Problem is Madonna fans are not in tune with youth culture because they are not young anymore and she's going after it like she's always gone after the zeigeist. That's the reason why Madame X is still fresh 3 years later. I'm glad she's not into making an effing disco album like they all do. She already did. 17 years ago. And i clearly remember fans hating it because they thought she was cheapenig herself after the more non commerial American Life. They hated that she used an Abba sample, they hated she wore a leotard at 47. Now they all have catch up with it. The only worry i have is not the artists she collaborates with because there's always the Madonna touch in the struture of what she does, my worry is her voice. By trying to filter it to sound young (the same way she filters her face, incidentally) she sounds cold dead and robotic, even grating (she's been doing it since 4 Minutes, at first i thought it was Demo Castellon but it's obviously something she wants since she's doing it even worst with Lauren D'Elia....that's why i don't blame Ricardo Gomes for his face edits either, he does what he's told to do and that's why he's by her side and not someone else) that's where i disconnect from her.

The whole era was a mess. I love parts of the album, but it was managed so badly. Bad choice or lack of singles promoted properly. Video’s released for non singles and no video for actual singles awful artwork…using images when she’s obviously just had eye surgery and looks unrecognisable. Steven is so uninspired now. she came across so rude and obnoxious in the only uk interview on Graham Norton That Eurovision performance.

The way literally all the fanbase was demanding for her to go away from the current music (Hard Candy, MDNA, Rebel Heart) and when she did and gave us an experimental record full with great song they turned her back and trash the album. Justice for Madame X!!! She deliver, she gave us everything we wanted, she survided covid and she'll be vindicated one day. Ven conmigo, let's take a trip!

You all, there's nothing wrong in the rap collabs (and I say that as someone who doesn't listen to rap and still ends up loving many rap songs and almost every feats in Katy Perry or M's music) the problem is she has been ONLY working with rappers since 2008. It became not only predictable, but eventually boring and just redundant and unexciting now. I'm not even enthusiastic about it for the only fact that she isn't working with anyone else. Bruh, she wants a hit? Why not going full dance with TheWeeknd or Dua Lipa then? Or even create a pop banger with someone like Katy or Doja ffs

I just don't understand why she's collab with all those unknown and irrelevant rappers lately, while she can collab with someone who's actually really good and talented, someone like Roisin Muprhy, The Weeknd, Miley C or Doja C. idk with Adele or Rihanna which could give her a worldwide hit, now she's spending all the time for flop projects.

I thought Madame X was all pretty spectacular. Especially the videos to Medellin and God Control. Madame X was her most interesting and boldly creative album in a long, long, time. She stopped chasing trends as everybody had demanded for a decade or so, and then… somehow they all got mad she wasn’t chasing trends. Um… okay — Whatever. I loved all the personas —the ever shifting musical landscape, Madame X unfurled upon each playing. All that — Plus — I Don’t Search I Find. Which truly DOES sound like some long lost Erotica era track. The imagery was fantastic — as were the short dark wigs. Yeah, I am really, really OVER the long, long blond hair already. And then the tour was epic — I saw it twice here in LA — I just rewatched the film again — and damn. So much greatness in this whole era. If you didn’t see that — well, then. Fuck Damn. I have no idea what you want from her. It’s never gonna be 1987 again. Let it go. Ciao Bella is BY far the best bonus track — I listen to it everytime I drive alone out to my friends desert house… And I have no idea what it’s even saying. It’s just catchy as hell and so fits my mood. The “sometimes” lyrics… Damn. Love it.

i have always found that mirwais production could have been way, way better. i mean, just look at MU or AL. sure, there are sound collages too, but they fit and come together to form a holistic soundscape. some of the synths he used for MX simply sound cheap which is also very reflective of his latest solo work “2016 – my generation.” but that is how his style has changed, i guess. times and people change.

There are some artists that have combined studio versions with live versions or even remixes that are very different, so of course Warner could combine the album versions with remastered versions from the greatest hits albums (The Immaculate Collection or Celebration). I'm sure they'll do it at some point, they did it with Papa Don't Preach for the 35th anniversary release.

We never know what really happened, but I always got the feeling that Rosalía didn't really want to do it and all that was an excuse so Madonna finally said "OK, no". Madonna also acted foolishly, "nobody knew who she was" in her world maybe, but by Summer 2018 Rosalía had one of the biggest hits of the year in Spain and Latin countries with "Malamente" and about to release her second album. I have the feeling she has recorded her voice singing the tracks/medley of the performance, then they will synch it with a virtual FNT video of a Madonna avatar performing and they will screen it and she will be there in person, maybe appearing at the end of the virtual peformance to make a speech and then to party a bit with the guests. I am quite certain this not gonna a traditionnal "real" performance. Then the next days the haedlines will be "Madonna is the first singer to perform a show by her NFT" etc...

Definitely not my genre. Anyway, I hope she's in the studio not for the WOW performance, not for more remixes, but for a new musical project, although it's not very likely.

As a work of art, MX certainly succeeded, but as a pop album, too many parts didn't fit together and could have been better shaped by a more suitable producer. Dark Ballet could have been an epic masterpiece like Bohemian Rapsody, but turned into a curious sound collage without any form. Especially some remixes of I Rise, Crave, Medellin, God Control, I Don't Search or Come Alive I found superior to the album productions. They showed that many songs had the potential to be hits and that the album could have been constructed in a more commercial and catchy / radio-friendly way. But unfortunately that wasn't Madonna's intention.

Wow, I'm shocked so many people became fans as round the Rebel Heart era 😮 and here we were thinking she couldn't get new fans anymore. Anyway, Madame X. I was disappointed when I first listened to Medellín, because I was expecting her to try and get a smash hit like Music. Everyone was hyping up a "disco track with drag queens" and I was so ready for her commercial come back. Then we got Medellín and it took me a while to appreciate it. But when the album dropped, that's when it clicked that this was not going to be that kind of album at all. She finally decided that she didn't care about climbing the charts or pleasing the masses and she made the album she was inspired to do. This is some 1992 shit. This album was such a statement, and I loved it from the very first time I heard it. Absolutely loved the easthetic of the blue tiles and the typewriter and eyepatch props. The only thing I find disappointing, is how low-effort the Madame X persona was handled. We got the beginning of her story in Medellin video and then nothing. It's disappointing that her story was not continued in the other videos, nor in the tour. There was so much that could have been done with it. It was a THEATER tour!

Errr no. Oddly enough I had to attend a web3 webinar yesterday for work, and apparently I’m receiving an NFT (not a WoW one) from my job. I honestly have no interest in anything NFT crypto related.
