  1. Well, that's just your opinion. Madame X is, IMHO, one of her best albums. So, there's nothing to face here.

  4. Honestly My only choice. Great actress too and if she nails the accent and attitude she'd be utterly perfect. She might need to train a bit to get the physicality right but for early Madonna and True Blue onward Madonna she's spot on. If you're going to emulate peak sexy symbol Madonna of the Virgin era she'd need to be padded to look curvier. The actress needs to be smoking hot during this era. The sex symbol part of Madonna is pivitol to her star power. Without it the business and performance element to her 80's incarnation isn't as powerful. Her aggressive sexual agency is part of her power and energy. Also the fact that her biggest role so far is in Stranger Things, the era of Madonnas peak powers and rise to fame feels serendipitous. y.

    2021 calendar

Speaking of legacy... Just got this mail from Danilo: Hi Enrico We are as disappointed as the fans to not product the calendar as you can imagine! I can inform you that again we are not producing the Madonna Calendar for 2021 My apologies for any inconvenience caused

  12. For me it's not about future new album chart success or sales, it's about honouring an incredible legacy and catalog with properly scheduled anniversary releases. Not like Alanis and her 10th anniversary, 15th, 20th, .. but Madonna is approaching (and has already missed) some important milestones. 25th and 30th anniversary milestones are sailing by --- THAT Is what I hope a return to WB guarantees -- a proper release schedule for anniversary and special edition fan-geared releases.

  14. Why do people assume that just because she returns to Warner’s all of sudden she’s going to have huge success all over again ? She’s 62 now not 32 ? The record company and promotion is irrelevant at this point in her career . It’s really critical who she collaborates with now from a songwriting and production perspective. A lot of fans thought that bringing Mirwais back to the fold was going to rejuvenate her career but let’s face it it was met with meh results . I don’t blame Interscope for her poor sales - I blame M not for not churning out decent songs

  15. And if we look carefully, the Warner new deal (if it happens) is the best (and maybe only) solution. Considering the "bad" sales from the 3 Interscope albums, considering she's 62 and that her last tour has been a disaster in terms of image, Warner is the best solution. She can work on her strong back catalog, maybe providing some interesting releases (just take a look to what they did with Prince catalog : https://store.prince.com/store/?utm_source=EstateHub&utm_medium=link&utm_campaign=Link-from-hub ) ,and if she wants, she can of course release new stuff. On the opposite, if she deals with Interscope or Sony, then she would have to release only new stuff, in a weak way. A new album with Warner means that Warner can provide a bigger support. They can release a new album is a re-release for example. Remember for example when in 2001 they re-released the 3 first albums during the tour.

  16. So if she ever decides, she can recertify her Interscope material? Edit: not that there's a lot to certify but Bitch I'm Madonna could be Gold lol

  20. In 2016 Blond Ambition by Elyse Hollander topped the so-called Black List of favourite scripts voted on by Hollywood film executives. Now that was something I was really excited about. Unfortunately Madonna said that this planned film of her life was "all lies". I understand Madonna would want to be in full control of everything and therefore decide to write a screenplay about her life herself. But wanting to be in charge of everything can also be a blind spot leading to Madonna giving us her version of events, while a screenplay or script written by someone else could be more objective. I really want this to work for her, I'm just afraid ego will prevail over truthfulness.

The difference is in 2004 she had planned to make a documentary all along since before the tour started. It was broadcast in October 2005 over a year after the tour ended and was contracted to not come out on DVD until the following year (2006). By that time they were well into the Confessions era and it probably made no sense to release the full tour on DVD as too much time had passed. Plus, Careese confirmed that full RIT couldn't be released until a certain amount of months after the IGTTYAS DVD came out, and they were already broadcasting the Confessions Tour and releasing the DVD for that. I can't see the same happening to MXT. If the concert is truly done editing, there's no way they'll go back and start from scratch to make a documentary.

  26. We need a spicy girl to play Madonna. Don't forget she's Italian. She may color her hair in blond and have blue eyes our girl is very italian in her face features and what emanates from her. Picking a pure white girl to play her would be a huge mistake...

I hope so! It's embarassing that you can have a calendar for every animal or tv star and not Madonna! Does it sell so bad? I thought many of us would buy it! Luckily we can re-use 1993... also one of her best!

  28. The Sun is full of crap most of the time BUT sometimes the music/showbiz editor gets exclusive and real info before everyone else, some music teams use them to advance information. The Spice Girls did it with their last reunion in 2019, Kylie with her new single a month ago, etc. We'll see. A proper announcement on her birthday would be very old school Madonna + Warner vibes.

  29. The Madame X Tour CD / DVD is clearly NOT the reason for Madonna to join Warner. Universal can release it, because it was probably included with the deal with them. AS I said, maybe Warner will buy the rights fo all the stuff released by Universal. But the real reason why Madonna is "maybe" joining Warner, is the money she can earn with her back catalog. She'll probably win more money with re-releases of her back catalog than with any new album. Of course, maybe the new deal is including new albums but I can't imagine Madonna win a lot of money with it.

  32. i don't think she would do a greatest hits tour. i see it more like a "And Repeat" where candy shop will be part of the setlist. if we are lucky, maybe 'Rescue me' will make the setlist. the only con is using it as an interlude...

  33. sources tell Billboard that she has not inked a new deal anywhere as of Saturday (Aug. 8) and any talks are in early stages. While The Sun reports that Madonna is considering a return to Warner Music Warner Music declined to comment for this story.

  34. I have no doubt this will be very underwhelming. I can’t see what a re-recorded verse and a socially distanced video shoot will bring to the table. but either way I’m here for it because... it’s Madonna and if teaming up with Dua Lipa is the beginning of her image course correction with the locals then it’s cute. I wouldn’t even rule out another solo single from the left over Madame X sessions to tie in with the DVD/ CD release of the tour. A nice lil bonus track like they did with the I Love New York on the I’m Going To Tell You A Secret tour cd.

  38. Sorry, but a biopic is not a good idea for me. despite both biographies 1.) bohemian rhapsody 2.) rocketman have won Oscars - they were (very) easily forgotten When I see Angela Bassett and I remember she played Tina Turner in a biopic - I am overwhelmed by an odd feeling. Besides its a bit suspicious when you direct a movie about yourself - it might sound as self-reference delusion. I have a feeling a biopic conveys greater credibility when someone else talks about you. Please, infinity's regulars dont be mad at me. Please.

  42. I hate Interscope, so this is a good thing. I'll never forgive them for the way they've handled Madonna's recent albums and certain other artists in the past.
    1 point
  43. It's more than that. Madonna took Warner for granted sometimes and Warner perhaps underappreciated Madonna, too. There were well documented struggles with Maverick, which was her venture, and she no doubt bankrolled quite a lot of warners company. We can now painfully identify what she gave up a dozen years ago, but we now know that the music industry has shifted more toward the live experience (and away from the music) in the course of those years. The fact that Madonna went with the company whose priority was in the live performance aspect (Live Nation) shows that she knew the way to succeed as an artist in the current environment. And there’s something to be said, too, about the breach of the agreement, it was a 360 deal, and they promised her the music distribution channel, which they ultimately failed to deliver, as they outsourced that bit (and never measured up for her, because Interscope had no real incentive to deploy their full arsenal of resources for her) Not saying she made “the best” decision, and i'm also not saying her recording career hasn’t suffered loss owing to that choice. But we also wouldn’t know what touring would have looked like for her if she had stayed at Warner — it’s possible she may not have been able to do all she wanted on stage, to the quality and scale she wanted to, had she not had the Live Nation resources. Who can say at this point apart from the woman herself? The only question I want answered now is, can she recover any lost ground in terms of the legacy/back catalogue now? It is clear the charts/hits-chasing will end — perhaps she'll get one more lightning strike, but unlikely. Hopefully she can continue to create what she wants in the future and still celebrate the beloved projects of the past which fans would love to revisit (or fully discover for the first time, in some cases). Having some maxi singles uploaded to streaming is a step in the right direction

  44. "4 Minutes" was a monster hit in 2008 and one of the pop songs of that year, it was everywhere. A proper international hit and her last one so far. The "Sticky & Sweet Tour" was a huge success too. And then the Super Bowl in 2012. I know some fans don't like the "Hard Candy" era that much and have "Confessions" as her last peak, but let's not rewrite history...

  48. If only. I would die for Stuart to come back and fully give her back catalog the reworks he did for a lot of it during CT. Knowing our luck we'll have Aldo Diaz as graphic designer and Kevin will stay with the 9th rendition of Candy Shop behind an Instagram filter alternating between studio vocals, different dates and long hair/short hair Madonna.

  49. Honestly...only under a few conditions: It's not a PURE greatest hits tour. There are a lot of hits that she never performed or has forgotten about. It's time to shed some light on those. It follows a storyline and isn't just a loose bunch of random songs thrown together. I'm here for medleys if that means making room for more than just 22 songs. The songs will have to be rearranged. Kevin Antunes has been serving really whack album version remakes for the last two tours. Let Diplo, Mike Dean or Stuart Price handle the tour arrangements.
