I kind of hope they focus on Ray of Light 25 and leave the Madonna album stuff for July. That would tie in brilliantly with the tour commencement.

I don't know about this current one but the others have been fan mixes. In fact, I posted the Power of Goodbye one in another thread regarding the song. That was uploaded 7 years ago on Souncloud by a remixer going by Musicinferno. And just recently @Rebel Hugo uploaded the song on his Youtube channel.

I had been wanting to make this thread for awhile. So here we go... Rescue Me. To me, this song is up there w/ Like A Prayer and Vogue. It was released as a single, got the remix treatment (great remixes), but it only got a montage video (WTG Tour clips) and no actual live performance. Apparently, the Madame X performance would have been too long... Couldn't they shorten it? That interlude was better than nothing but not enough. Why has Madonna paid this song dust? Doesn't she realize its brilliance? Rescue Me could seriously have become a well-known hit, one of her top classics. It is among fans, but can you picture what an actual music video would have been? With a video, TV performances and more tour performances, it would have been a lot more impactful. Missed opportunity.

It's actually true because she herself admitted it in an interview. As we all know, Madonna is perfection personified. That is why many of us were completely baffled to see her performance with Maluma in Medellín, Colombia. I remember that on that occasion many forum users tried to explain the reason for such a disappointing performance: some said that Madonna was drunk, others that her prostheses did not allow her to move freely, others that she did not rehearse enough, others that she was intimidated by the Colombian dancers, others that it was not really Madonna but a double, etc. Totally subjective and unsupported justifications. The only explanation that I found credible and acceptable was the one that I myself gave on that occasion and it was this of the panic attacks that Madonna herself admitted to suffering in an interview but that I personally doubted was true since I had always seen Madonna with such overflowing self-confidence but definitely after their performance in Medellín I learned a great lesson: that our idols are as human as we are and sometimes fanaticism blinds us to the point of believing that they are perfect beings when they can have the same or even more flaws than the commonest of mortals.

So, the 40th anniversary of Burning Up's release is only 5 weeks away (March 9th). Has anyone heard any mumblings about something to tie in with that? A digital EP even? It was the last thing released before the debut album came out. Holiday came later. Emily, you still there hun?

In 1985, Warner Brasil authorized the use of "Crazy for You" in a tv soap opera soundtrack. Weeks later, Warner International disavowed and demanded the retreat of the LPs and K7s from the stores. The song could not be in other soundtrack but "Vision Quest"´s. CFY was replaced by "Smooth Operator" by Sade. The soudtrack LPs with Madonna became really rare and now are considered a gem for vinyl collectors from Brazil. Nowaday it´s sold 10 times more expensive than the second one. Madonna´s song was aired only once in the soap opera, before Warner International taking action.

Yes, i'm french btw and a journalist, i used to know the previous editor but never bought a copy of the french edition so far. I wonder if it has always looked that cheap. It's not just the Madonna part. The spanish edition looks like the american one, i mean it looks high end. The Italian one has more of a personal identity but it does not look almost cheap like the french one. I don't like the quality of the print too, it's very dark. The way the pics are displayed on the pages too. The italian one is devoted entirely to Madonna, the spanish almost too but the french one, not at all. You have the Galliano & Almodovar interviews and that's it. They did not even try to ask french intellectuals or personalities about Madonna like the italian and spanish editors did. And the editor's letter is almost a carbon copy of the italian one but he added something i don't like, he says Madonna came out of her crypt for that photoshoot. They probably did not like to have that article imposed on them by the italians. I saw the italian and spanish ones at a newstand and they look better, the printing i mean, i was waiting for the french one to be released to buy it but i think i'm gonna get the italian one too now since it's the master one and it looks better.

Well, I didn't know that the aim of Lil Nas kiss was so deep. I thought that he only wanted to attract the attention of the press and generate scandal, something common in these artists today. On the other hand, I understand Madonna's reaction when posting on her social networks that she did it first, since hardly anyone mentioned her in the media after that kiss and she simply wanted to seek the corresponding credit. Something totally opposite to what happened when Bad Bunny, the most famous Latino rapper today, kissed two people at the same time at the 2022 MTVs and all the latino press named Madonna as the pioneer in this type of performance, something that It should have happened in the case of Lil nas as well. And when I say that I understand Madonna's reaction, I am also acknowledging and defending a certain egocentrism on her part, which would be wrong since egocentrism is undoubtedly a flaw, but when it comes to Madonna even her flaws, for me, become virtues. An example of the inconsistency of exaggerated fanaticism I suppose.
