer.

  10. Material Girl is a product of its time.1980s were all about yuppie culture, consumerism, ambition, greed.. Madonna was very much part of that movement. There was no sarcasm or hidden meaning in pop back then. Material Girl is a perfect anthem for the 80s. I love both the song and the video. Mary Lambert very wisely showed a more human side of Madonna in the end. She's a good girl after all!

  11. I am really happy that M's back catalog is finally being explored. I am excited about Finally Enough Love. Will anything be perfect to an individual user...? No. Causing a Commotion should not have been skipped for Physical Attraction... and the two edits released both omit my favorite parts (Vogue sample in DAD and the low bridge of "live out your fantasy here with me" in ITG but I still love this project. Nothing is gonna check every box. I couldn't afford it if it did. Lol. LONG LIVE THE QUEEN!

  12. We need club78boy to do a new video with the b-roll 😋😋😉

  13. Correct - he had access to the entire shoot - hours and hours of most videos. There was also tension when Dustin remixed Hollywood - he might still have the full Hollywood b roll set - What Dan O Rama allegedly sold was what we got - overly compressed outtakes of an outtake. When I say sell - I heard it was a fraction of what some fans have been charging others for - it was pretty much for free. When they started to leak - he destroyed all the copies he had. I also heard that Warner lost some of the master reels in the World Trade attacks - some where stored there.

  14. They had months to prepare so there's no excuse. I think it's time they put more effort into it. I don't know if it's "better than nothing", it doesn't add anything. Ok that the storyline of the video is lost, but also some musical cues don't go with the new editing, especially when the deep-deep-deep section that substitues the flamenco guitar starts. Once again, fan montages are better made.

  15. Imma need M to show up and do some serious promo for this. The week of the release: Graham Norton Special, Jimmy Fallon, morning breakfast show interviews… the werks! This release deserves the attention from M and the general public. FORTY friggin years! All these great tracks! Get out there and remind them who’s the boss. Here in the UK, this weekend the (royal) queen is celebrating her platinum jubilee (70 years on the throne). But I know which Queen’s special anniversary I’m more bothered about… Bitch shoulda called this album Madonna: The Ruby Jubilee…

  16. I think it should easily be Top 10 - at least - in the most important markets. There's a lot of physical editions to purchase and that will help. "Greatest Hits" albums, in general, usually never worked that well in the US for some reason. "Immaculate", being peak 1990/1991 Madonna, did, it was #2 there and sold more than 10 million copies there. But "GHV2" was #7 (around 1,5 M sold in the US) and "Celebration" #7 too (500.000 copies).

  19. Hopefully they’ll remaster the danorama remix videos for this project. And hopefully they see the feedback and make more of these using broll outttakes.

  21. Remix videos traditionally are mixed up visuals and quickly put together visual edits - just watch any of the remix videos from the Bedtime Stories, Ray Of Light or Music eras. The new remix video is nothing new or unexpected in the context of it being a remix video.

  22. No excuse for doing something rushed and amateurish, with montage that doesn't even match the music.

  24. He doesn’t. At least not for the past 10 years. Im not so sure about this story because some of the brolls out there he never used. There’s plenty of people how had access to them and could have sold them. Maybe it was claimed they came from him to distract from the real source

  28. I was advised by a reliable source a few years ago that when he did the remix videos in the early 2000s he was given b-roll footage in order to do it, years later he allegedly sold copies of the the b-roll footage to M collectors for $$$.

  32. But it doesn't means it has a meaning itself. You can be sarcastic and have some depth. In fact sarcasm in music has been used to showcase serious issues. Madonna is a woman and she will be talking from her experience, it doesn't means it's a feminist activist with each song.

  36. Imagine if she actually gave the fans what they wanted and did Bad Girl true to the original - that would be amazing and she could sit down to do it like on SNL - I don't think we need another version of Vogue or Frozen

  39. Contradiction that would not have been formed if Madonna had made the music videos for these two songs (Material girl and Like a Virgin) respecting the original message but surely the controversy would have been too much, especially for those times when women were very repressed to express their sexuality or what they wanted to do with their body. That is why I think that the videos for these songs softened the original message and that is where the contradiction is formed because one does not know whether to believe the lyrics of the song or the video that tells us something different. Let us remember that at that moment Madonna began her provocative phase and the controversial plot of both songs was enough and perhaps she did not want to risk too much because it could have been counterproductive. She would have time to do it without fear in the Like a Prayer, Erotica and American Life era.

  43. They could have easily done nothing. Of course it would be great if there were outtakes and stuff but the video is nicely edited and effort was put into it I think this was a last minute idea and was put together fast to promote the release. If it’s doing well I’m sure they’ll put more time and effort in the future and take into consideration the feedback. Cause that’s what they did with the EPs and the upscales

  44. I appreciate the edited remix version but there's absolutely " nothing " fantastic about this video , the usual images taken from the video repeated with a change of colors .. it's truly shameful that her team doesn't have or doesn't not want to offer something decent to a fan base that has lasted for 40 years ..no outtake, no B Roll, they didn't even include the deeper and deeper outtake which is included in one of the Music megamixes..they just have to be ashamed .. but not from today but for years.

  45. The bitching is not about the quality of the remix, is about the availability of the remix. The 7'' Remix Edit is available in every commercial release (and streaming). The 7'' Dance Edit is only available on a very expensive promo CD.
